When The Kooks are in the studio they’re focused and most importantly, sober. Watch Hugh and Luke explain their reasoning below.
The Kooks released a new album called “Junk of the Heart,” and you would think Hugh and Luke would be very excited about it. Well, they seemed rather indifferent to be honest. We spoke about that and why they don’t care about critics.

Graffiti6 is starting to make their North American invasion, and they are hitting up the Tonight Show. Does this sound familiar? Well the Beatles made the exact same journey over 40 years ago. Naturally, @jordans_life had to make some comparisons.
Nick plays World of Warcraft. Not only that, he’s the head of his guild, demonstrating that it IS possible to juggle being a hardcore gamer with being a top-selling recording artist.
During a LIVE interview on andPOP.com Nick Carter gave out a number and took phone calls from his fans. These were real phone calls from real fans who we gave exclusive access to one of the biggest recording artists of our generation.
There were great questions about music, fitness, the backstreet boys but the most popular question, however, was about his underwear. In this clip Nick talks about his his ‘Haynes’ and covering his fans with glow in the dark paint.
When releasing new music today, half the battle is online promotion. However, contests, signed merch and giveaways aren’t always the best solutions. When working on their latest album, Hedley came up with a brilliant idea, they decided to make trailers.
It’s hard to prepare for an interview with Hedley. So in this interview, we threw caution to the wind, got a 24 of beer and broadcast the interview live on our USTREAM (andPOP.tv). Eventually Jacob, Dave and @jordans_life ended up talking about hairy legs, their newest music video and more.
Diamandis from Marina and The Diamonds talks to us about her very serious disease. It’s called synaesthetic. And we lied, it’s not a disease. More like a cool condition. Diamandis explains further.
Would you be embarrassed if someone scrolled through your iPod? We sit down with Spee and Brendan to talk about the diverse music on their playlist.
Marina and The Diamonds are working on some new music, but Marina is being very secretive about it. Although the release has been delayed, she let’s us in on some secrets about the new album, and how alcohol changed her life.
In another edition of “Celebrities Tweet Dumb Things”, Tameka Raymond is the next person to speak profanities on the social media website.
Forget Jessica Simpson talking about her bathroom breaks, forget about Ashton Kutcher not getting his facts straight before hitting ‘send’. Usher’s ex-wife Tameka has some serious explaining to do about this recent tweet:
The 40-year-old newly single mom suggests gay men are more easily identifiable, because, I’m guessing, she’s hit on one too many guys at the bar she thought were straight.
The Huffington Post reports Tameka tried to recant what she wrote, claiming she only meant those “participating in trickery”. It seems like Tameka’s come down with a case of the ol’ ‘I will say whatever I want unless millions of Twitter followers yell at me’. You ever notice how these celebrities are so easily swayed to take back their words if they don’t get the reaction they want? For once, I kind of wish someone would just speak their mind and continue to stand by it, no matter how many Twitter followers they lose.
The nominees were announced last night at the Nokia Theatre in L.A. It was a great way to wrap up a stellar year in music. The nominations were followed by a spectacular concert featuring Lady Gaga and Usher.

It has been a day of huge Bieber surprises – and it’s not even Christmas yet!
Fans waited in line for days through the cold and rain in the Rockefeller Plaza in anticipation of the big surprise Justin Bieber promised via Twitter for his performance on the Today Show on Wednesday.
“Im bringing a BIG SURPRISE with me to the @todayhow performance this morning. I want to make this great for the fans. they deserve it,” Bieber tweeted earlier today. Boy, did he ever deliver with an outstanding performance of his song “The Christmas Song (Chestnuts Roasting on an Open Fire),” with none other than his friend and mentor Usher.
“so blessed! thank you to all the fans who camped out for days for the @todayshow this morning!! Had to bring out big bro @UsherRaymondIV!!” Bieber tweeted moments after getting off stage, adding ”Im not done with my SPECIAL GUESTS!! Watch @theviewtv today because Im bringing out another major surprise! #Mistletoe!
So who did Bieber surprise the View audience with? Mary J. Blige! Bet you didn’t see that one coming! Blige came out during Bieber’s performance of his single, “Mistletoe,” to loud screams of excitement. Check out the video below.
But the surprises didn’t stop there! Bieber took to his Twitter once again, after the performance, saying ”today just keeps getting better..now my NEW MUSIC VIDEO with@boyzIImen for #FALALA is OUT!!”
Two outstanding performances with amazing musical guests, and a music video?! It doesn’t get better than that. Does this kid ever stop? It’s not even December yet and he’s full of so much holiday cheer. Without further ado, here’s Bieber’s new Christmas video:
T.G.I.F.! I spent all week wanting to watch a video that’s a little Elvis-y and a little Usher-y mixed with a hint of crazy white woman. Finally, the day has arrived!
In Atlanta last weekend, The Superficial reports Usher stopped by the Little 5 Points Halloween Parade and parked his expensive gas guzzler in a handicapped spot. The audacity! One southern woman had a huge problem with that (as does everybody else that isn’t a jerk) and had no difficulty giving him a piece of her mind.
