Perez Hilton reports Ugly Betty‘s Ana Ortiz gave birth to a baby girl Saturday in New York City. Oritz and her husband, musician Noah Lebenzon welcomed their first child – Paloma Louise Lebenzon – at 4:25 p.m. She weighed a healthy 7 lbs., 10 oz.
“She is elated and completely glowing,” said a representative for Ortiz. “She is surrounded by her friends and family and so happy to be a mom. She is just really enjoying the moment. The baby is absolutely beautiful.”
Fans of “Ugly Betty” can breathe a sign of relief.
Despite speculation that it was on the bubble, the comedy about the affable Plain Jane was one of 12 series given early renewals by ABC on Thursday for next fall’s lineup.
Some of the shows being brought back were no surprise due to strong ratings, including “Grey’s Anatomy,” “Desperate Housewives,” “Brothers & Sisters” and “Dancing with the Stars.” Also returning is “Lost,” another expected move given the network’s agreement with the show’s creators to end the drama after six seasons.
Nikki Blonsky has filmed a guest appearance on the ABC hit comedy series “Ugly Betty” according to E! Online.
This will mark the first prime-time TV appearance for Blonsky, who gained attention worldwide playing Tracy Turnblad in the musical remake of the 1988 film “Hairspray”. Blonsky’s co-stars in the film included John Travolta, Christopher Walken, Zac Efron, Amanda Bynes, Queen Latifah, Michelle Pfeiffer, among other A-list actors.
Previous guest stars include “Kiss” frontman Gene Simmons and Lucy Liu, who guest starred as a lawyer named Grace Chin. Recently, Lindsay Lohan has appeared on the show as Betty’s former classmate.
The “Hairspray” star reportedly plays an assistant at “Elle Magazine” who befriends Betty, played by America Ferrera.
Blonsky turns 20 on Sunday.
In May of this year, Lindsay Lohan signed on for a sex-episode run on Ugly Betty, her first appearance being last season’s finale on May 22. Lohan played Kimmie, an old schoolmate of America Ferrara’s character, Betty Suarez.
Lohan was set to guest in five more episodes this season. But, the latest news is that Lohan’s appearance in the series has been cut from six episodes to four. Next week’s episode is the last episode that was written, shot and edited for Lohan.
“Inside sources” are claiming that Lohan is more interested in playing herself. Further, the New York Post reported that a bout of misbehaviour – including trashing her dressing room and a pantsing incident – caused her to be dropped from the show. Apparently, this week’s episode involved Lohan’s character pantsing Betty; but, when Ferrera in turn did the same to Lohan, Lohan was…fully revealed, Britney-style. Another bizarre incident was reported in which Lohan obsessively cut out pictures of herself from tabloids
A source from Lohan’s camp says these stories aren’t true.
Other sources are reporting that the cut is the result of a simple girl vs. girl on-set rivalry. Maybe Lohan was jealous that Ferrera’s character could have coloured elastics on her braces…That’s what happens when you pair a Mean Girl with an Ugly Betty.
The rumours are true. Lindsay Lohan has joined the show “Ugly Betty”. The “Mean Girls” star was spotted on set, on her first day of work, on Saturday in Los Angeles. Lohan will appear on the season finale of “Ugly Betty” and will play an old school friend of Betty Suarez, a.k.a. America Ferara. Lohan is expected to stick around on the show for awhile after signing up for five episodes next season.
This is not the first television show appearance for Lohan who has also had cameo appearances on “That 70s Show.” Currently, the star is said to be working on three films — “Ye Olde Times,” “The Manson Girls,” and “Dare to Love Me.”
Both Charlize Theron and “Ugly Betty” cutie David Blue were robbed over the weekend.
The New York Post reported that Theron was out of town while her Hollywood home was burglarized. “No suspects were seen, and we don’t have a list property taken yet,” LAPD officer Sara Faden said.
Blue, who plays Cliff on “Ugly Betty,” however, was not as lucky as to be absent from the scene of the crime. He was mugged at gunpoint after the “Betty” Season 2 wrap party, also in Hollywood. Blue wrote about the experience in his
MySpace blog, saying he was very angry but glad he was able to keep a cool head in the moment.
“There’s a sad part of me that is just happy that I got away alive and that my friend wasn’t hurt. There’s another sad part of me that is happy they got me and not America Ferrera, Michael Urie, Judith Light or anybody else at the party with WAY more money than myself. There’s another sad part of me that is so angry that I just want to see these people put behind bars as soon as possible. It’s sad how quickly your life can be affected… and even more sad how angry a few people’s SAD choices can affect people’s lives.
“It bothers me that this was Hollywood. I’ve lived in New York, Astoria, Queens, Florida, Kentucky, Virginia, Texas, all over… and this crap happened in the heart of Hollywood near a MAJOR intersection. I’m just glad we were smart enough to hand over our money so quickly. Because I can tell you, even with a gun in my face, my first reaction was to nail this guy in the face with as many punches as I could muster… but instead I looked at my female friend and realized it’d be better to hand over my wallet and call the police.”
Blue later edited the entry, thanking fans for listening to him vent, and urging them to be careful on the streets.
Lindsay Lohan’s days of spa treatments and shopping sprees are numbered. The recently sober starlet is reportedly set to get back to work with a guest appearance on Ugly Betty.
The 21 year-old actress has been taking time off since her highly publicized stint in rehab and has since vowed to steer clear of Hollywood until she shoots her next movie. But the New York Post reports Lohan will make her return to the acting scene with a coveted role on the hit show.
A representative for Lindsay reportedly told the paper that once the writer’s strike is over, the deal will be made official and Lohan will play a fallen beauty queen who ends up working as an assistant manager of a fast food restaurant.
The show’s main character Betty Suarez, tries to rescue the new girl and get her a job at the magazine she works at.
Lohan’s rep is rumoured to have said the actress is “totally looking forward to” her role.
Previous celebrity cameos on the show include Victoria Beckham and Lucy Lui.
UGLY BETTY star AMERICA FERRERA has slammed reports she is marrying longtime boyfriend RYAN PIERS WILLIAMS.
Media reports claimed Williams proposed last month, with the couple quietly planning their wedding.
Ferrera’s representative, CARRIE BYALICK, rubbishes the reports, insisting her client “is not engaged.”
The couple met while they were attending film school in California.
The 22-year-old received the Golden Globe Award for Best Actress in a Comedy on January 16 and her series Ugly Betty was named Best Comedy Series.

