The Situation from ‘Jersey Shore’ Signs Deal With MTV

Posted by andPOP Staff on July 20th, 2010

MTV’s “Jersey Shore” at least has one cast member on board for season three, The Situation.

Although the rest of the cast remains on strike until MTV officially counters, The Situation is ready to get to work, reports PopEater.  His manager Michael Petolino says it’s a “great new arrangement.”

MTV is ready to make a new offer to the rest of the cast, which will see them earn $30,000 per episode. This is quite an increase from Season 1 and Season 2 where they earned $5,000 and $10,000 per episode.

The Situation is credited for breaking the stalemate between the cast and MTV.

“The Situation has always been respected and well liked by the entire cast. He felt that he could break the stalemate by putting these rumors of a cast strike to rest by moving forward and leading the cast to another hit season,” Petolino adds.

MTV’s ‘Jersey Shore’ Cast on Strike

Posted by andPOP Staff on July 18th, 2010

Didn’t we say earlier today there would be problems with the cast of “Jersey Shore?” Well apparently the cast of the MTV series are on strike and refuse to shoot for the third season until they are offered a better deal.

Scenes for the third season were supposed to start shooting today with JWoww, Ronnie, Sammi, Pauly D and Vinny, reports TMZ. Shooting for the home scenes were supposed to take place in New York and Rhode Island, but the cast said they reused to shoot.

The Situation and Snooki are supposed to shoot tomorrow. However there is no word on their next course of action. Additionally The Situation is in his own negotiations with MTV.

Maybe this is a sign for MTV to cancel the third season, and the entire series. Aren’t we tired of these people and their stupidity?

‘Glee’ Gets The Greenlight for a Third Season

Posted by andPOP Staff on May 24th, 2010

While not even done their first season, “Glee” has already been signed for a third season, reports E! Online.

“In just one year, Glee has transcended the television landscape and emerged as a global pop culture phenomenon,” said Fox Entertainment boss Peter Rice.

“We are incredibly proud to have talent like Ryan Murphy and the Glee cast in our Fox family, and we can’t wait to see where Ryan takes the show in seasons two and there.”

The question now remains, can the show keep this mojo going? For the first season the show was cool because it was so novel, but that eventually wears off. What do you think? Are the show creators, writers and actors that good to keep this show on top of the ratings?

Flight of the Conchords Ends On A High Note

Posted by Emma Renda on December 14th, 2009

Flight of the ConchordsAfter just two hilarious seasons, Flight of the Conchords is ending its television run.

In an announcement on their website, Bret McKenzie and  Jermaine Clement informed fans they would not be going ahead with production of the third season of the HBO television series, one that garnered them two Emmy nominations earlier this year.

“We’ve noticed the less we say about the future of the show, the more people want to talk about it, so in an effort to reverse this trend we are today announcing that we won’t be returning for a 3rd season,” the post read. “We’re very proud of the two seasons we made and we like the way the show ended. We’d like to thank everyone who helped make the show and also everyone who watched it.”

“While the characters Bret and Jemaine will no longer be around, the real Bret and Jemaine will continue to exist.’’
