From the Backstreet Boys to Celine Dion…that’s quite the range, boys!!
While it probably comes as no surprise that One Direction killed their rendition of “I Want It That Way,” most people would be shocked to hear the boy band also killed their rendition of Celine Dion’s Titanic hit “My Heart Will Go On.” It is a liiiiittle bit hard to take them seriously as they croon the dramatic ballad, but they did get to showcase some top notch vocals (I’m looking at you Liam!!)
I mean, really, does it get any more adorable?
I love Leonardo DiCaprio for the same reason I love ice cream: there’s so many flavours! Whether your favorite’s the cute kid, the teen heartthrob, or the blockbuster star, you’ll love these pics and clips from the long-standing A-lister’s early acting days.
Born and raised in Hollywood
L.A. has been Leo’s home for literally his whole life. Leonardo Wilhelm DiCaprio was born on November 11, 1974 and grew up in the capital city of acting. The origin of his epic name? Apparently his mom was staring at a Leonardo da Vinci painting when she felt his first kick!
He could sell anything
Leo knew acting was his calling by his early teens. In 1988, 14-year-old Leo started starring in commercials for everything from Matchbox racing cars to Apple Jack’s cereal. His hair in this ad for Bubble Yum gum could easily fight Harry Styles’ flow to the death.
First film!
According to Buzzfeed, this portrait of Kim Kardashian and Kanye West as Kate and Leo from The Titanic is hanging on the wall of a Whole Foods in Manhattan, more specifically, in the flowers section.
I wonder if the placement was a strategic effort by the grocery store staff to inspire romance to those perusing their selection of fine foliage. Though we have to say that if anyone was going to inspire romantic notions, it’s definitely not those two. Egotistical and blatant self-adoration? Yes. Love not so much.
Though I have to admit the couple’s relationship is a great source of comedy and of many face palms. But if I ever hear someone seriously argue that Kim Kardashian and Kanye West’s relationship is this generation’s greatest love story, I am jumping off this ship—figuratively and literally.
Hollywood movies can go through the whole roladex of would-be leading men and ladies before the final actors are chosen. When a star like Leonardo DiCaprio nails a movie role like in Titanic, it’s hard to imagine the movie without him (unlike Rose, I would NEVER let go). Can you believe the Home Alone’s Macaulay Culkin even had a chance at landing the role of a lifetime? Vanity Fair put together this crazy collage of what some of our fav films would look like if the roles had gone to other stars in consideration. Here’s our favourite finds.
Lindsay Lohan - Alice in Wonderland
I’d only believe Lindsay as innocent Alice if it was Mean Girls-era LiLo.
Bill Murray - Star Wars
Nobody in a galaxy far, far away would have take the comedian as serious action star in his SNL days.
Ellen Page - The Girl with the Dragon Tattoo
As badass as Ellen Page is, her face would have been way too sweet to play Lisbeth Salander in the Swedish thriller.
Christopher Walken - Pirates of the Carribean
Why am I not surprised Johnny Depp landed the hunky role of Captain Jack Sparrow instead?
John Travolta - Forrest Gump
The only thing crazier than Tom Hanks not being first choice for Forrest is the fact that John Travolta said no to the role.
Fresh off a Golden Globe-nominated performance in Django Unchained, Leonardo DiCaprio is now thinking about taking a break.
“I am a bit drained,” DiCaprio told German publication Bild. ”I’m now going to take a long, long break. I’ve done three films in two years and I’m just worn out.”
But rather than spending his time in the Caribbean basking in the sunlight, the actor plans to put his efforts into changing the quality of our planet.
“I would like to improve the world a bit,” he said. “I will fly around the world doing good for the environment.”
I respect pretty much every role Leonardo’s been given, but this is a well-deserved break. After countless snubbings by the Academy who failed to nominate him in J. Edgar, Titanic and Django Unchained, I can’t really blame him at all!!
He will win his Oscar one day. And when that day comes, I just know that I’ll be saying this:
In the world of celebrity news, there’s no shortage of hits and misses. This week, Shailene Woodley might play the iconic Mary Jane Watson in the upcoming Amazing Spiderman sequel and Niall Horyn needs surgery after a brutal squirrel attack.
HIT: Shailene Woodley may join The Amazing Spiderman 2 cast as Mary Jane Watson
According to The Hollywood Reporter, actor Shailene Woodley has been offered to play the iconic redhead Mary Jane Watson in The Amazing Spiderman sequel. This may be the second best thing to happen to her this week after ABC announced they’ll be cancelling The Secret Life of an American Teenager. Since her stunning performance in the George Clooney film, The Descendants, proves she’ll be a worthy third piece in the romantic love triangle between Andrew Garfield’s web-slinging Peter Parker and Emma Stone’s brainy Gwen Stacey.
MISS: One Direction’s Niall Horan gets attacked by squirrels