Now, Usher being the high profile guy that is he, probably wanted to shove some Benjamins down her mouth to get her to go away. The video of the brawl TMZ posted is non-stop entertainment. The best part is the random Elvis impersonator trying to intervene. Sometimes you get into a fight and all you want is The King to step in and rescue you, you know?
The fact that another rich famous celeb has parked in a handicapped zone just because they were too lazy to park in a regular spot that’s a bit further from the store entrance takes me back to that song comedian Denis Leary once wrote. It’s appropriately called “I’m an Asshole” and I wonder if Usher has this on his iPod.
Understandably, Bieber wanted to win at the Grammys on Sunday, and its understandable he’s a little bummed he didn’t win. And of course millions of little Bieber fans are disappointed about his loss, but Justin is taking the event in stride.
“Yes, I wanted to win, but I had an amazing night and performed with Usher and Jaden. That’s so huge!” Bieber told PopEater.
It’s actually refreshing to see this kid lose at something. Justin has $100 Million in the bank, his own biopic, and millions of screaming fans. Isn’t only fair he give someone else the spotlight for a change? And in all fairness, he did get a fair bit of attention at the Grammys during his performance.
So Justin learned a valuable lesson – you can’t always get your way. He’s growing up!!!!!!
Jamie Foxx showed off his muscle Thursday night while attending a show in Hollywood where his buddy Usher was performing.
Rumor has it Foxx got into an altercation with his former manager, reports RadarOnline. A witness says “The fight spilled to the outside area and I don’t think Usher even noticed because the place was so packed with people. When they got outside security intervened and after some cops approached both men seemed to make-up with one another before they left.”
Hollywood Police say no charges have been filed. We wonder what the dispute was over. Perhaps the Manager made some comment to Foxx like, “You would still be on ‘In Living Color’ without me.” And that comment would be completely unfair. Even if the show wasn’t cancelled, Foxx would have been canned anyways because he really wasn’t that funny.
Even though he doesn’t have a drug problem, crack might be in the future for Justin Bieber… a voice crack or two that is.
There’s no question that Justin Bieber has become one of the biggest young musical stars ever, but there’s one thing that he has to battle to ensure the success continues: Puberty. Despite the imminent voice drop, Bieber has a plan.
Bieber was interviewed by Vibe and was asked if he thinks his voice changing could hurt his career.
“Everyone’s voice changes. Puberty is a natural thing,” he said. “I have the best vocal coach in the world and we’re working on my voice and doing what I need to do. It’s not like as soon as you hit puberty you stop singing.”
Bieber also said that having Usher by his side through this rough time will keep him strong. “Usher is the best mentor in the world and he survived puberty,” he said. “He tells me what to do, what not to do.”
If the whole voice thing doesn’t work out well for him, there’s always auto-tune
Things are certainly going right for teen sensation Justin Bieber. He has the #1 album in the country, every teenage girl loves him, and he has amassed a huge online following. However what would have happened if Usher hadn’t found the Canadian singer in Stratford, Ontario? Bieber says he would have become a car mechanic.
“I always wanted to be a car mechanic,” the 16-year-old told Jay Leno on Thursday’s edition of “The Tonight Show.” And Justin can actually drive a car, having hit the legal driving age last month. “I got a Range Rover,” he said. “It’s my first car. I don’t want to get too flashy.”
Bieber also explains how he was discovered by Usher.
Lionel Richie and Quincy Jones used the Grammys to recruit more stars to their project of remaking “We are the World,” reports E! News. Bono and Lady Gaga are the latest to sign on. They will join Usher, Jason Mraz, Akon, Jennifer Hudson, Carlos Santana, Enrique Iglesias and Toni Braxton at the recording Monday in Los Angeles. There may be up to 100 singers.
Michael Jackson’s three children will take the stage during a planned tribute to the pop icon during the Grammy Awards on Sunday, reports E! News. Several other family members will also be in the audience.
Madonna, Mariah Carey, Beyonce and Robbie Williams are just a few of the superstars planning to record numbers for an upcoming Michael Jackson tribute album, reports the Daily Star. Whitney Houston, Usher and 12-year-old Shaheen Jafargholi of Britain’s Got Talent will also reportedly be featured alongside legends like Stevie Wonder, Diana Ross and Lionel Richie.
“The idea came from the memorial concert,” said a source. “Many fans asked if cover versions would be released and it seemed a wonderful idea. Some of the biggest stars in the world have indicated they’d like to take part to pay their own respects and tribute to the King of Pop. This cover album is sure to be a massive worldwide hit with fans and could raise a fortune for Michael’s favourite charities.”
Jafargholi, who performed “Who’s Loving You” at the memorial held for Jackson in Los Angeles, will record that track, as well as the song “Ben.” Carey will be singing “I’ll Be There,” while Williams will perform “Man in the Mirror.”
So where do great singing careers start? Apparently the Statford, Ontario Idol singing competition. That’s where this YouTube sensation got his start, and is now causing a stir on the music scene. Justin spoke with Jenn on a recent trip to Toronto.
