What she’s wearing: T-Swift was spotted in NYC in mustard short shorts, a yellow and navy letterman jacket, wayfarer sunglasses, and her guitar.
Why we love it: If the singer wasn’t 22 you would have thought she was heading back to high school in this look. Even if she was going to hit the books, she’d be looking cute doing so. The mustard yellow is a hot fall colour, but the short shorts and the sunglasses still scream summer! Also you can’t go wrong with a guitar, one of the coolest accessories one could possibly have. Just make sure you know how to play it.
Takeaway: The letterman jacket is a hot item for guys — so ladies don’t be afraid to shop in the men’s section and find one for yourself. (Really you should always take a stroll in the men’s section to snag some unique items.) Who needs a boyfriend to lend you theirs when you can be an independent women and pay for one your own? Can I get an amen!

What she’s wearing: The Canadian pop singer was snapped in colourful printed pants and a white blouse on her way to an interview in London, England.
Why we love it: Abstract graphic prints have been a huge trend for the past year, but we hardly see them in pant form. Jepsen‘s pants make a bold statement and are a nice change from jeans and coloured denim/pants we usually see. Her loose, white blouse provides contrast to the bold pants and contrasts the slim cut of the pants.
Takeaway: Pair printed pants with a neutral/solid top to add balance. If printed pants aren’t available, printed leggings are another option to consider.

Compared to the other things Lady Gaga says or wears, a simple new tattoo is pretty unimpressive. Well, I mean it would be pretty dramatic if she tattooed Mother Monster on her forehead in Bauhaus 93 font but her tattoo is a simple anchor tattoo.
It’s pretty darn cute, especially because it’s presumably dedicated to her model boyfriend Taylor Kinney (d’aw). Gaga met the hunky dude on the set of Gaga’s video where she played a mermaid. That clarifies her tweet SO MUCH. Along the the photo she said: ”New Tat. Stamp of His Mermaid.”
While we don’t necessarily advise getting tattoos in tribute of your boyfriend or girlfriend, we think this one is pretty adorbz! Gaga got her new ink at the Amsterdam Tattoo Museum, while on the European leg of her Born This Way Ball tour.

Okay directioners, it’s official. Take deep breaths and prepare yourself for all this goodness. One Direction’s second album Take Me Home has an official release date —November 13 but if you haven’t already noticed, you’re looking at their new album artwork!
The boy’s new first single is titled “Live While We’re Young,” which we found out about in last week’s video announcement. You can officially store your own copy of the single on October 1 in Canada/US and September 30 in the UK. “Live While We’re Young” will premiere on radio stations worldwide starting Monday, September 24 so don’t forget to get those requests in — you’ll be able to jam out in your car. Duh.
During the major 1D announcement this morning, Niall said: “As you know, our new album is going to be called Take Me Home and it is available to pre-order from the 3rd of September at midnight.” We are totally looking forward what they have in store. They’ve been working with a handful of first-class producers and writers such as Rami Yacoub, Carl Falk and Savan Kotecha (wrote and produced “What Makes You Beautiful), Ed Sheeran, Dr. Luke and many more.

All the papers are reporting that Katy Perry went to Disneyland to “get over” John Mayer, which seems ridiculous considering:
1. The pair only dated for several weeks so we highly doubt she hid under her duvet with double chocolate ice cream and wrote a new song called “Dear John the Sequel: What happened After Taylor Swift.”
2. She was dating John Mayer. Do you really think the recovery time took all that long?

