Van Halen Ties the Knot

Eddie Van Halen, guitarist for the band Van Halen, married his girlfriend, Jane Liszewski, reports Perez Hilton. The couple has been together for three years.

The Nuptuals took place Saturday night in the garden of Van Halen’s seven-acre California mansion. Ordained minister Alex Van Halen, Eddie’s brother and drummer for Van Halen, officiated the 20-minute, non-denominational ceremony. Van Halen’s son, Wolfgang, 18, was the best man.

Guests, including Van Halen’s first wife, Valerie Bertinelli, feasted on Arby’s appetizers such as mini hamburgers and corn dogs, and helped themselves to a non-alcoholic lemonade bar in honour of the guitarist’s year-and-a-half of sobriety. Approximately 100 people were in attendance, each of whom received ring pops, candy necklaces, pop rocks, wax lips and custom-printed M&Ms as they left.

Van Halen: Tour Delayed Over Rehab

Rocker EDDIE VAN HALEN has revealed his supergroup’s reunion plans have stalled because he needs to check into rehab.

In a message to fans, the rocker admits he put a planned reunion tour on hold because he felt he wouldn’t be able to perform at his best until he sorted out a few personal demons.

The guitarist had reconciled with original VAN HALEN frontman DAVID LEE ROTH and they announced dates with Van Halen’s brother ALEX and his teenage son WOLFGANG.

But the tour plans hit a snag last month and shows were mysteriously postponed.

Rumours circulated that the reunion itself had hit a stumbling block and that Van Halen and Roth had fallen out – but now the guitarist has revealed the real reason for the postponed dates.

In a letter to Rolling Stone magazine, Van Halen writes, “I would like Van Halen fans to know how much I truly appreciate each and every one of you. Without you there is no Van Halen.

“I have always and will always feel a responsibility to give you my best. At the moment I do not feel that I can give you my best.

“That’s why I have decided to enter a rehabilitation facility to work on myself, so that in the future I can deliver the 110 per cent that I feel I owe you and want to give you.”

He adds, “Some of the issues surrounding the 2007 Van Halen tour are within my ability to change and some are not. As far as my rehab is concerned, it is within my ability to change and change for the better.”

Van Halen Reunion Tour Postponed

The VAN HALEN reunion tour featuring the return of former lead singer DAVID LEE ROTH has been postponed indefinitely.

Tickets for the 40-date tour, which was announced on the band’s website on February 2, were expected to go on sale this weekend.

However, a source closed to the band tells USA TODAY the tour has been put on hold, but declined to give a reason for the delay.

A publicist for EDDIE, ALEX and WOLFGANG VAN HALEN says reports of a cancellation should not be taken as fact until an official statement is released.

Earlier this month, Roth said he hoped the band’s reunion would last beyond their summer tour.

Regardless of future tour plans, Van Halen will be inducted into the Rock and Roll Hall of Fame on March 12. The ceremony could feature Van Halen performing with both Roth and his replacement, SAMMY HAGAR.

Roth Officially Re-Joins Van Halen

DAVID LEE ROTH is officially returning as the front man for VAN HALEN and will tour with the band this summer.

Roth will join founding band members EDDIE and ALEX VAN HALEN, as well as Eddie’s teenage son WOLFGANG, who plays bass.

Eddie confirms the band’s plans to entertainment website TMZ.com saying, “It feels like a whole new beginning to be back with Dave and to be playing with my brother and my son.

“We look forward to going on tour.”

Roth, an original member of Van Halen, quit the group in 1985. He rejoined the band briefly in 1996, only to quit again a few months later. Roth hasn’t performed live with the group since 1984.

According to the band’s representative, JANE LISZEWSKI, the tour will cover most major US cities, including Los Angeles and New York.

Van Halen Are Getting Ready To Jump

VAN HALEN’s reunion plans are set in stone, according to press reports in America.

After months of speculation, the group will hit the road this summer with original frontman DAVID LEE ROTH and leader EDDIE VAN HALEN’s teenage son WOLFGANG on bass.

According to billboard.com a contract has already been signed between Van Halen and tour promoter Live Nation, who will produce a 40-date trek, marking Roth’s first dates with his old bandmates in over 20 years.

It’ll be a family affair all round – joining father and son Eddie and Wolfgang will be original drummer ALEX VAN HALEN.

The group last toured in 2004 with vocalist SAMMY HAGAR, who replaced Roth in the band.

Van Halen Get Serious About Reunion

VAN HALEN’s Rock & Roll Hall of Fame induction seems to have inspired the famously contentious members of the group to get serious about reunion plans.

One-time frontman SAMMY HAGAR recently admitted he feared the group would pull out of any plans to reform for the Hall of Fame ceremony in March, but offered his services to leader EDDIE VAN HALEN, suggesting the guitarist should also include original frontman DAVID LEE ROTH.

And now it looks like Van Halen hasn’t just taken Hagar’s comments to heart – he’s tentatively planning a summer reunion tour with Lee Roth, but admits he’s far from making any official announcements.

Speaking to Rolling Stone magazine, Van Halen says, “Everything is up in the air. We don’t want to say anything prematurely.”

It is not known if the reunion plans will feature Hagar, who replaced Lee Roth in the band.

Hagar Fears The Worst About Van Halen’s Hall Of Fame Honour

Former VAN HALEN star SAMMY HAGAR fears the group’s newly announced induction to the Rock & Roll Hall of Fame could be a big problem if he and his warring bandmates can’t decide what to perform.

The WHY CAN’T THIS BE LOVE singer replaced DAVID LEE ROTH in the rock group, and insists both frontmen should get the chance to perform – even though they’ve both fallen out with bandleader EDDIE VAN HALEN.

But he fears that Van Halen will pull the plug and opt not to perform at all.

He says, “The talk amongst us so far has been that we’re probably not going to play, because of the awkward situation.

“We’re not like mortal enemies or anything (but) there’s just some weird quirks.

“Van Halen has always been unpredictable, anything can happen. If we get to play two songs, I’ll be happy to sing one, and have Dave do the other one. I think that would be perfect.

“If there’s only one song, well, then that could be kinda interesting.”

Hall of Fame bosses will be hoping to avoid a repeat of last year’s induction controversies – punk icons the SEX PISTOLS refused to show up and the original members of BLONDIE bickered with singer DEBORAH HARRY over the chance to perform with her at the event.

Van Halen Reunion in the Works?

After a failed radio attempt, David Lee Roth is hoping to be a part of Van Halen again, E! Online reports today.

Roth took over the helms for shock jock Howard Stern on CBS radio, but only last there four months before he was cancelled.

Roth was the lead singer of Van Halen during its heyday in the early 80s. Eddie Van Halen and Roth had a spat, and the two went their separate ways. Roth went on to a mildly successful solo career. The band got back together briefly in 1996 when Roth recorded two new songs with the band for their first greatest hits album, but haven?t been together since.

“I see it absolutely as an inevitability. There’s contact between the two camps, and they have legitimate management; Irv Azoff is part of their loop now,” Roth told Billboard magazine.
