OK everybody, the Twilight saga continues with New Moon (ladies please control your crying). We were lucky to sit down with Canadian heartthrob Bronson Pelletier for an interview during the recent press stop in Toronto. Bronson plays Jared in the movie and apparently had to get jacked up to play his werewolf character. He also spoke with us about his relationships with his fellow Twilight actors.
One day before they invaded Los Angeles’ Hollywood & Highland Centre, the cast of “New Moon” kicked off their tour with a stop at a Nordstrom packed with infatuated Twilighters. Featuring appearances by fan favorites Edi Gathegi, Christian Serratos, Alex Meraz, Chaske Spencer, Bronson Pelletier and Kiowa Gordon, the group spoke exclusively to MTV News about their future plans between now and the premiere of “New Moon” on November 20.
“We’re here today — half the wolf pack, a sexy vampire and a regular human,” laughed Gathegi, who plays the (mostly) evil Laurent in the saga. “We’re here to meet 125 fans, take pictures with them and send them home happy.”
Apparently they did their job. Eager Twilighters were ecstatic to meet their favorite members if the “Twilight” saga. The merchandise also assisted in the general elated atmosphere as well.
“There’s this white shirt, and it has a giant tree on it and a bird,” Serratos said of her favorite piece in the Nordstrom “Twilight” line. “It’s really tight; I like it.”
Had enough of vampires? Too bad. If you’re not a fan of Twilight, you’re a clear minority these days.
The Twilight Saga: New Moon soundtrack has been propelled to the Number One spot on the Billboard Top 200 after one week on the shelves and digital services, reports rollingstone.com.
The album sold an additional 153,000 copies this week – a 33 per cent increase over its debut week on sale. Tim McGraw’s Southern Voice debuted at Number Two and Michael Buble’s Crazy Love dropped to Number Three after a two-week reign at Number One.
According to current estimations, however, New Moon‘s time at the top of the charts will be short-lived. Another, and perhaps even more hyped, soundtrack is expected to take New Moon‘s place: Michael Jackson’s This Is It.
The soundtrack that coincides with the documentary film of the same name is estimated to sell 300,000 to 350,000 copies, giving the late King of Pop his sixth Number One album on the Top 200, and his first since Invincible from 2001. While Jackson’s 2003 greatest hits album Number Ones is the year’s bestselling album with 2.2 million copies sold, it was not eligible for the Top 200 when it was taking the top spot in sales following Jackson’s death on June 25.
I haven’t listened to ‘rock’ music for years, but there’s something about Band of Skulls that I can’t get enough of. Baby Darling Dollface Honey has the same rawness and musicality of a White Stripes record, but with a unique and irresistible charm. Add to that a very attractive female bassist and I’m sold. Band of Skulls is featured on the new Twilight soundtrack alongside some of my other favourites like Thom Yorke, Bon Iver, and Grizzly Bear, so clearly they’re doing something right.
Lauren Conrad’s spotlight may be gone from reality show, The Hills, but she has deftly redirected it to her newest movie-making endeavor.
Conrad has decided to work with the executive producers of Twilight, Marty Bowen and Wyck Godfrey, to turn her novel, “L.A. Candy,” into a film.
“I mean, you can’t do much better, right?” she remarked to MTV News at the launch of her Kohl’s LC Lauren Conrad clothing line.
According to mtvnews.com, she went on to explain that the book was never meant to be a movie. Instead, Conrad had envisioned it as a TV show. The former Hills star knows a thing or two about TV. “Originally, when people started talking to me about turning the books into television, I was really excited,” she explained. “Then we got approached about the movie and I wasn’t really sure it would work. The story is supposed to take place over a couple of years and it’s hard to do with a movie.”
The New Moon soundtrack listing is now available. Is it everything Twilight fans hoped?

On the red carpet for the 61st Annual Emmy Awards, E! News kicked off a campaign to get Twilight‘s Robert Pattinson a hosting gig on Saturday Night Live.
“We would love to get Robert Pattinson,” said Seth Meyers. “How dare you tell me he’s the hot guy from Twilight, like I don’t already know! We’re actually hoping if he’s not available, at least his hair will come by and host.”
“Oh yeah, he’d be great,” said Kristen Wiig.
We have the trailer for New Moon which debuted at the VMA’s on Sunday. Will it be as big or even bigger than Twilight? Probably. Expect to see more visual effects, werewolves, motorcylce stunts, and a whole lot more!
If you haven’t heard of “Band of Skulls,” you will very soon. These UK rockers had the first ever global iTunes “Single of the Week” back in April for their debut song “I Know What I am,” and they just keep taking the rock world by storm.
The trio were voted Best Live Band at Toronto’s NXNE festival in June and are fresh off Lollapalooza. Twi-hards may already know “Band of Skulls” has been confirmed to be included alongside Radiohead and Muse in the upcoming “New Moon” Soundtrack, out in November.
The now-infamous cast of Eclipse, the Twilight sequel have been spotted throughout Vancouver where the third installment of the series is currently filming. It will be a prime time for some snooping too, as rumours have been flying about romances between a number of duos on the set.
Lead actors Kristen Stewart and Robert Pattinson arrived just days ago, Stewart still clad with a mullet from her title role in the Joan Jett biopic Runaways. They were sited a few nights ago getting cozy at a Kings of Leon concert in Vancouver Aug. 15, with photos of them practically making out appearing on RadarOnline.com and Just Jared. This comes after the two attended Comic-Con, an international and now celebrity hot spot comic book convention in San Diego, where they were practically joined at the hip according to the Los Angeles Times.
