One contestant on the new season of “The Bachelor”, Erica, faints while realizing she’s sent packing by Ben, the a man-whore with roses.

Ben and the rest of the desperate cat ladies pretend to care. Producers send a medic to the scene in case she actually dies of a broken heart. Don’t worry, she survived with only a bruised ego and a broken will to live.

The infamous Rachel Uchitel, of Tiger Woods’ sex scandal fame, was recently turned down, reports RadarOnline.  With her not-so-great track record with relationships, it should come as no surprise that Jake Pavelka (The Bachelor) didn’t fall prey to her advances.

A source said that Uchitel attempted to court Pavelka via email, sending one of his close friends a message asking to be hooked up with the now-single guy.  The source told RadarOnline, “Jake thinks she’s probably a ‘nice girl’ but isn’t looking to date anytime soon.”  We’re hesitant to call her a “nice girl,” but good on Pavelka for the manners.

This is just speculation, but Uchitel might need to wait until Pavelka actually gets married for her powers of seduction to work.

Jake Pavelka and Vienna Girardi took to the airwaves last night to talk about their breakup. Hot topics of the interview included Vienna selling her story to a tabloid, and Jake’s alleged emotional abuse.

The good people at People.com have provided a summary of the interview:

Round 1: How it all fell apart

Jake: “The relationship was going downhill but I wasn’t ready to quit fighting.”

Vienna: “The first month together was great. He was crazy about me. From there it went straight downhill. It felt like a relationship when cameras were rolling or we were out on a red carpet, but when we were at home [it was] lonely. I just wanted him to be around me and talk to me and kiss me like a normal relationship.”
Round 2: The tabloid interview

Vienna: “Either way, our relationship had been public. The world was going to want to know what happened . . . I hadn’t had a voice this entire time.”

Jake: “I’m so mad at you. I’m disgusted with you.”

Vienna: “You are a fame whore is what you are.”

Round 3: Their life after The Bachelor

Vienna: “My impression was that you were a pilot and we were going to go back to Florida and Dallas and live a normal life. Instead, we’re in L.A. and you’re pursuing a career in acting.”

Jake: “At least I was pursuing a career in something.”
Round 4: Jake’s turn on Dancing with the Stars

Vienna: “He never acknowledged me. We were never together, ever, throughout the whole thing. I was excited to spend time with him [on the show].”

Jake: “She was excited because I put her on TV.”

Jake: “She’s like a tabloid. You get 40 percent of the truth.”

Vienna: “He was always mean to me and treated me like I was a child.”

Vienna: “I am sorry that I went about it the way I did. But I know you, and I knew you would have [sold your story to a tabloid] if I didn’t.”

Vienna: [Storms out, crying] “He is the biggest liar I’ve ever met in my life!”

Wait, you mean…reality TV shows don’t really lead to love?

Jake Pavelka and Vienna Girardi, who found each other on the completely legitimate love show The Bachelor just a few months ago, have ended their engagement, reports E! News. That brings the total number of failed Bachelor pairs to 13.

“Jake and Vienna have split and appreciate the respect for their privacy at this time,” Pavelka’s rep said in a statement.

It’s okay, one of them is bound to end up on another season of The Bachelor and fine “true love” for real this time.

Melissa Rycroft has gone from one reality tv series to the next.  Jilted by Jason Mesnick on the season finale of The Bachelor, Rycroft will rebound on the hit show – Dancing With the Stars, People has learned.  

Rycroft originally received the coveted proposal from Mesnick, and was publicly dumped six weeks later for the runner-up bachelorette, Molly Malaney.  According to tvwatch.com, Mesnick is not proud of what he had to do.  “After we got back into the real world, all of a sudden, we had less to talk about and I didn’t know why.  I started thinking wow, what’s happening? Why aren’t we communicating the way we did when the show was going on … There was part of me that wanted things to work out with Melissa so bad.  But the whole other piece was I had these crazy feelings for Molly.” 

Rycroft, 25, is to fill the slot vacated by Access Hollywood host Nany O’Dell, who had to withdraw from the competition on March 5 due to a knee injury.  A source close to the production stated the the Dallas beauty is expected to perform live on the Monday premiere of the show.  

A spokesperson for ABC declined to comment.

By now, we all know Jason Mesnick is “a bastard.”

ABC’s most recent loser from The Bachelor reached a new low (even for reality TV) at Monday night’s After The Final Rose (ATFR) ceremony.

