Undoubtedly, the least surprising news story this year: TMZ is reporting that LiLo (the infamous convicted felon and drug user) was terminated from her community service at a Los Angeles women’s shelter because she was unreliable. As part of her shoplifting sentence, Lindsay was required to complete 360 hours of community service. The nice people down at TMZ said that she missed nine sessions before she was kicked out of the program. It’s not surprising that LiLo neglected court orders and was too busy (probably making sure she remembers what cocaine smells like) to volunteer. What IS surprising is that out of all the time she was spending *not working*, she didn’t want to put off one all-night bender to help others. Luckily, Lindsay gets a second chance with The Red Cross. We’ll see how this turns out.
The beautiful Halle Berry is best known for dazzling audiences on the big screen, but few know about her childhood battle with an abusive father in a violent home.
In an interview with CNN, Berry opens up about her past in the hope that it will bring the issue of domestic violence into the spotlight. Berry spent the beginning of her life watching her father physically and mentally abuse her mother before blossoming into the on-screen siren we know today.
“I’ve spent my adult life dealing with the sense of low self-esteem that sort of implanted in me. Somehow I felt not worthy,” Berry, now a mother herself, explains. “Before I’m ‘Halle Berry,’ I’m little Halle…a little girl growing in this environment that damaged me…I’ve spent my adult life trying to really heal from that.”
Berry dedicates an enormous amount of her time to the Jenesse Center, a shelter in Los Angeles that takes in abused women. She also renovates low-cost apartments to provide a new home to victims and their children as they get back on their feet.

After what seems like endless breakdowns, Britney Spears is getting her life back on track and sharing her good fortune.
Spears taught a free dance class to eight children aged 4-9 last night, at the Millennium Dance Studio in North Hollywood, reports OK! Magazine.
Though some of the kids were a little too young to know, the extent of Spears’ fame, they were still starstruck. Said one parent of her son’s reaction, “He didn’t really know who Britney was, though he dances to all of her music. So when I told him ‘this is the lady who makes all the songs you like,’ he got very excited.”
Interacting with the kids may be therapeutic for Spears, as she recently lost custody of her two young sons.
