In the world of celebrity news, there’s no shortage of hits and misses. This week, Channing Tatum gets People Magazine‘s top honour and the media gets a little too serious on the Justin Bieber/Selena Gomez split.
HIT: Channing Tatum named People‘s “Sexiest Man of 2012″
I’m not going to lie, this is more of a half-hearted hit. I, like the rest of the internet, believed that the honour would finally go to Ryan Gosling. Seriously, the People’s Sexiest Man Alive award is like the Oscars for him: his name gets thrown around a lot but he never gets the prize. On the other hand, Tatum had a fantastic year. Between 21 Jump Street, Magic Mike (!!), and the three other movies he put out this year, Tatum really got the chance to show off his butt his acting skills.
MISS: Media analysis of the Justin Bieber/Selena Gomez split

I can’t help but shake my head whenever I see another entertainment show talk about the Bieber/Gomez break-up. Every entertainment host I’ve seen has used the kind of sad, serious tone that should only be reserved for disasters when they analysis “what went wrong.” Bieber and Gomez are 18- and 20-years-old respectively. Dear entertainment tools, what do you think happened? Breaking up with someone is hard, but to do it under such scrutiny is unimaginable. Just let them be!
HIT: iCarly fans to finally meet Carly’s dad

I don’t even watch the show, but from what I’ve heard, Carly’s dad is a colonel in the army and hasn’t been in a single episode of iCarly until now. I don’t want to spoil the plot for anyone so I’ll just leave that revelation at that (EW will spoil it though). I do suspect that this will be one tearjerker of an episode because it’s probably one of the sweetest storylines I’ve ever read. Prepare thy tissue boxes!
MISS: The Jersey Shore’s Vinny to get his own show Read more…
Why do people like the insanity of “Jersey Shore?” Well one of the show’s stars, Vinny Guadagnino, explains why people like the show. He thinks the reason is everyone can relate to the show’s cast and their behaviour.
“I’m in a bar with fiftysomething-year-old women, and they’re acting the same way as the little kids were. It’s every single person, it’s every single age group. It’s the old people, they get a kick out of it. The little kids, they just like it because it’s on MTV.”
Speaking of crazy behaviour, we can’t wait to see what happens tonight on the new season.
Miley Cyrus apparently has a fear of flying, and took to Twitter to share her anxiety about flying. Luckily, Vinny Guadagnino offered some advice on how she shouldn’t be scared.
Miley, 19, wrote, “Why do I have an anxiety attack everytime I step on an airplane. I [just] gotta remember what @tishcyrus says… Angels are under the wings.”
Vinny, 23, then responded with, “it’s all Good bro.. U Have a better chance or getting struck by lightening then Getting hurt on a plane.”
Miley finished his thought, writing, “or a coconut falling off the tree and hitting me in the head. Did you know more people die of that then shark attacks?!”
Vinny then said, “so stop worrying ass. PS I miss your husky.”
Good old Vinny. If you are afraid of flying or need someone to take a grenade, he’s always there.
We all know the stars of Jersey Shore would eventually go on to star in movies. Vinny Guadagnino seems to be the first of the guidos.
Perez Hilton explains Vinny just wrapped up an appearance on 90210 where he plays a big celebrity that takes a guy out on a crazy trip to Vegas. Apparently, Vinny did so well that the producers have requested he come back and film more scenes.
Of all the Jersey cast members, Vinny was the most likeable. He has a great personality, and, to be honest, I’d definitely tune in to see how he fares. Rather him to make a 90210 cameo than the Situation!
The episode is set to air sometime in November.
Vinny Guadagnino from Jersey Shore is expanding into acting. The GTL expert will have a guest starting role on CW’s 90210.
The Hollywood Reporter confirms Vinny will be appearing on an episode that airs in November. He’s playing a young, talkative, celebrity who loves the trappings of his fame. Guadagnino’s character will go head-to-head with Liam (Matt Lanter) in a poker game when the cast goes to Vegas.
Another day, another endorsement deal for a Jersey Shore cast member. Vinny Guadagnino has just signed a deal to become the new face of Phillips Norelco.
Norelco and Vinny are hoping to help guys “get their style in check before heading back to school” and include grooming with Phillips Norelco products along with their “GTL.”
“Today, style is all about customization and confidence,” Vinny Guadagnino said in a statement. “GTL – or gym, tan, laundry – can only get you so far. DIY – do-it-yourself – is the real key to personalized style.”
It’s funny that another major brand wants to get on the Jersey Shore bandwagon, despite Abercrombie & Fitch’s offer to pay Jersey Shore cast members not to wear their clothing.
Sources are reporting Vinny Guadagnino left the Jersey Shore house late last night, and he’s not coming back. Apparently Vinny got into an argument with another cast member, and bolted.
TMZ reports that sources also say Vinny had been feeling stressed out, and whatever happened last night could have been the final straw.
TMZ spoke with executive producer Sally Ann Salsano, who said, “We do not comment on the production of the show.”
We would be upset if Vinny has indeed left the show as he seems like the most level headed person on the cast (which isn’t saying much). Perhaps he has finally reached his maximum Snooki intake, and needed to get out of the house. Seems reasonable. If we had to live with Snooki, we would have shot ourselves already.
Vinny Guadagnino took out an unusual entourage while hosting a party in Atlantic City, but everyone seems to have had a good time.
Vinny hosted his first party at Dusk Nightclub in Atlantic City. To commemorate the event, he invited his grandmother, parents, aunts, uncles and cousins for a night of drinking and dancing. “The family came because it was his first time hosting a nightclub and they wanted to be there,” a source tells PEOPLE. And they partied all night – sticking around until 3 a.m.
Okay. We personally find it weird to get tanked in front of Grandma, but whatever floats your boat Vinny.
Pop Eater reports that Jersey Shore star Vinny Guadagnino has teamed up with MTV’s “A Thin Line” campaign, a program that speaks out against LGBT bullying.
Guadagnino posted a video online announcing his support, stating “you’ll never see [Jersey Shore cast members] making fun of somebody for who they are or who they choose to love, especially if they’re lesbian, gay, bisexual or transgender.”
MTV’s “A Thin Line” campaign is a join effort with Facebook’s Network of Support that aims to raise awareness for LGBT teens and put a stop to anti-LGBT hate speak.
“There’s a thin line between free speech and hate speech,” Guadagnino explained. “No one should ever be made fun of, especially for being brave enough to be who they are. If there is one thing in the world that I hate on, it’s a bully.”
Hmm…we hate to be Debbie Downer here, but we’re pretty sure we’ve heard some f-bombs dropped on Jersey Shore… and not just of the four-letter variety, either. We love to see Vinny supporting this very noble cause, but hopefully this also means the cast has put an end to the occasional anti-LGBT name calling that happened during seasons one and two!
Leonardo DiCaprio told the stars of MTV reality show Jersey Shore that he’s a fan of the series, which follows the lives of eight young adults of Italian-American descent as they live together in a house in New Jersey, reports E! News. He ran into the group at a Vida launch party held at Voyeur in West Hollywood.
“I was hanging out in Leonardo DiCaprio’s VIP area,” said Jersey Shore star Vinny Guadagnino. “He came up to me and said, ‘Vinny, you’re a good Italian kid.’ I guess he saw the episode where my family comes. They were all saying I’m a good kid, level-headed, have a good family and stuff like that. He was trying to give me some advice about riding the wave and not letting things get to me. I’ve never been to L.A. before, so this is pretty crazy. It was my first club experience last night, so it was wild.”
