It’s the return of the all-stars! After tackling the most memorable Mia Michaels’ routines last week, the dancers faced an all-new challenge. This week, we got to see the top ten perform with the shining stars of So You Think You Can Dance yesteryear. Also, choreographer Benjamin Millepied was on the judging panel! He was the genius behind the moves in Black Swan and he’s Natalie Portman’s new hubby.
Here are my favourite moments from this week’s episode:
1. Opening group routine
This energetic homage to Gene Kelly choreographed by Tyce Diorio was so much fun! I couldn’t take my eyes off of Eliana, playing the glamourous Hollywood ingénue and the addition of funky trash can lids on their feet was a cool percussive touch. I only wish I could hear them better. And last but certainly not least, Tyce made a cameo as one of the dancers. He fit in so well I didn’t even notice he was there until the end, which I think is a good thing?
2. Tiffany’s disco routine
It seems that Tiffany was born for disco. This dance was electric and full of energy from beginning to end and the 11 (yes, 11) lifts were all executed perfectly. Plus, she had great chemistry with her all-star, season five’s Brandon. And the sparkly disco ball lighting and glittery ripped jumpsuit didn’t hurt either. It was dizzyingly amazing.

True story: When my older sister was in high school she really wanted a pet Iguana. One Christmas, before we had opened any presents, my mom and dad excused themselves to grab a surprise gift. They came back with a cardboard box that seemed to be softly shaking (as though something was inside) with breath holes poked along the side.
My sister opened it and found an IGUANA!! She gleefully squealed until she looked closer and realized how stiff it was. Upon closer inspection, she realized it was a plastic replica toy. My parents started laughing their arses off “you should have seen your face!”
That’s the first thing I thought of when I saw this video of a boy who was pranked by his parents on Christmas. They wrapped an iPad box in gift wrap, but instead of a sleek new toy inside there was dirty old vegetation. The adorable kid has a good attitude about it all because, you know, we all want a crusty carrot for Christmas.
We recently saw Victoria Justice and Max Schneider’s one-take music video for their Bruno Mars cover and found out pretty quickly that their lives are dayam awesome. The duo took on a Maroon 5 medley, which includes “Payphone,” “Moves Like Jagger” and “She Will Be Loved” among others. Whatever they’re doing, they look like they’re having fun.
Just like their Bruno Mars video, this Kurt Schneider-directed clip is a live lyric video, which is challenging to shoot considering they’re jetting from room to room in a live action sequence. If you’re dying to see the two in action, they’re going on tour in a couple weeks. Check out their tour dates here.
Watch the clip below:
Despite our best efforts, everyone has moments of failure in their life. We’re talking about small fails: falling on ice, getting hit in the head with a soccer ball. All you can do is pick yourself up and laugh after…. and maybe show those clips to the entire world so they can laugh too. It’s all very cathartic, you see.
This is adorable! To celebrate his 29th birthday, Birdman brought Lil’ Wayne a birthday cake and bought him a crazy expensive watch.
The event was recorded with Birdman giving Wayne a Audemars Piguet watch. These watches can sometimes cost neatly $400,000! Wayne was also given a huge birthday cake.
Wayne marked his 29th on Twitter by saying, “Here’s to another year! Getting older but better with time. Luv!”

During Chris Brown’s VMA performance on Sunday, his $22,000 watch started to bother him. So what did he do? He casually threw it in the audience.
The watch is a diamond encrusted Rolex, and you would think that’s something that shouldn’t be thrown around. A bodyguard went looking for the watch, and surprisingly someone turned it in.
Chris is extremely grateful and wants to reward his fan with tickets and backstage passes to his upcoming tour. And hopefully Chris will be a little bit smarter about dancing with a $22,000 watch, and then just throwing it around.
Last week Charlie Sheen went nuts inside a restaurant bathroom and in a hotel, doing cocaine and trashing his room. Another stint in rehab maybe?
Sheen’s escort for that eventful night was porn star Capri Anderson, who was with him for the entire evening and is getting slapped with the blame for a big ticket item. Sheen is claiming that she stole his $150,000 Patek Philippe 5970 watch, but according to Anderson, he’s just crazy.
According to TMZ, Anderson says Sheen went after her Prada purse in the hotel room and “ripped it to shreds” while looking for his expensive time piece.
Sources close to Anderson say that the porn star had just recently purchased the bag, worth $1,600, and when she took it to a store for repairs she was told that it wouldn’t be an option—Sheen allegedly went super nuts on it and made it “beyond repair.”
Now, this could just be that Anderson is tired of the blame and wants to shift some over to Sheen, making up the whole story… or (and we hope it’s this) Sheen is just as nuts as everyone thinks he is and actually went crazy on her bag, because that’s more entertaining!
According to law enforcement, Anderson never alluded to the whole purse incident when questioned. Sheen’s manager also denounces the claims, joking, “Maybe she can get a Prada sponsorship out of this.”
According to TMZ, Rachel Uchitel says she checked herself into a sober living house in order to clean herself up, but unfortunately she claims that she was robbed… by the rehab facility itself!
The former mistress of Tiger Woods says that she had to give over her $11,000 Cartier watch when she checked into Oceanside Transitional Living and when she was ready to leave they wouldn’t give it back to her.
Uchitel has filed a lawsuit against the director of the facility with the L.A. County Superior Court. She’s hoping to make back part of the watch’s cost in small claims court, where the maximum one can receive for any case is $7,500.
The court date is set for sometime in November.
Tokyoflash recently announced the release of the latest design from the Kisai series, Tenmetsu. Made of aluminum, Tenmetsu features red, amber and green LEDs to represent the time.
The time and date on the watch are shown in sequence by color. The red lights indicate 15 units, amber lights indicate 5 units and green LEDs indicate 1 unit. The combination of these lights represent hours, minutes, months and date.
The Tenmetsu is available for approximately $257 US.
On Monday, Tokyoflash announced the release of Fire, it’s LED-display wristwatch. The watch features a stainless steel face with a series of holes drilled in it. Each hole has two LED light beneath it to represent a particular unit of time. The yellow lights indicate hours 1-12, the red lights represent groups of ten minutes and the green lights show single minutes from 1-9.
The watch is retailing for 12,900 Japanese yen, or appoximately $130 U.S.
