Tool, The Fray To Play Colorado Music Festival

The FrayThe second annual Mile High Music Festival will return to Colorado this summer with headliners Tool, the Fray and Widespread Panic.

The event, slated to take place July 18 and 19 at Dick’s Sporting Goods Park in Denver, will feature dozens of acts spread out over two stages.

Tool will play on Saturday and the Fray will play on Sunday, while Widespread Panic are scheduled to perform on both days.

Tool Adds Concert Dates

Tool has just expanded their current schedule of North American tour dates, bringing the current total of planned performances to 27.

According to Billboard, the late-summer jaunt will kick off August 5 at San Diego’s Street Scene Festival, and (as of now) will wrap up September 29 in Mansfield, Massachusetts.

Canada is well represented on the tour, with tickets already on sale for shows in Vancouver, Calgary and Edmonton. Today’s announcement added a stop in Toronto.

The band is supporting their latest release, “10,000 Days,” which has sold 1.1 million copies in the U.S. since being released in May.

Starting in Vancouver, instrumental band Isis will be the opening act for all shows.

Tool Tour Dates Slowly Revealed

Tool is set to kick off a new, full-scale North American tour in August.

A previously announced stint at San Diego’s Street Scene festival will start things off for the band on August 5-6.

But after that, only 10 more dates have been revealed so far, including three Canadian Dates. The full tour schedule is expected sometime next week.

Tool will be supporting their latest album, “10,000 Days.” Since its release less than two months ago, the disc has already sold 1 million copies in the U.S., according to Nielsen SoundScan.

The group did a short tour of small theatre venues in North America in May. Shows on that run all sold out in a matter of minutes.

Here’s the list of dates, so far, according to Billboard:

August 4-5 – San Diego, CA @ Street Scene Festival
August 6 – Fresno, CA @ Selland Arena
August 18-19 – Honolulu, HI @ Blaisdell Center
August 22 – Vancouver, BC @ GM Place

Kanye West, Tool to Headline Street Scene Festival

Kanye West and Tool are set to headline the 22nd Street Scene festival in San Diego Aug. 4 and 5, reports Billboard.

West will perform outside Qualcomm Stadium on Aug. 4, alongside AFI, Social Distortion, Bad Religion, Yellowcard, Lupe Fiasco, She Wants Revenge and Nine Black Alps, among others.

The second night will feature Tool as well as My Chemical Romance, Sean Paul, Bloc Party, Tricky, Futureheads, Tapes N’ Tapes, G. Love & Special Sauce and the Subways.

Other acts confirmed to appear at the festival include Wu-Tang Clan, Queens of the Stone Age, Snoop Dogg, the Yeah Yeah Yeahs and Modest Mouse.

The event will also showcase the Lollipop Girls Burlesque Show, the Amazing Yard Dogs Road Show, the Dragon House Drag Show and performance troupe the Mutaytor.

Fans can now purchase two-day passes for $115 while supplies last, or single-day tickets for $75 via the festival?s website.

Tool Announce North American Dates

Tool will tour North America starting May 2 in Seattle and wrapping up May 21 in Boston.

After that, like many other U.S. rock bands, they’ll hit Europe to play some festival dates.

Tool will tour in support of their fourth album, 10,000 Days, due out May 2.

It will be the first CD in five years to have new Tool songs.