One Direction’s Niall Horan recently been spotted on crutches. The 1D member told the U.K.’s the Sun Newspaper that the injury was the result of being attacked by a squirrel in a London park. Niall will reportedly have to undergo surgery to fix the ligaments he tore in his leg because of the furry attack. Niall’s injury just adds to my now rational fear of the urban creatures.
HIT: The Mythbusters prove that Jack Dawson didn’t have to die at the end of Titanic
The guys at Mythbusters have finally put the widely debated Titanic dilemma to a rest. Through the use of science, Jack Dawson and Rose DeWitt Bukater could’ve lived happily ever after if only she made some room on that floating piece of wood. This startling revelation has 1) made me a smug person who wants to yell, “I TOLD YOU SO” to everyone who has ever disagreed with me, 2) given me another to cry at the end of the movie, and c) given me the conviction to boo at James Cameron if I ever come across the famous director.

If Transformers was marketed correctly, this is how the trailer would look. From the horse-faced director who starts shooting before finishing scripts, and the children’s cartoon designed to sell toys, comes the movie designed to sell toys. That’s how this honest trailer for Battleship Transformers begins.
The movie stars Burger King, eBay, GMC, X-Box, Mountain Dew and Chevrolet. It also features a stuttering teenager and gratuitous porny shots of Megan Fox. ”Seriously, it’s f*cking stupid,” says epic narrator guy.
Now this movie I would actually see. Oh, and these guys have Honest Trailers for Twilight and Titanic too.

I’m always such a wreck of tears at the end of Titanic that I don’t even clue into the fact that both Jack AND Rose could have lived when the ship sank. It only took 15 years for someone to explain this simple logic to me. Reddit user Hitlerwasrighthanded posted these photos demonstrating how they could have been rescued and probably gone on to have jobs and healthy children.
Not only could they have both squeezed on the piece of wood, they could have fit comfortably and brought along travel sized games to occupy their time. My only explanation is that the scrap wood couldn’t handle the weight of both of them.

The nice thing about the re-release of Titanic is that a whole generation of people who weren’t around for the original premiere get to see it this round. Fortunately J.J Abrams and Michael Bay thought about how movie expectations have changed since 1997, and made a new version for thrill-seeking teens called Titanic Super 3D.
The movie will feature motion feel technology so you can literally feel the iceberg hit the ship. It also includes sea monsters, intense explosions and Storm Troopers, as well as an up to date soundtrack that includes a Titanic dubstep remix.

Titanic 3D is currently in theatres but what you might not have known is that Ellen Degeneres’ small part in the original movie was cut out. Fortunately, James Cameron made the critical decision to edit it back in for the movie’s re-release and Ellen showed an exclusive clip to prove it.
Ellen plays a painter who is commissioned to paint a nude portrait of Rose at the same time as Jack. I’m not sure how I feel about it. It takes away that romantic aura of the scene but the infusion of humour certain lightens the mood.

One of my best friends has a mane of curly red hair and constantly enlightens me about the benefits of being a Big Red. Admittedly, it’s loads more unique than my dark brown hair and she can claim a whole bunch of movie character alter egos like Anne of Green Gables, Kate Winslet in Titanic and that girl from Suburgatory.
The best one yet will be Princess Merida in Disney Pixar’s Brave. Pixar released a new clip of the film that makes me even more excited to see it. This red-headed royal is stubborn, independent and determined to carve her own path in life. She must rely on her bravery and archery skills to reverse a beastly curse.
I have to say, this princess is a nice change from the songbird does we’re used to seeing (I’m looking at you Cinderella). It also makes the two coolest Disney princesses (in my opinion) red heads, as they already claim The Little Mermaid.
The film’s due out in June, so my countdown is starting now. Only four months, give or take to go. Are you excited to see it?