If you never watched The Bachelor—I’m pretty sure you did last night. After all, the show’s dramatic season finale was the series’ largest ever in five years. 15.5 million of us tuned into the two-hour season finale and, after learning that “the winner” Melissa Rycroft was traded in for runner-up Molly Malaney, another 2.5 million tuned in for the ATFR show.

I’m pretty sure Rycroft was not too please to learn the ratings.

As you know, there’s something special about giving yourself fully to someone on national television. From your time, support, trust, love and er body, giving “the one you love” everything you have in exchange for the same is a risk some people take—especially on a reality show. Add humiliation and lack of privacy and I can’t help but wonder why anyone would give up an opportunity to appear on television in search of love.

But even though people who actually go on these shows should expect to get turned down, the dumper can do it with class or like an ass.

Ass way won for Mesnick.

After declaring his love for Rycroft, viewers oohed and aahed over what seemed like a sweet and sentimental (barf) and perhaps even legit declaration of love by Mesnick. We refused to believe the rumours circulating on the Net that Mesnick would dump her for Malaney. Some of us may have turned off our TVs—satisfied that a happily (never) after just occurred.

So during the ATFR special—taped six weeks after Mesnick’s proposal—Me nick lets it all out. He tells Rycroft he still has feelings for whatshername. You know, the girl he said wasn’t good enough only to be good enough six weeks later?

Upon hearing this news, Rycroft calls him a bastard (hoorah). She tells him not to call her or talk to her ever again. She gives her ring back (which she should’ve actually kept since HE dumped HER) and walks off the stage.

Mesnick swears he and Malaney have not been in contact. We can smell bullpoop from miles away.

What baffles me the most is that Malaney actually agreed to give this jerk another shot at love. Does she really think he will be different to her? It’s like your date acting rude to a waiter. Jet out ASAP (after your date pays the bill, of course).

As for Malaney—yes he should’ve dumped Rycroft if he had no true feelings for her but that boy (I refuse to call him a man) didn’t have to do it on national television. Whether the network wanted him to for ratings—it doesn’t matter. And as for ABC, you are jerks as well for airing this just for ratings.

But should it not work out between Mesnick and Malaney (because why would it?), I think Mesnick will be destined to stay The Bachelor–forever.

Andrew Firestone married model Ivana Bozilovic over the weekend, reports E! News.

According to the site, the former “Bachelor” swapped vows with Bozilovic in a central coastal town just north of Santa Barbara, California where his family owns a vineyard.

Firestone, who is the great-grandson of Firestone Tire and Rubber Co. founder Harvey Firestone, proposed to on Bozilovic’s 30th birthday—after two years of dating.

“I was hoping she would say yes,” Firestone told “Us Weekly” back in October. “I was banking on it!”

Firestone was also previously briefly engaged to Jennifer Schefft – to whom he gave the final rose in season three of “The Bachelor.”

“Sometimes you get hurt before you actually make it right,” Firestone said recently. “[Ivana] makes me a better person. Never before have I been so gushy.”

ABC’s The Bachelor doesn’t have the greatest track record when it comes to successful couplings.

Mary Delgado and Byron Velvick, one of the show’s last standing hookups, got into quite the domestic dispute just hours after appearing on this season’s After the Rose special.

Delgado was arrested in Florida on charges of assaulting Velvick at 12:15 on Wednesday morning. The angry confrontation, according to police, resulted in Delgado hitting Velvick in the face and splitting his upper lip.

PEOPLE reports that when police got to the two-bedroom townhouse that the couple shares in Tampa, they arrested the 40-year-old former Bachelor contestant and took her to the Pinellas County Jail.

She was charged with one count of battery and was released after about 14 hours.

The couple appeared on the Bachelor’s sixth season where Byron Velvick gave Delgado the final rose and a marriage proposal.

The couple has lived together for almost three years and said that they have plans to marry next year.

Ladies, remember when you were a little girl who harboured dreams of a fairy-tale marriage to a prince? Well, you too could live happily ever after, if you signed on as a contestant on ABC’s reality series “The Bachelor.”

In its new season, the network is taking 25 women to Rome, where they will turn on the charm, hike up the skirts, and – hopefully – lure in this year’s bachelor Prince Lorenzo Borghese.

If 24 other women wasn’t competition enough, the show is also throwing in two yet-to-be-identified natives from Italy for the 34-year-old prince to choose from.

Of the 25 bachelorettes making the trip across the pond, only one is Canadian – 30-year-old Sarah, a journalist from British Columbia.

The series premieres Monday at 9 p.m. EST on ABC.
