The movie Madagascar has turned itself into franchise with two other movies and a television show dedicated to its rag-tag team of penguins. Let’s also not forget the number of shorts and its long line of merchandise the franchise based on zoo animals can also boast.
The Madagascar movies just get better and better, and have managed to rope in an older demographic. Everyone loves the hilarious characters, implicit innuendos, sharp humour and larger than life plot lines. It also helps that the franchise has a star-studded cast that include David Schwimmer, Chris Rock, Ben Stiller, and Jada Pinkett Smith.
In the most recent instalment, Madagascar 3: Europe’s Most Wanted, their devoted audience has been introduced to a Russian tiger, a sexualized grizzly bear, and an emotional sea lion. It only goes up hill from here.
HERE ARE 17 REASONS WHY WE LOVE THE MADAGASCAR FRANCHISE
1) The mischievous penguins

2) Afro Circus

3) Gloria’s fierceness

4) The car chase scenes
5) Some animals are so fluffy you want to put them in your pocket
OH MY NOSTALGIA. Remember owning an N64 console?
At that point, there were only two Pokémon titles available: Pokémon Stadium, and Pokémon Snap. Yes, I know these weren’t the best of the Pokemon games in it’s series, but hey, we were willing to work with what we got. Anyways, YouTube channel Gritty Reboots, takes all the things we know and love, and turns them into movie trailers. This time, they decided to make Pokémon Snap actually epic in this re-imagining.
You might be wondering – how do you even make a trailer about the worst Pokémon game? Well, they did it, and it’s actually really awesome! The animation of the Pokemon, the effects, and an actual plot line seriously makes me want to start a Kickstarter project to get this movie made in real life. Seriously. Take my money. Make it happen.

It’s Carrie’s birthday on this week’s episode of The Carrie Diaries (“The Long and Winding Road not Taken”). Instead of having a small get-together like she wanted, it seems like Carrie and all her friends have prior commitments. Mouse embarks on a mission to get a reccomendation from a Harvard alum and once agains endes up going head to dead with jock Thomas West. Maggie resolves things with Walt, but not in the way she wanted too, while Carrie takes care of Sebastian instead of networking an Interview party. Carrie’s birthday ends up being a non-event, as everyone has their own mission to accomplish. I think the mot successful at accomplishing their goals this episode is Walt who bumps into Bennet at the Interview party and it seems to go much more smoothly then their last interaction (is that really some acceptance we are starting to see?). Doritt also passes a new benchmark as she gets her first kiss after she attempts to shoplift. Some punishment…
This episode ended with a belated birthday celebration, first kisses, friendships resolved, relationships evolving, and a credit card.
1) Carrie and Sebastian
The two love birds are chirping…all around school. Carrie and Sebastian are getting hot and heavy. The two make-out all around school which result in an annoyed Donna and chapped lips for Carrie. Carrie’s friends tell her that she will definitely be losing her virginity to him soon. It doesn’t happen in this episode but can this be considered as foreshadowing?
2) Happy Birthday Carrie

It’s Carrie’s birthday, and all she wants is a get together with her family and closest friends. Unfortunately, that’s not what she gets. When Larissa asks for her to work an Interview party, Carrie is too scared to tell her that it’s her birthday.
3) Walt and Maggie resolve things
BAMF Girls Club by Comediva is quickly becoming one of my new favourite shows. It stars kickass female characters like Harry Potter’s Hermione Granger, The Hunger Games’ Katniss Everdeen and The Walking Dead’s Michonne… And then of course there’s Twilight’s Bella, but I don’t know if she’s earned the strong, female role model label (sorry Bella).
Anyway, two new episodes are finally out. The first involves the ladies setting down house rules and unsuccessfully trying to elect a leader. The second guest stars Game of Thrones’ Arya Stark, who got herself into trouble and is forced to spend a day with Hermione as punishment. Though personally, I’d love to spend a day with the witch!

One of the hottest shows around, “Pretty Little Liars”, is back on the tube tonight and the creator is dishing out on the scandalous new season.
In an interview with The Insider, creator Marlene King reveals the winter premiere of “Pretty Little Liars” will finally unmask the mysterious character that is known as “A”.
Marlene say aside from discovering who “A” is, the pretty girls will also ”find out something about Allison that they didn’t know and they start retracing her steps from the Halloween episode to her death. There’s a big revelation about Allison that is shocking and filled with mystery and fun also.” Sounds so juicy!
She sums up the closing finale in the best way possible: “It is a freight train driving full steam ahead with no breaks and this never-ending series of OMG moments.”
The second season of “Pretty Little Liars” takes off tonight on MuchMusic and ABC Family at 8 p.m. EST.
