Disturbing reactions to Chris Brown’s Grammy “comeback”

Chris Brown showed off his impressive footwork at last night’s Grammys but his presence left others feeling queasy. His controversial return to the Grammys comes about three years after he assaulted ex-girlfriend Rihanna, a night before he was scheduled to appear at the 51st Grammy Awards. Although the performance was seen as his “comeback” it was also seen as some type of screw you to any women who has experienced domestic violence.

However, some Tweeters released a slew of upsetting posts. If Brown’s performance didn’t upset you, these posts will probably do the job. They’re only a few of the countless tweets.

The 54th Grammys are on tomorrow night and is hosted by none-other than hip-hop legend LL Cool J – and if you can’t be there, might as well stalk those who are via Twitter.

#TwitterBlackout: What Up With That?

Are you feeling alone in the Twitterverse today? Well, it could easily be the result of the latest social-media outcry or “protest” against Twitter’s recent announcement.

It basically outlines the powers at be over at Twitter are planning on blocking certain tweets in different countries, because the concept of “free speech” and “expression” is different around the world. Twitter doesn’t want any drama or legal complications.

Friday’s New York Times article “Censoring of Tweets Sets Off #Outrage” did the best job of explaining what international users can expect from Twitter’s new policy — and why it’s scary as shit:

So if someone posts a message that insults the monarchy of Thailand, which is punishable by a jail term, it will be blocked and unavailable to Twitter users in that country, but still visible elsewhere. What is more, Twitter users in Thailand will be put on notice that something was removed: A gray box will show up in its place, with a clear note: “Tweet withheld,” it will read. “This tweet from @username has been withheld in: Thailand.”

The infamous Anonymous group organized today’s protest, urging Twitter users not to tweet at all on January 28.

Although it can be argued that silence speaks louder than words – my timeline has already flooded with a plethora of Instragram’d pictures of cats this morning.

The Game Poses With Bags of Weed

In the old days, rappers loved poses with tons of voluptuous, hot babes on their lap. It was the cool thing to do. Now in this day and age, rappers like Snoop and The Game only feel cool when there are bags of weed sitting on their lap.

In his latest attempt to show off on Twitter, The Game, a.k.a. Charles Louboutin, posted a photo of himself with not one but five bags of weed. “Fresh kut. Fresh kush. #NowLeavingCompton,” he writes.

The Game is quite a hoot to follow on Twitter. Like Kanye, he posts many intellectual gems like “Breaking Hood News: Asparagus cures aids!!!!” and “Cold sores are excuses for yo mama & daddy havin’ herpes.”

How long will this controversial photo be uploaded on Twitter until the authorities get their hand on it?

How Did Mac Miller Spend His Birthday?

It was Mac Miller’s birthday yesterday and he turned 20 years old. So how did he spend his special day? Well he posted a tweet that summarized at least the highlight of it.

Mac tweeted, “just had crazy sex. maid outfit, handcuffs, etc. now i’m putting bailey’s in a cup of coffee, ordering room service, and enjoying my b day.”

Rihanna Tweets Revealing Swimsuit Pictures

Here is another example of why we love Twitter so much. Rihanna is having a relaxing time on vacation in Hawaii which means one thing – bikini pictures.

And because Rihanna loves her Twitter followers so much, she decided to share some of those pics. As you can see above, Rihanna is still looking to be in fantastic shape, and she isn’t afraid to show it. Our personal favorite picture is Rihanna in a bikini taking another picture of a girl’s ass – very artistic.

Fake Twitter Commercial for Kanye West’s DONDA

Last night, Kanye West went on a Twitter binge. He tweeted 86 times in just three hours. That’s one tweet every one and a half minutes.

Because Kanye announced on Twitter he’ll be starting up a design company called DONDA (named after his late mother), Jimmy Kimmel poked up at the idea on his late night talk show.

“Kanye’s spreading himself too thin. He barely has time to interrupt award shows now,” Kimmel joked.

