Tiger Woods told the executive committee of the Olympic program he would play in the 2016 Summer Olympic Games if golf was made an Olympic sport, Perez Hilton reports.
“I’ve said there is no singular decision or singular program that can globalize the game of golf like a nod from the IOC to join the Olympic Games,” said PGA of America CEO Joe Steranka. “We’re very encouraged by today and we’re proud of the support we’ve received.”
Those behind the suggested program change propose featuring a 72-hole stroke-play competition with 60 players for men and women.

Tiger Woods PGA Tour 10
You know a little more than a decade ago I remember golf breaking into the gaming scene. Back then Tiger Woods was fast on his way to becoming a worldwide recognizable sports icon, which meant we were going to get a new game franchise thrown our way. Besides the Hotshotz series of games, we had nothing really serious and cool on the consoles… well Mario Golf was definitely one of the better titles out there on the N64.
My first Tiger Woods PGA Tour experience was with the 2004 edition. I was amazed at how gorgeous this game looked running on a ps2, it played like a deeper, realistic version of the famed Hotshotz golf games. Suddenly we had an alternative to the arcade-like golf games on our consoles. READ MORE »
As you are probably aware by now EA Sports Tiger Woods PGA Tour 10 demo is out now on PSN and XBOX Live.
The demo allows players to play two real courses, Bethpage Black and Turnberry, which is where -for those of you obsessed with golf- they will be hosting the 2009 British Open.
The demo allows you to take on the two courses and try out the practice mode if you need to.
A not worthy addition is the challenge mode included in the demo, which takes players to a new course and picks a specific hole with a particular challenge.
The game boasts dynamic weather that will no doubt play a big part of how you take on each course and features updated graphics, rosters, courses, EA Live Tournament, Precision Putting, Tournament Atmosphere and the aforementioned Tournament Challenge Mode.
Naturally I am a bit psyched, especially for the Wii version with its MOTION PLUS GLORY!! It just wouldn’t be summer if there wasn’t a golf game to play.
EA Sports announced today that the Wii version of Tiger Woods PGA Tour will be bundled with the new Wii MotionPlus accessory.
The manufaturer said the accessory will give players an unprecedented authentic golf swing experience and the ability to control the ball.
The title will ship to stores in North America on June 11. The game is rated E and the bundle’s recommended price is $59.99, the game alone is $49.99.
Tiger Woods, the 33 year old golf pro, welcomed a new addition to the family. Charlie Axel Woods was born on Sunday February 8th and is the baby brother of the Woods’ first child, Sam Alexis who was born in June of 2007. People.com reported that everyone is doing well. “Both Charlie and Elin are doing great and we want to thank everyone for their sincere best wishes and kind thoughts,” said the world’s no. 1 golfer. Woods would have been at Torrey Pines, Calif., in the final round of the Buick Invitational tournament this week if it were not for the new arrival, reported the San Diego Union-Tribune. Looks like Woods will have his hands tied for the next little while between balancing the late nights, diaper changing and tournaments. Woods announced on his website “Sam is very excited to be a big sister and we feel truly blessed to have such a wonderful family.”
