You can watch the full episode at aux.tv (http://tinyurl.com/22m3do6), but I’ll share with you one segment that I thought would be particularly relevant, given that the band’s latest, highly-anticipated album ‘Champ’ has finally been released.

Tokyo Police Club has earned a great deal of praise, and, of course, attention. (They appeared on both Letterman AND Desperate Housewives!) Fortunately, they felt a bit less pressure while creating their latest album, “Champ”.

Posted on andPOP:

Several of Canada’s top indie acts are joining forces this holiday season for a six-city tour of the country.

Metric, Tokyo Police Club, Sebastien Granger & The Mountains, The Dears and San Francisco’s DJ Mike Relm will hit the road in mid-December for the Jingle Bell Rock Tour.

Each show venue will feature an indoor retail village to create the feeling of an outdoor festival.

True to the holiday spirit, the tour has a charitable purpose: to raise awareness about disadvantaged youth and to benefit organizations that help get young people off the streets, including Covenant House and MacDonald Youth Services.

Tickets for the tour go on sale this Saturday (Nov. 1) through Ticketmaster.

Here are the dates for the Jingle Bell Rock Tour:

Dec. 13 – Toronto, ON @ Sound Academy
Dec. 15 – Winnipeg, MB @ Burton Cummings Theatre
Dec. 16 – Saskatoon, SK @ Prairieland Park
Dec. 17 – Edmonton, AB @ Shaw Conference Centre
Dec. 19 – Calgary, AB @ MacEwan Hall
Dec. 21 – Vancouver, BC @ Vogue Theatre

Posted on andPOP:

The guys in Tokyo Police Club are popping up in an unexpected place: Wisteria Lane.

The Newmarket, Ont., band spent the past two days in Los Angeles taping their guest appearance on the hit ABC show “Desperate Housewives.”

According to Pitchfork, the foursome have speaking roles that will showcase their acting and musical abilities.

They are appearing as one of the bands taking part in a local battle of the bands competition, a contest that the men of “Desperate Housewives” — played by James Denton, Doug Savant, Kyle MacLachlan, Ricardo Antonio Chavira and Neal McDonough — are also entering.

The episode featuring Tokyo Police Club will air sometime in November.

It won’t be the first time the band is referenced on the show. In a recent episode, Lynette (Felicity Huffman) engaged in a bit of online deception by impersonating a teenage girl who likes graphic novels and Tokyo Police Club.

As well, the band’s own label, Mean Beard Records, lends its name to a local record store on the show. In an interview earlier this year with Toronto Life, the band’s Greg Alsop revealed that one of the label’s co-owners is a script consultant on the series.

Tokyo Police Club are currently touring with Weezer and Angels & Airwaves.