Near, far, wherever you are, you will be able to watch the loveliness of Leonardo DiCaprio and Kate Winslet as they play out the heartbreaking romance of Jack and Rose in 3D this April!
The trailer for James Cameron’s brilliant masterpiece in 3D, highlights the some of the movie’s most classic scenes. The film was originally released in 1997, and has grossed $600 million to date. 600 Milion!! I don’t know about you all, but seeing one of my favourite 90′s movies in 3D on the big screen might just be the greatest thing that happens next Spring. Okay, not the greatest, but definitely close!
Check out the trailer for Titanic 3D below.
Adam Sandler’s Mr. Deeds inspired Justin Bieber. Remember the scene where Adam Sandler surprises Winona Ryder with a date at Madison Square Garden? Well Justin saw the movie recently and it got him thinking.
Last night, Justin was able to secure the entire Staples Center just for him and Selena to watch Titanic. Justin took Selena to the Demi Lovato concert at the Nokia Theater. He said, “Come with me” and took her underground to Staples Center. Justin didn’t have to pay for it because since he sold out the venue three times and it was empty they gave him the entire arena for free.
Huge boyfriend points.
‘Titanic’ is coming back to theatres – in 3-D.
The boat tragedy, which stars a young Leonardo DiCaprio and Kate Winslet, will be re-released by Paramount Pictures and 20th Century Fox in a new 3-D format.
James Cameron’s Oscar-winning film will be rereleased April 6 of next year to coincide with the 100th anniversary of the Titanic setting sail on April 10.
Cameron says the film was “painstakingly” converted to 3-D and promises “an epic experience.”
Released in 1997, “Titanic” won 11 Academy Awards and grossed more than $1.8 billion worldwide.
Is it me or does the thought of exploiting so many deaths for a “epic” 3-D experience sound so bad? Sure, it would probably have some cool effects, but do we really need to see people hitting propellors in 3-D picture? That James Cameron, he’ll do anything for a buck.
Valentines Day 2012 won’t be a lonely one for Star Wars fans. Fox and Lucasfilm have confirmed the saga’s first 3D-converted instalment will be released on February 10, 2012. And it will all start with the adventures of Jar Jar Binks…
Following the re-release of ‘Star Wars I – The Phantom Menace’ in 2012, the other five parts will be annually released in numerical order. By avoiding release during the summer blockbuster season, Lucas and friends will definitely take the opportunity to reprise the merchandising franchise of Star Wars memorabilia. Fingers crossed for a re-release of the aluminum lunch pails.
There has been an unsurprising whiplash of criticism over the 3D conversions and the studio said in a statement that the films were “supervised by Industrial Light & Magic, the meticulous conversion is being done with utmost respect for source material and with a keen eye for both technological considerations and artistic intentions.”
According to the L.A. Times, there will be a string of 3D re-releases in 2012. Those include James Cameron’s ‘Titanic’ that will sail into theatres in April.
The trailer for the upcoming film, “Avatar,” is now on YouTube. This trailer represents the first movie by James Cameron and Jon Landau since “Titanic” in 1998.
Hollywood producer Landau said Friday he had no doubt that his latest feature with “Titanic” director James Cameron would live up to its billing as the year’s most-anticipated film.
According to Relax News, the 300-million-dollar “Avatar”, packed with computer-generated imagery and 3-D effects, is the pair’s first project together since scooping 11 Oscars in 1998.
The famous pair have certainly put no time limit on their newest project. Landau and Cameron spent the past four-and-a-half years putting the new film together, promising a combination of computer-generated imagery, 3-D effects and live action, the likes of which the world has never seen.
TITANIC stars LEONARDO DiCAPRIO and KATE WINSLET are to reunite on the big screen, 10 years after the blockbuster disaster movie.
Winslet and DiCaprio famously played doomed lovers in the JAMES CAMERON epic and will now play a troubled married couple in an adaptation of RICHARD YATES’ novel REVOLUTIONARY ROAD.
The English actress’ husband SAM MENDES will direct the movie, when filming begins on America’s east coast this summer.