Carly Rae Jepsen attended the annual US Open Arthur Ashe Kids’ Day on Saturday afternoon in New York, where she wooed the crowd with her tennis skills and sweet vocals.
Her performance of “Call Me Maybe,” definitely brought a party to the court, joined by The Wanted (who smashed it with “Glad You Came/Chasing The Sun”), Owl City, Rachel Crow, Matthew Morrison, Olympian Missy Frank, tennis star Novak Djokovic and more. You’d think things couldn’t get better after some dude walked out with a lawnmower — remember from the music video? The whole thing turned into a huge dance off/flash mob and it seems as though the whole crowd enjoyed it as well. The Wanted’s Max George took to Twitter to pass along a message to Carly:

Heightening the Chris Brown/Rihanna drama, Joan Rivers has now made domestic violence-related joke in regards to Rihanna’s recent interview with Oprah where she admitted to still being in love with Chris Brown.
Rivers, who has been known for her harsh sense of humour, was obviously not impressed. Taking to Twitter, she said:

While those tweets have since been deleted, Rivers gave some advice to Rihanna. Subsequently, the comedian also invited the singer to join her on her television show:
I personally think Rihanna was very brave to stand up for herself. But seeing that Joan Rivers never seems to get offended when people give her negative feedback, I hardly think she took Rihanna’s comments harshly.
That being said, Twitter users have been calling Rivers’ joke ignorant and in bad taste. Do you think her joke went too far?
It was a hard couple of days for Directioners, most commonly known as hard-core fan girls for One Direction. One of the members Zayn Malik had enough of the hate he’d been receiving online and decided to delete his Twitter account, which obviously caused one huge frenzy. The majority of the comments were based on his relationship with Perrie Edwards. Before he decided to leave, he sent out a message to his followers:
Instantly, 1D fans were trending messages for Zayn to come back. Thankfully he looked past all the negative tweets and realized that Directioners could not live through this “crisis.” Especially since more than half of them dedicate their whole life to the boys, which include tweeting the heart throb daily.
In better news, if you didn’t wake up extra early this morning to hear the boy’s big announcement, it’s that their new single “Live While We’re Young,” will be on presale at midnight. The song will be their first single off their new album coming out this November. By the looks of the video, they’re still goofing around and enjoying what they do best. Who knows, maybe their new song will sound a bit different from what they’ve done in the past to match their new looks. Are you excited?

There are few words to describe how I felt last night when I heard about the upcoming nuptials of Canadians Avril Lavigne and Nickelback frontman Chad Kroeger. I hazily remember feeling shocked and even manically excited, which sometimes happens when I’m scared and confused.
Lavigne, 27 and Kroeger, 37 were collaborating in February for her upcoming fifth studio album and told very few people about their relationship. After six months of dating People says he proposed with a 14-karat diamond ring.
Post after-shock, people are finally emerging from the corners of their bathrooms where they locked themselves, crying on the floor. Many took to Twitter with astute comments and questions about the relationship.

It seems like Miley Cyrus is going through tons of changes lately. She just got engaged to Liam Hemsworth and has a new awesome Twiggy-esque look. Some of that evolution is bound to inspire her music right? We’re super excited for Cyrus’ fourth studio album, which is supposed to introduce us to her new sound. We can expect some great collaborations too, considering she worked with Pharrell Williams himself.
Cyrus is featured in the new song “Decisions” by Bogore. And while I wish she was more heavily featured (she only comes in the chorus), I’m digging the dubstep vibe.

Joe Jonas celebrated his 23rd birthday on Wednesday and someone decided it would be a great idea to freak him out with a creepy-looking birthday cake of his face.
Tweeting a photo of the dessert, he also wrote: “My Face cake last night… creepy and awesome..”
Personally, I would probably be quite weirded out to see a cake of my face glaring at me. But if someone took the time to get such a detailed design right to the beauty marks on my face, I guess it would be best to just think of it as a very, very high form of flattery.
Ed Sheeran used Instagram as a weapon yesterday when he tweeted this adorable photo oh him with Taylor Swift all like: “Hey, look at us hanging out. SORRY you can’t hear our collaboration until Oct. 22!”
The two have been working on a duet for her forthcoming album Red. He tweeted the photo with the comment: ”Duet coming soon….” Their tortuous tweet comes just after sharing a video of them singing his song “Lego House.”

