Warrant Issued for Jake Harris from ‘Deadliest Catch’

“Deadliest Catch” star Jake Harris currently has a bench warrant out for his arrest after he failed to appear at a hearing Wednesday.

“The court issued a bench warrant for his arrest,” King County, Wash., prosecutor spokesman Dan Donohoe tells PEOPLE. The bail amount on the warrant is $500.

“Jake just made a mistake on his scheduling,” his attorney, Ed Ritter, told PEOPLE on Wednesday. “We plan on going in tomorrow at 2 p.m. to clear it all up.”

Harris has been charged with reckless driving and driving with a suspended license. If convicted, he faces a maximum of a year and three months in jail.

This guy and his wife are really screwed up. Randy Quaid, the quirky actor who played Cousin Eddie in the National Lampoon movies, is in hot water with the law. Randy Quaid and his wife Evi, missed two court dates this week even after their lawyer assured the court the couple would be present. The couple are being charged with defrauding an innkeeper.

“If they’re picked up in California, they will be put in jail,” Santa Barbara Senior Deputy District Attorney Lee Carter told PEOPLE. “They cannot be released on bail until they come back here and a judge [agrees to] set bail for them.”

“The warrant will go nationwide,” Carter says. “Anyone out there that comes in contact with them can pick up our warrant and start their own felony fugitive case.”

Arrest warrants have been repeatedly sought and later quashed for the Quaids, who were charged last year with failing to pay a $10,000 hotel bill.

They pleaded not guilty in December and were released on $40,000 bail. Carter says that bail has now been forfeited.

‘Hiding In Time’ Comic Headed To Big Screen

Yet another comic book series is getting the movie treatment.

Warner Bros. has picked up the rights to “Hiding In Time,” an Image Shadowline miniseries created by Christopher Long and illustrated by Ryan Winn.

The comic, which debuted last year, is set in the not-too-distant future and presents a revamped Witness Protection Program, one which uses time travel to relocate high-profile witnesses into the past.

When the program is compromised, government scientist Nathan Crew must jump back through time — experiencing some of the greatest moments in history — to save the witnesses from hired assassins.

Beau Thorne, who penned the upcoming big-screen adaptation of the video game “Max Payne,” will write the script, while Dan Lin will produce.

News of the “Hiding In Time” adaptation comes as the James McAvoy-starring “Wanted,” loosely based on Mark Millar’s comic book miniseries, grossed over $50 million at the North American box office during its opening weekend.

‘Wanted’ Makes Box Office History

Angelina Jolie has finally lived up to her pay check and delivered a hit.

Her new action flick “Wanted” opened this past weekend to record numbers. In fact, Deadline Hollywood reports that it was the biggest opening weekend ever for an R-rated movie in June. It took in $51.1 million, surprising Universal Studios, who were only expecting $35 million.

“Wanted” was also the sixth biggest opening for an R-rated film of all time, and the third biggest R-rated action film.

This all looks very good on Jolie, who was on of the main reasons that audiences wanted to see the film, according to the studio’s polls. It was Jolie’s biggest opening ever for a live-action film.

Jolie’s last couple of films, like “Beowulf” and “A Might Heart,” have only had lukewarm receptions.