Twilight series author Stephanie Meyer, has confessed, in a new exclusive video from E! News, that Blue October was the inspiration for her book New Moon. See below for the interview!
Just like many “Twilight” fans out there, Rachelle Lefevre — the Canadian who plays the evil red-headed vampire in “Twilight” and “New Moon” — was just as shocked to find out her character Victoria has been recast.
“I was stunned by Summit’s decision to recast the role of Victoria for ‘Eclipse,’ ” said Lefevre in a statement released Wednesday (July 29). The statement was released less than 24 hours after Summit Entertainment announced the Canadian actress would be replaced by “Lady in the Water” star Bryce Dallas Howard in the third “Twilight” installment.
Australia’s Xavier Samuel has been given a role in Eclipse, the third instalment of the Twilight franchise, reports Perez Hilton. Xavier, 25, will play Riley, a vampire who assists Victoria in her attempts to murder Bella.
“I was up against some truly great actors who I’m privileged to be considered among,” he said. “It’s a fantastic opportunity.”
Channing Tatum and Harry Potter‘s Tom Felton were reportedly also considered for the role.
Filming for Eclipse is planned to begin August 17 and wrap October 31. It is tentatively scheduled for release June 30, 2010, following the second film, New Moon, which hits theatres November 20.
Robert Pattinson, Kristen Stewart and Taylor Lautner get their own chocolate bar in the shape of their “Twilight” characters Edward Cullen, Bella Swan and Jacob Black respectively.
Necco sub-brand SkyBar is releasing these “New Moon” bars as well as special boxes of “Twilight” Sweethearts. But of course, they had to add a vampire twist to the flavours which include “Secret Strawberry,” “Passion Fruit” and “Tempting Apple.”
Breaking Dawn, the fourth and final installment of the Twilight series, will shoot right after the third film, Eclipse, according to Perez Hilton. While the second and third films were previously slated to be filmed back-to-back, fans were concerned about no apparent plans for the fourth movie.
Ashley Greene, who plays Alice Cullen in the films, recently revealed in an interview that she would be preparing to shoot the last installment immediately after shooting wrapped on the third movie. “We’re going to start right after Eclipse,” she said.
Filming for Eclipse is planned to begin August 17 of this year, and is expected to wrap around October 31.
Racelle Lefevre gives some insider info about New Moon and discusses the Twilight phenomena.
Following months of speculation, Summit Entertainment has confirmed that “30 Days of Night” helmer David Slade will direct “Eclipse,” the third installment of the hit “Twilight” franchise.
The movie, which is scheduled for release on June 30, 2010, will be adapted from Stephenie Meyer’s vampire-romance novel by Melissa Rosenberg, who also scripted “Twilight” and its sequel, “New Moon.”
“Stephenie Meyer’s ‘Eclipse’ is a muscular, rich, vivid book, and we at Summit looked long and hard for a director who could do it justice,” the studio’s president of production Erik Feig said in a statement. “We believe we have found that talent in David Slade, a director who has been able to create complex, visually arresting worlds.”
After months of rumours over who will play such and such character in the second film of the “Twilight” saga “New Moon”, Summit Entertainment has finally released an official cast announcement.
“New cast members include the legendary Volturi, a venerable coven of vampires who weigh and impose the laws of the vampire world, as well as two new members of the Quileute Indian Nation,” read the press release posted on April 15 on Summit Entertainment’s website. ”The Volturi include Charlie Bewley as Demetri, Jamie Campbell Bower as Caius, Daniel Cudmore as Felix, Christopher Heyerdahl as Marcus, all Volturi enforcers. Dakota Fanning plays Jane, a high-ranking and powerful Volturi member, and Cameron Bright is Alec, her brother. Noot Seear plays Volturi member Heidi. Michael Sheen plays Aro, the Volturi leader. Graham Greene appears as Harry Clearwater, Quileute tribal leader and old friend of Bella’s father Charlie. Tinsel Korey is Emily, the fiancée of Sam Uley.”
A new vampire has been cast for Twilight’s upcoming sequel.
Welsh actor Michael Sheen (The Queen and Frost/Nixon), is set to take on the role of Aro in New Moon. He will join the entire Twilight cast, including Robert Pattinson, as well as new cast addition Dakota Fanning.
In New Moon, 40-year-old Sheen will play Aro, the leader of an Italian vampire clan called the Volturi. The Volturi are slightly ominous in Meyer’s book, therefore it will be up to Sheen to add the menacing factor to New Moon. This role is reminiscent of Sheen’s role in Underworld, where he played Lucian, the leader of the werewolves race. In Underworld, the werewolves were dire enemies of the vampires, so Sheen will have to switch teams in the sequel.
Good news for Robert Pattinson fans: he’s coming to a television set near you. He will not be reappearing as the famous “Twilight” vampire, but as Art, a struggling singer/songwriter trying to get over a breakup in the indie comedy, “How to Be.” According to mtvnews.com, exclusive reports state that IFC Festival Direct will be showing the film on demand beginning April 29.
It appears that 22-year-old Pattinson has a musical streak as well. He performs three original songs on the soundtrack, which will be released on CD and as a digital download through iTunes and other online retailers on April 28.