The producers for Kimmel’s show put together a commercial for DONDA, using some of Kanye’s best tweets. One of them includes my personal favourite: “My favourite unit of measurement is “a shitload”.

There’s never a dull moment on Twitter if you follow these outrageous celebrities, comedians and random humans on the social networking site.

Here at andPOP, we love reporting about the latest twitter feud (usually started by Chris Brown) or the latest awkward photo Jessica Simpson uploads. Needless to say, 2011 was an entertaining year on the internet.

Here are our top ten favourite Twitter accounts we recommend you follow, if you need more laughter in your life.

10. Justin Bieber

Twitter is usually the first place the singing sensations reveals important information. For instance, news broke out of his latest Christmas album by a simple tweet.

9. Questlove

We love following Late Night With Jimmy Fallon’s Questlove, because he’s always posting the freshest music and the funniest YouTube clips. He always adds his two cents, of course.

8. Slashleen

For an unknown girl in Toronto, Slashleen already has over 60,000 followers, waiting for her to make the next crude remark. Her latest: “When I get upset I think about rappers farting dollar signs of marijuana smoke and it cheers me right up.”

7. Courtney Stodden

She may have the same intelligence and talent as a Kardashian, but at least she’s funnier to have on Twitter. You can tell Courtney loves to expand her vocabulary with a Thesaurus as she tweets such things as “As the sensuous streets of LA are saturated in residual raindrop romance… I seductively dream of delicate sentiments by the fireplace.” She definitely has a career in romantic fiction!

6. Hipster Mermaid

Braden Graeber tweets on behalf of Hipster Mermaid and he does a great job at it. The L.A. comedian is always on the cusp of what’s trendy and popular online.

5. Sarah Silverman

One of the best female comedians around, Sarah never filters herself when she tweets to her 2 million followers.

4. Chris Brown

The aggressive hip-hop singer is always a good person to have on Twitter because you never know the next time he’s involved in a train wreck. A few months ago he got into a very heated argument with a female rapper from Toronto and we couldn’t look away.

3. Kanye West

Like Sarah, Kanye never filters himself on Twitter. Come to think of it, he never filters himself in real life, either. But the point is, following him on Twitter to get his opinions on basic day-to-day tasks is hilarious. “I just threw some kazoo on this bitch” is a classic Kanye tweet.

2. Rob Delaney

This comedy writer doesn’t have the same amount of followers as Kanye or even Kim Kardashian but we’re hoping more people follow him after this post. Rob always goes for the glory, especially with “Just found out my wife’s first husband also called 911 on her for farting.” His other funny tweets are more rated R.

1. Conan O’Brien

We all jumped for joy when our favourite late night talk show host joined the Twitterverse. He may have 4 million followers around the world, but he’s only following one lucky fan back. Her name is Sarah Slowick and we’re incredibly jealous.

It seems like we report about a celebrity going ballistic on the popular social media website at least once a day. Here at andPOP, we consider it a slow news day if 50 cent hasn’t yelled at someone or Kanye West hasn’t tweeted in all capital letters.

It’s a somewhat slow week for Twitter fights because most stars are busy Christmas shopping or planning their holiday getaway. The good ol’ folks at BuzzFeed have compiled a list of the best celebrity tweets this year, to keep us entertained until Ashton Kutcher comes back online.

Demi Lovato Gets Another New Tattoo

Just a few weeks ago, Demi made a video for her fans, explaining how they inspired her new tattoos. Now, Demi’s back and showing off her latest motivational tattoo.

Wednesday, Demi posted a photo on Twitter, writing “sometimes you just gotta have a little…” and then showed her new tat that says ‘faith’ in cursive writing.

This ties in nicely with Demi’s “stay strong” message on her wrists. It seems like Demi’s all about keeping positive now that she’s finished treatment and promoting a new, more mature album.

Charlie Sheen Accidentally Reveals Phone Number

Last night Charlie must have been drunk tweeting again because he aired his personal phone number to the entire internet.

Perez Hilton posted a screen capture of the public tweet that was probably meant to be a private message.

