I’ve come to realize that movie logic is pretty much a more grown up version of cartoon logic. In a movie or cartoon, just about anything could happen. While cartoons typically gloss over inconsistencies, movies sometimes offer a quick line or two to explain these gaping plot holes. Sometimes, they don’t. While it’s pretty much universally understood that what happens in the movies doesn’t actually happen in real life, we can’t help but nitpick.
Enter CinemaSins who continue to point out film flaws that have been bugging many a viewer since a film’s release. This time around, they point out everything wrong with The Dark Knight. Does this lessen my enjoyment of the movie? No, but I’m glad there’s other people in the world who noticed all this inconsistencies.
Can they do the Dark Knight Rises next and just rip apart Bruce Wayne’s prompt return to Gotham City? Because really, that was messed up.
I thought the Overly Attached girlfriend played by Justin Bieber-obsessed Laina was the creepiest thing I’d seen, but the Overly Attached Joker just bumped it up a few levels. Batman’s joker found a fan of Laina’s dressed up as the YouTube sensation and harassed him, trying to figure out where to find her.
The Joker tied the dude to a chair and videotaped the interrogation. The Joker is so obsessed with Laina he has a shrine dedicated to her, complete with a life size cardboard cutout and a photo montage. He joked Laina must turn herself in and every day she doesn’t a fan will die.
His impression of The Joker is pretty spot on and you probably won’t sleep tonight, especially if you’re a Laina fan. [via Reddit]

Though it has been states many times over, The Dark Knight Rises will in fact be Christopher Nolan’s last Batman installment. News this week surfaced in regard to unused footage of Heath Ledger in the role of the Joker. Rumor had it that Nolan was planning on using some of this footage for the new film.
According to Comingsoon.net, Nolan spoke to Thompson on Hollywood to refute the rumors about the Joker footage and give some ambiguous information (in true Nolan fashion) about The Dark Knight Rises. Nolan said that the rumors are all false. The Joker will not appear in the new film. Nolan did reveal that Tom Hardy, who we have been speculating about for some time, will have an important role in the film. Of course Nolan didn’t say whether Hardy will be playing a hero or a villain. Nolan loves his secrets!
The director is still working on the script which is a collaborative effort between him and his brother Jonathan. The script is due in January and Warner Bros. has set the release date of the film for mid July right in the middle of summer blockbuster season.