Usher filed for divorce Friday from his wife of nearly two years, Tameka Foster-Raymond, according to mtvnews.com. The petition, filed at Superior Court in Atlanta, did not give a reason for the split.
The marriage between Usher, 30, and Foster, 38, reportedly has been strained for months now. Sources have said the pair haven’t lived under the same roof for quite some time, as Usher has relocated to Nevada to work on his next solo album. Pictures and video of Usher, alongside Jermaine Dupri and others, partying in Las Vegas have appeared online in recent weeks.
It’s not unusual for an actor to release an album, or a musician to star in movies and television. What’s rare is to do both before the age of 16. (And to be a pretty hot dancer, to boot.)
Mishon just became legal to drive in the United States, but he has already starred in three seasons of ABC’s Lincoln Heights and is releasing his second LP, The Yearbook, this fall.
With a two singles circulating the airwaves, “Excuse Me, Mama” and “Just a Kiss,” attention is flying fast and heavy at the budding triple threat. Mishon was taken under the wing of producer extraordinaire Vincent Herbert, who signed the young R&B singer to his new label Streamline Records, a joint venture with Interscope. Herbert, known for working with major pop stars such as Lady GaGa, Destiny’s Child and Toni Braxton, produced The Yearbook alongside Mishon.
Usher is keeping busy these days – both in the recording studio and on a movie set.
On the musical end of things, the R&B singer has been working on his sixth studio album and recently revealed that it will be called “Monster.”
The Grammy winner, who is recording the follow-up to 2008′s “Here I Stand” in Las Vegas and Atlanta, has even brought in producer Jermaine Dupri for the project, according to People.
Usher’s wife Tameka Raymond was released form Sírio-Libanês Hospital in São Paulo, Brazil on Monday according to E! Online, after an 11-day stay recuperating from a liposuction surgery. Usher had to cancel his Grammy appearance to see his wife in Brazil.
During her Surgery, Raymond suffered both cardiac and respiratory arrest when she was anesthetized for the liposuction procedure. This prompted doctors to place her in an induced coma for approximately 24 hours in order to avoid “unnecessary complications.”
Although Raymond is no longer in the Sírio-Libanês Hospital, it still isn’t clear if she is staying in Brazil or whether she is on route to the United States.
Usher, 30, and Raymond, 37, have yet to release any details regarding Raymond’s condition. The couple recently welcomed their second son in December.
Tameka Foster was rushed to hospital recently due to complications with a routine surgery. The operation took place in Brazil. Husband Usher Raymond was forced to cancel his performances at the Recording Academy and Clive Davis’s pre-Grammy Gala. The family is asking for privary during this hard time. However a spokesperson for Usher told PEOPLE that “Tameka Foster is in stable condition after suffering complications from routine surgery in Brazil.” Usher and Tameka have two children and have been married since August of 2007. Our thoughts are with the family.
It’s true, the Grammy Awards included a star studded lineup. But unfortunately, Usher, who was set to perform as well, canceled out last minute.
According to E! News, the artist is dealing with a family crisis- possibly to do with his wife’s plastic surgery operation.
His wife Tameka Foster, 37, apparently suffered complications from a cosmetic procedure in Brazil.
Davis, president of Usher’s J Records label, announced that the entertainer and his mother phoned earlier in the day to cancel his rehearsal and subsequent performance at the Beverly Hilton because of a “serious illness in the family.”
The couple have been married since August 2007 and have two children. Foster formerly worked as Usher’s stylist.
Teenagers will direct Usher’s new video. The singer will let young directors between the ages of thirteen to eighteen shoot his latest video.
For those interested, just log onto Got-Noise.com and apply for the contest, which is sponsored by the Body by Milk campaign. Those who are selected by the contest will have the chance to go to Los Angeles to work in one of two teams in March.
Both teams will have to come up with an original concept for Usher’s video within one week. And in case you were wondering, Usher will be there, offering his advice to each team.
Usher said in a statement, “I am so excited to be the first artist involved with the Body by Milk/ Got Noise music video program, as it gives me another way to give back, inspire young people and also reinvent music videos.”
The two videos will debut in April, when fans will vote on the winner. The winning team will receive prizes including tickets to an Usher concert, Apple laptops and editing software.
Usher has rehired his mother, Jonnetta Patton, as his manager, the pair told People.com.
Usher’s mother replaces Benny Medina, who replaced her back in May 2007. An unknown source told People Usher felt that he had “really poor management” and wanted his mother back to manage him professionally.
Usher has enjoyed success with his latest album, “Here I Stand,” with his debut single “Love In This Club” hitting #1 on the Billboard charts this year. However, he has not enjoyed the same amount of success as he did with his 2004 album “Confessions.” None of the other singles off the most recent album have cracked the Billboard top 10.
Medina defended his role as Usher’s manager by telling People in a statement: “With an artist like Usher, the bar is set really high. Whether it was management, marketing or the music, we achieved a #1 single and a #1 album,” he said. “It is a completely new day and time in music now.”