Obviously, Charlie deleted the tweet after his publicist called to yell at him (I assume). Can you imagine the number of calls and even sexts the guy got last night? WINNING! Here at andPOP we tried giving the guy a ring but to no avail. I can’t blame him. Although, if I were him, I’d be really curious as to what kind of messages people leave in my inbox.

In another edition of “Celebrities Tweet Dumb Things”, Tameka Raymond is the next person to speak profanities on the social media website.

Forget Jessica Simpson talking about her bathroom breaks, forget about Ashton Kutcher not getting his facts straight before hitting ‘send’. Usher’s ex-wife Tameka has some serious explaining to do about this recent tweet:

The 40-year-old newly single mom suggests gay men are more easily identifiable, because, I’m guessing, she’s hit on one too many guys at the bar she thought were straight.

The Huffington Post reports Tameka tried to recant what she wrote, claiming she only meant those “participating in trickery”. It seems like Tameka’s come down with a case of the ol’ ‘I will say whatever I want unless millions of Twitter followers yell at me’. You ever notice how these celebrities are so easily swayed to take back their words if they don’t get the reaction they want? For once, I kind of wish someone would just speak their mind and continue to stand by it, no matter how many Twitter followers they lose.

Alec Baldwin Kicked Off Plane For Playing Words With Friends

American Airlines are obviously not a fan of word play. They allegedly kicked “30 Rock” actor Alec Baldwin off their plane because he refused to stop playing the Scrabble spin-off game, Words with Friends.

Death and Taxes Magazine reports the story broke out when passengers on the plane tweeted about the kerfuffle (22 points!). One man wrote “On an AA flight at LAX. Alec Baldwin removed from the plane. We had to go back to the gate. Terrible that everyone had to wait.”

The always outspoken Alec had the intrepidity (17 points!) to call out the airline on his Twitter page. “Flight attendant on American reamed me out 4 playing WORDS W FRIENDS while we sat at the gate, not moving. #nowonderamericaairisbankrupt.”

Apparently, the pilot and flight attendants have never seen Glengarry Glen Ross, otherwise they’d know Alec can come off as extremely tightfisted (19 points!). I wouldn’t get between a man and his lust for knowledge if I were them. It’s like yelling at a kid for reading the encyclopedia. If a man wants to expand his vocabulary, let him!

Not one to hold much of a grudge, Alex Baldwin layed the quarrel (16 points!) to rest with a joke. “My Words with Friends user name is now #theresalwaysunited,” he tweeted.

Now, as Alex flies United from here on forward, he might want to trivialize (22 points!) with “Manmundine12″. This player probably has the highest score ever recorded.

Adele Tweets After Surgery

She may not be able to speak but damn, can Adele tweet!

The singer, who now has the highest ever selling album in England, promises to tweet more, according to Perez Hilton.

Adele has one of the greatest voices of the century, and it’s not just when she sings. Her bubbly British accent really makes my heart swoon. I already miss the sound of her voice but I’m glad that she’s going to be interacting with fans via Twitter more often now. She says if the clean water initiative she works for, Drop4Drop got 10, 000 followers.

The ginger diva recently posted a photo of herself posing next to a large Beyonce magazine cover. She wrote, “F*ck me that was quick!ThankU! I’m in bed,watchin Gladiator,eatin an apple. Heres a pic of me&Queen B last wk in NYC!X”

Adele looks like a knockout for someone that just underwent surgery. If she heels in time, she may be able to appear and performance at the 2012 Grammys in February.

‘Teen Mom’s’ Farrah Abraham Starts Kardashian Feud

The Kardashians just can’t avoid controversy. It all started when Kourtney Kardashian announced she was pregnant again, and Teen Mom’s Farrah Abraham started tweeting about it.

“I’m shocked Kourtney Kardashian is pregnant again. Did she not learn anything from TEEN MOM? Maybe it’s a fake pregnancy like Kim’s wedding. SAD,” Abraham tweeted Friday.

