On this video countdown, Andy Samberg re-cuts his own trailer for “That’s My Boy” and it’s a total success. We also learn some dirty sign language (“Show me your genitals” anyone?) and have an on-air spontaneous dance session, inspired by Jay & Dan.
Andy Samberg recently announced his retirement from SNL (boo) and now he’ll be starring in the upcoming lowbrow comedy “That’s My Boy” with SNL alumni Adam Sandler. Lately Sandler’s films have been disappointing and slightly slapstick but this recut trailer looks halfway decent.
“I haven’t seen the film yet but I took it upon myself to cut a trailer for it anyway,” jokes Samberg in the clip.
This version stars pretty much everyone in history, including Adam Lambert, the prime minister of Israel, Tom Cruise, and Seth Roen, Jonah Hill, Jason Segel and Ben Stiller in a tin of sardines.
It also stars a bunch of people with names spookily similar to Samberg and Sandler, like Shmandy Blanderberg. Will you see it on June 15?
Watch it here:
Poor Adam Sandler recently broke the record for the most Razzi nominations for his horrendous film Jack and Jill. That’s not very good publicity to run on for his new movie That’s My Boy, which also stars Andy Samberg and Leighton Meester.
The film follows a dud father (Sandler) who moves in with his son right before the big wedding and begins sparring with his son and daughter-in-law. You know the usual, too much drinking, too much partying and too much leeching.
First of all, in real life, Sandler would have conceived Samberg when he was 12 if he was his father!!
Some critics are saying it’s a return to his original Happy Gilmore days but I’m still not convinced. I hope for Samberg’s sake it’s a hit. Samberg is a longtime Sandler fan so I understand why he would sign on but I thought he was better than that!
