Russell Simmons is coming to Rihanna’s defence after Chris Brown called her out for her self-destructive lifestyle. He said she’s been “had” by every industry rapper (we all know what he means) in his new freestyle rap over Kanye West’s “Way Too Cold.”
Simmons took to his blog to defend the so-called “Good Girl Gone Bad.”
“As far as I’m concerned, I don’t see why everyone has their panties up in a bunch. It’s just that she is out there allegedly fuckin’ the rockstars of her dreams and you out there fuckin’ groupies. You can’t be mad that she was seen walking out of Ashton Kutcher’s house late one night, cause you know if you were seen walking out of Adriana Lima’s house late one night, you would be in the studio the next day rapping about it. I mean, you all got like 50 girls in your videos drooling over you and you dissing Rihanna? I can’t blame a girl for being independent, having fun and living her life the way she wants to. I am certainly not condoning indiscriminate sex, but don’t get mad cause the girl…”
Here here Russell. You tell ‘em.
Brown’s original lyric caused Rihanna to unfollow him on Twitter, though he said she’s making to many assumptions. He said: “Don’t f–k with my old bitch it’s like a bad fur/ Every industry n—- done had her/ Shook the tree like a pumpkin just to smash her/ Bitch is breaking codes, but I’m the password.”
I totally agree that there’s an unfair double standard in the music business. Plus, the fact that Chris Brown is the one calling her out is laughable.
Do you think the comments against Rihanna are too harsh?

When Kanye’s “Way Too Cold” came out we were naturally gushing as he professed his love for Kim Kardashian. On top of bringing the reality star into the song he made jabs at Kris Humphries and gave a shoutout to Wiz Khalifa and his fiance Amber Rose.
“The whole industry wanna f— ya old chick/ Only n—a I got respect for is Wiz,” Kanye rapped.
Wiz Khalifa told New York’s Hot 97 he was shocked Kanye said his name in the song: “I’ve gone a long time without someone saying my name out loud like that. It wasn’t a bad thing, it was just a fact that it was my name, so it was wild,” he said. “But it wasn’t nothing negative. Everyone got positive [feedback] from it, so it’s positive.”
People assumed he and Khalifa had beef because Amber is Kanye’s ex but it turns out there’s no tension and they’ve surprisingly never even met each other!

Between nap and snack time, Young Kanye had just enough time to film this explicit and unofficial video for “Theraflu” “Way too Cold.” The grade school kid is ballin’ on the streets of Manhattan, meeting a model along the way and naturally upsetting Sarah Palin.
We love the video enough for Kanye to make it his own. It was directed by Ashley Smith, known as “Ash Innovator,” and went viral within a few hours of going up. The kid is adorbz, though it’s a bit awkward to watch him lip-sync some of the raunchier lyrics like ”Can’t a young ni**a get money anymore?”
Does the video for “Way Too Cold” go way too far?
Watch it here:

Kanye West announced his “creative decision” to change the name of his upcoming single “Theraflu” to “Way Too Cold” this week, leading a lot of people to assume he was pressured into renaming it from the brand Theraflu.
But the trademarked brand, which sells cold and flu medicine, insists they didn’t have anything to do with the change of name and even sent a statement to TMZ to verify: “Novartis Consumer Health did not ask that the name be changed,” reads the statement. “That request would be way too cold.” Ha! Good one.
This comes right after they supposedly sent TMZ the following statement: ”We in no way endorse or approve of the references or use of the image and likeness of Theraflu in this manner. Theraflu is an over-the-counter product used to help relieve cold and flu symptoms that millions of consumers rely on.”
I guess Kanye gets the last laugh in this one, but I have to admit I like the original title better!
