Tiger Woods Issues Statement About Playing The Masters

TMZ posted the following statement from Tiger Woods about playing in The Masters. “The Masters is where I won my first major and I view this tournament with great respect. After a long and necessary time away from the game, I feel like I’m ready to start my season at Augusta.

“The major championships have always been a special focus in my career and, as a professional, I think Augusta is where I need to be, even though it’s been a while since I last played.

“I have undergone almost two months of inpatient therapy and I am continuing my treatment. Although I’m returning to competition, I still have a lot of work to do in my personal life.

“When I finally got into a position to think about competitive golf again, it became apparent to me that the Masters would be the earliest I could play.”

Tiger Woods To Appear on South Park

If you thought South Park could only get so outrageous, think again. Tiger Woods will be appearing on the comedic show, reports E! online.

South Park, a Comedy Central classic, starts its 14^th season this Wednesday evening. And yes, a Tiger joke is definitely fitting.

Creators Trey Parker and Matt Stone have included the South Park gang having a run-in with the infamous golfer. Also, to bring things to a new level of humour, there is even an animated version of Tiger’s public apology.

“I thought I could get away with whatever I wanted to,” the animated Tiger says. “I thought I had worked hard my entire life and deserved to enjoy all the temptations around me.”

To make matters even more laughable, Cartman, will be standing beside all of the sorry statements.

Tiger Woods Back At Home Happily Ever After and Maybe Returning to Golf

Tiger Woods’ family may just live happy ever after. TMZ is reporting that Tiger is back living under the same roof with his wife Elin Noredgren and two kids for the past eight nights.

Tiger unfortunately has not been able to get to the course as he has been stuck indoors due to bad weather. However he is rumored to return to the tour March 22 at the Tavistock Cup.

Tiger Woods and His Many Phone Numbers

Within the last year, Tiger Woods has changed his cell phone number five times, reports TMZ. Tiger’s fellow PGA golfer Mark Calcavecchia first recalled this information.

“I didn’t really think about it, but in the course of last year he changed his number five times,” Calcavecchia said on Golf.com.

The fifth time Tiger changed his number, Calcavecchia said to him, “Man, you change phone numbers more than I change underwear.”

Calcavecchia claims that before the scandal broke out, he and Tiger used to text message one another all the time. But since Tiger’s notorious car crash, Calcavecchia hasn’t heard from his fellow golfer.

Calcavecchia also recalled an interesting piece of information involving Tiger.

Calcavecchia told the magazine that he “did know of a girl [Tiger] was seeing in Phoenix.” However, he was unaware of the time frame.

“I didn’t know if it was before or after he was married … I know it was close,” Calcavecchia said. “It was 2004 sometime. I didn’t think much of it then.”

More interesting, Tiger was engaged to Elin Nordegren in 2003 and married her in 2004. Scandalise, most definitely.

Tiger Woods Turns Down $75 Million

Tiger Woods is not playing around with his image anymore! Tiger Woods has turned down a $75 Million endorsement deal by an Irish gambling company according to TMZ.

The company called PaddyPower.com said the endorsement deal would have lasted 5 years, but Tiger has rejected the offer.

However the Irish company is not giving up yet. Representatives from the company have said they are coming back to Tiger with an even sweeter offer.

Tiger Woods and Elin Nordegren Spend The Night

Tiger Woods and his wife Elin Nordegren have taken one step forward to repairing their marriage. TMZ reports that the couple and their kids spent the night together at their Florida home.

Sources tell TMZ that the move could be permanent. After Elin arrived yesterday a large truck followed and workers started to move in belongings.

Gatorade Dumps Tiger Woods

Although you can still see Tiger Woods sporting Nike caps, t-shirts and shoes, don’t expect to see any Gatorade his hand. E! reported that a day after Nike pledged commitment to the now controversial golf pro, PepsiCo-owned Gatorade announced that they were dropping Woods. Like he’s hot.

“We no longer see a role for Tiger in our marketing efforts and have ended our relationship,” said a spokeswoman for Gatorade, which discontinued its Gatorade Tiger Focus energy drink in December. “We wish him all the best.”

It is not official whether the company dropped him due to his recent marital woes, but it’s not too difficult to figure out.

Gatorade is not the only company to let go of the apologetic athlete; Accenture was the first to cut him, followed by AT&T. Watchmaker Tag Heuer and Gillette let him off a little bit easier; without completely letting him go, they have decided to give him smaller roles in advertising for the near future.

Woods still has fans including Electronic Arts, which produces Woods’ titular popular golf-game and of course, Nike, who has also chose to stay loyal to the 34-year-old golfer.

“Under the circumstances, the more he deals with the issues and the better he deals with them, the better off he’ll be when he does return,” Nike president Charles Denson told the Associated Press Thursday.

Nike and Tiger Woods are infamous for their relationship, and lucky for Woods, it looks like he will have many more Nike shirts to wear in the future.

“We’ve been supportive of Tiger since the story broke and we continue to be supportive. He’s got issues he needs to deal with and he’s dealing with them. We are looking forward to him getting back on the golf course.”

Tiger Woods Speaks at Press Conference

Tiger Woods finally spoke today at a press conference in Ponte Vedra Beach, Fla. Thanks to our friends at TMZ for the live stream! Not surprisingly he was very apologetic to his friends, fans, sponsors and of course his family, for his irresponsible actions. Some highlights of his speech include:

- Admitting he had affairs with other women.

- Announcing that he has started to receive treatment for his issues and will continue to do so.

- He will not return to golf for the time being, and is unsure when he will return.

- He never used performance enhancing drugs.

- The paparazzi should leave his family alone.

- His wife Elin never hit him at anytime during their marriage.

- He is very apologetic to his friends, fans, sponsors and family.

- At the end of his speech, he hugged his mother and other close supporters and then left the press room.

Tiger Woods Gets Paid a Visit by Wife Elin Nordegren

Awkward.

TMZ is reporting that Elin Nordegren, Tiger Woods’s wife, paid the golf superstar a visit this morning at the family home in Isleworth, Florida.

Nordegren has been living at a separate home in the area ever since Woods’ messy string of affairs was made public back in late November.

Elin’s white Escalade was spotted parked in the driveway of Tiger’s home after Elin had dropped off their daughter Sam at school. The Swedish ex-model (and potential ex-wife) was seen walking into the home with two coffees from Starbucks.

Trying to work things out or settling up a prenup? Only time will tell.