Hit show UGLY BETTY will soon welcome a real life supermodel on the award winning series – NAOMI CAMPBELL will star on the small screen playing a “loony” fashionista.
The fiery beauty, who recently pleaded guilty to assaulting her housekeeper with her mobile phone, will make her TV acting debut on the fashion magazine-based show later this year .
She says of her role: “On Ugly Betty I’ll play a loony who loves to shop and can’t find a man. I like that sort of role.”
The show picked up two Golden Globes on Monday- Best Television Series (Musical/Drama) and Best Performance by an Actress In A Television Series (Musical/Comedy) for AMERICA FERRERA.

AMERICA FERRERA hopes her role as a frumpy secretary in hit U.S. television show UGLY BETTY helps young women become confident with their body image.
Ferrera, who plays a New York City girl who manages to get a job in a body fascist fashion company in the program, thinks it’s about time a popular show starred a woman of an average weight.
The 22-year-old says, “To me, Betty is an opportunity to represent a generation of young women who don’t recognize themselves on anything they are watching.
“The whole issue of body image and weight exists for everybody in the West. I’m not a model, I’m a normal human being.
“I have days when I feel like I’m queen of the universe, then others when I feel as though I just want to crawl back into bed because I feel gross.”

Rebecca Romijn will join the cast of ABC’s Ugly Betty in the new year.
She will take on the role of the mysterious woman behind the mask who has been plotting with Vanessa Williams’ Wilhelmina Slater to take over Mode magazine from Bradford Meade, ET Online reports.
The character who will be played by Romijn has already been seen on the show, but in profile and covered in gauze. A different actress has been supplying the voice.
Since the series premiered this fall, Wilhelmina has been doing her best to take over the reins of the fashion mag.
Romijn’s first episode should air in time for the February sweeps.