Kourtney responded by saying, “Why would I have anything to do with Teen Mom? I’m 32 years old! I may look young honey, but don’t get it twisted,” Kardashian tweeted.

Kourtney’s boyfriend Scott Disick got into the fight by tweeting, “We’re not teenagers ya f**king moron.”

Abrahan responded with, “Age and money honestly do not change a person’s poor choice. Quit making excuses.”

“I don’t even know who this person is? How do u?” Khloe Kardashian asked Disick over Twitter to which he replied, ever so elegantly, “I just thought she was some sh*t stain on Twitter, no?”

Yet more fun and controversy. Life is never dull when you are a Kardashian. Maybe Demi Lovato will come to Kourtney’s rescue.

Cher and Nicki Minaj Fight on Twitter

In this week’s “Twitter Fight: Celebrity Edition”, it’s hip-hop star Nicki Minaj versus pop icon Cher.

It all started when Nicki allegedly disses Cher in her song “Did It On Em”. She sings “If you could turn back time, Cher/You used to be here but now you gone, Nair,” which doesn’t really make sense but I assume she’s making fun of Cher’s body hair.

Perez Hilton says a fan brought this to the 65-year-old performer’s attention.

Cher replied to the nameless fan saying: “I’ve seen lots of people come & go! No biggie!”

Then Nicki’s boyfriend Safaree Samuels has to stick his nose in someone elses’ business and tweeted to Cher, “listen to the words b4 you say dumb sh-t on twitter. do you know what a rap metaphore is??? TM is a cult you dont want it with!!” …Whatever that means!

None of this would have happened if random people weren’t going to Cher wanting to start another Chris Brown Twitter meltdown. Let this to a lesson to everybody: mind your own business. These people have real work to do.

50 Cent Fights With Fan on Twitter

It’s kind of ironic that the fight between 50 cent and a female fan on Twitter was because of Chris Brown, the king of fighting.

Chris Brown recently deleted his Twitter account because of too many angry outbutsts. It seems like 50 Cent may follow suit.

The Media Takeout just posted screencaps of the tweet battle that started when Fiddy praised Chris Brown. “I told y’all the main event,” he tweeted about Chris’ performance at the AMAs. But, when a fan by the handle @ohmychars jokingly called him a stan (an obsessed fan) he went bananas.

Thankfully, the fan, who changed her handle to @_ChaaarsCBE, didn’t escalate the fight. Instead, she just tweeted “I won’t let someone like 50 Cent get me down”. Good on her for not turning this into a Chris Brown vs. Lyracist fight. Now, 50 Cent is looking like a foulmouthed villian all because he can’t take a joke. Anger management, anyone?

Chris Brown Leaves Twitter

As one man quits on Demi Moore, another man quits on Twitter.

Just when we thought we couldn’t escape the wrath that is Chris Brown, the guy goes and deleted his twitter account, according to the Superficial.

We posted last week about Chris’ latest outrage on the social media site. He lashed out at people who constantly bring up the violent incident with former girlfriend, Rihanna.

Technically, Chris Brown’s twitter handle @chrisbrown is still valid. He just deleted 99% of his timeline. All that are left are a few tweets. The last one, made on November 15 reads “live LIFE!”

With him dropping off the face of Twitter, we are one step closer to having him drop off the face of the Earth.

Nick Cannon Says Cops Pulled Him Over Because He Is Black

After all that negative attention from the faux-flying dog story, you’d think Nick Cannon would cozy up in a corner somewhere and not peep a word.

Nick and his poor taste are back! This time, he’s pulling a classic Jessica Simpson move on Twitter: not thinking before he tweets. Case in point:

The sound you can now here is the world’s smallest violin playing. Maybe you get pulled over because you’re a shitty driver, Nick. Did you ever think about that?

He also tweeted about getting off the hook one time. “Just got pulled over again. For the 1st time ever… The Cop let me go! He was a black man! ‘Preciate it Brotha!!,” he wrote. What a class act!