Back when One Direction was filming the music video for “What Makes You Beautiful” on a sunny beach in Malibu (must be nice), they sat down on the sand, gathered Kumbaya-style and sang Oasis’ classic “Wonderwall.”
In the video, Niall sits on a cooler playing the guitar like Noel Gallagher in his flashy aviators, while they all harmonize in front of the surf. The video is kind of retro One Direction (check out Liam’s hair!) but it’s still a good cover to wrap up this last bit of summer.
Their rendition has received harsh criticism from 1D haters who say British music has descended from the likes of The Beatles and Oasis to One Direction. @supersonicyy0uth tweeted: “one direction have covered Oasis is that why it’s raining so much, the sky is crying?”
Is Rihanna too sexy for skin care? Apparently she is, considering Nivea didn’t renew her endorsement for another year. The new CEO of Nivea’s parent company Stefan Heidenreich said to German media: “I do not understand how to bring the core brand of Nivea in conjunction with Rihanna. Nivea is a company which stands for trust, family and reliability.”
If you follow Rihanna on Twitter, you would know that she’s an avid photo uploader and anything goes (ie. smoking marijuana, partying, IV drips). She recently took time out of her fun-filled holidays in Barbados to make it clear to everyone that she saw Heidenreich’s comments, by uploading a picture of him captioned: “No caption necessary.”
TMZ caught up with Rihanna in LA this weekend, where they taunted her, asking if she still used Nivea. Okay, what kind of stupid question is that? She’s obviously going to get pissed. The pap continued: “You look great Rihanna, seriously though.” She replied sarcastically: “Even without Nivea?”

Lindsay Lohan’s changing hair colours warrant an entire post so when Miley Cyrus chops off her locks it’s like OMG guys crazy. She documented the Sunday night hair cut with a series of mysterious tweets, including a photo of a hairdresser cutting her entire bun of hair:
The edgy, short look has a Twiggy-vibe, which isn’t surprising since she foreshadowed the cut several years ago in an interview with ABC when she said: “One day I’m going to cut my hair like [Twiggy], I know I am.”
Although the new look is reflective of her daring personality, she drew some heat from disapproving fans when she started trending on Twitter. Miley confidently responded to haters with: “if you don’t have something nice to say don’t say anything at all. my hair is attached to my head no one else’s and it’s going bye bye.” Hours later she wrote: “my dad @billraycyrus used to tell me “opinions are are like ass holes every body has one.” LOVE my hair <3 feel so happy, pretty and free.”

Miley Cyrus has been showing off her rockin’ toned body lately. But after posting a photo of herself, some fans think the singer/actress may be taking her exercise regimen a bit too far.
Tweeting “Fiancé jeans. but for real though”, the star displays her tiny waste and jutting hip bones while wearing her fiancé Liam Hemsworth’s sweatpants.
But despite growing concerns that Miley has lost too much weight over the past few months, her personal trainer Mari Windsor has defended her by saying that “people need to chill out.”
“She’s healthy and she feels good, that’s the main thing,” Windsor said. “She’s smart about her body. She wanted to sculpt her body, that’s all.”
This isn’t the first time Miley has been under fire for her weight. Back in April, she was forced to defend herself.
“For everyone calling me anorexic, I have a gluten and lactose allergy,” Cyrus explained about her weight loss.
Come on, guys. While Miley has lost a lot of weight recently, it’s really not up to us to decide what’s healthy. People come in all different shapes and sizes. Who are we to judge what Miley’s body should look like? After all, we’re not even professional doctors.

While Carly Rae Jepsen is doing her best to dodge an alleged nude photo scandal, Lady Gaga just puts it all out there. Her recently posted nude photo is certainly one way to grab attention, whether you think it’s artistic or not. She posted the photo to her social networking site LittleMonsters.com and although she supposedly has nude underwear on, it’s hard to tell.
Alongside the photo she wrote: ”Resting after BARNEY’S GAGA WORKSHOP OPENING IN NY.” Her new site has tons of other amazing photos, including pics of her and Lindsay Lohan’s slumber party at the Chateau Marmont.
If you think about it, Lady Gaga is doing a total solid for Kristen Stewart and Robert Pattinson by taking some of the unwanted media attention away from them. Plus, you’ve got to give it to the girl for baring it all for her fans!
