… asides from ours, obviously.
Toilet paper company Charmin has been killing it lately on Twitter. They may have an advantage considering they totally have a monopoly on toilet humor, but it’s been fun nonetheless.
Basically, if you have the urge to shake up your Twitter feed today, you know where to go (and follow us @andpop if you we’re not on your feed already)!
Check out Charmin’s best tweets here:

If you’re not familiar with Comedian Rob Delany, well after this hilarious video you may want to check out his Twitter page. On Jimmy Kimmel Live, our favourite late night host introduces us to the genius that is Delany by heading down to a local deli to get a group of old people to read out some of Delany’s tweets. There’s nothing funnier than having grampie and gramie read out liners like, “Children give terrible gifts because they’re poor,” or “you’ve really got to hand it to short people because they can’t often reach it.” Yes these tweets are totally absurd and slightly offensive but don’t tell me you didn’t share a good laugh or two.
But we got to ask: would we rather have old people reading Urban Dictionary? What do you think?
There’s never a dull moment with Kanye West. A reason why I follow him on Twitter is because I want to witness every single Twitter rampage he goes on. From tweeting information about his entrepreneurial business DONDA to his philosophical questions about the word “bitch“, the rapper is certainly not short of providing his fans with some well-needed entertainment. (It’s just too bad he deletes his tweets after)
But heading on the social networking site yesterday, the rapper didn’t have to do much to confuse/inspire his fans. Tweeting a series of obscure tweets featuring words like: “Awesomeness”, ”minimalism” and “soul,” one can’t seem to figure out what sparked this sudden urge. Was it impending fatherhood? Is it a new song featuring one-word sentences? THIS IS A MYSTERY THAT NEEDS TO BE SOLVED!
I don’t quite know what any of this means. But I sure miss the tweets Kanye used to have about marble conference tables and fur pillows. They are actually so inspiring, that even Josh Groban felt compelled to make an album about it!
This is a question that has been bothering us for some time now. How the F*%k do you use Twitter? What is it even for? There have never been any real guidelines on its official purpose and people have been left to figure it out for themselves. This week’s episode of “Staff Members Talking Sh*t,” we address the confusing labyrinth of life in 140 characters or less. In an attempt to establish some sort of tweet etiquette, the ANDPOP employees discuss their least favourite users, trends and common habits that could be annoying your followers.
Watch it here:
Today in the world of Twitter, Jessica Simpson had trouble identifying whether that queasy feeling in her stomach was her baby or just mere gas. The more likely explanation is that the munchkin was dancing. Nothing gets you moving like her late 90s hit “I Think I’m in Love.” Anyone? Just me?!
More confusion, but this time for The Office’s BJ Novak. We see the slow collapse of his joy when he realizes that it’s actually a leap year and that in fact, tomorrow is still February, or as it’s better known the most depressing month of the year.
Wiz Khalifa wished his mom a happy birthday yesterday and I think it’s safe to say it was a good one. Don’t worry, mama Khalifa has the same tolerance as her son, so she’s pretty much indestructible.
Some nameless tabloids would classify this as “normal” behaviour. Look, celebrities are people too and tweet about Valentine’s Day! Our voyeuristic side is intrigued. Evan Rachel Wood recommends her favourite holiday song, Brad Goreski’s Valentine is his mom (aww) and Neil Patrick Harris expects a good shag tonight, naturally.
Chris Brown showed off his impressive footwork at last night’s Grammys but his presence left others feeling queasy. His controversial return to the Grammys comes about three years after he assaulted ex-girlfriend Rihanna, a night before he was scheduled to appear at the 51st Grammy Awards. Although the performance was seen as his “comeback” it was also seen as some type of screw you to any women who has experienced domestic violence.
However, some Tweeters released a slew of upsetting posts. If Brown’s performance didn’t upset you, these posts will probably do the job. They’re only a few of the countless tweets.
Some notable celebrities sent out some tweets about the death of Steve Jobs:
Ashton Kutcher: ”I never thought I could be so busted up about the loss of someone I never met.
Ryan Seacrest: “‘Have the courage to follow ur heart & intuition. They already know what u truly want to become. Everything else is secondary.’ – Steve Jobs”
Taylor Swift: “I never met Steve Jobs, but I always wanted to. What a tragic loss. I can’t believe it. About to call my family and tell them I love them.”
Brad Paisley: “I am glad I get to live in the world Steve Jobs enhanced.”
The two women came to blows during the O2 Academy Brixton ceremony, and although Allen originally denied having a “bust-up” with Love, she did not shy away from Tweeting her thoughts.
“Courtney Love and I did NOT have a bust-up at the NME’s. There was an exchange of words, yes, she’s upset because she has got it into her head that I put a lock on some dresses for the Brit Awards 2010. She’s made no secret of this, and when I saw her at the NME’s she tried to talk to me and I told her to shut up (and) stop spreading stupid rumours about me,” Allen wrote in a string of Tweets. “And that’s pretty much it. I would never fight with her, as a rule I don’t pick on crazy old ladies.”
