You’ve got to admit, Justin Bieber’s European leg of his Believe tour has been a bit crazy. I swear I can’t go a few days without hearing news about him. From getting booed at the O2 arena in London, to Selena’s “Well, that makes two of us” on Letterman when the late night host said that he made Justin cry— it’s actually been a crazy few months.
It’s not all that bad for Justin, however, since he has had a few good moments while in Europe. Here’s a graph detailing the high and lows of his tour so far. Keep in mind, there are a lot of stories that have come out from Justin that I couldn’t fit on the graph, like how he honoured the death of Briana, a fan who he’s met that passed away, and getting schools in Norway to rearrange their exam schedule. (I mean seriously, you have to be THAT awesome and important to get a few schools to change their exams schedule!). Take a look below:
When it comes to music, Justin Bieber doesn’t play around.
The Biebs picked just some of today’s best new artists to join him in the pages of his Teen Vogue issue. Making the cut are The Wanted, Carly Rae Jepsen, Tori Kelly, Big Sean and new comer, Madison Bear.
The Wanted’s Max George told the magazine, “When we toured with Justin, it was an eye-opener to see how wild it could be—to think that we could be that big too.”
“We learned a lot from him,” added the group’s youngest member Nathan Sykes. “He knows how to put on a good show.”

Justin Bieber is having a crazy time right now. March started with a wild and shirtless 19th birthday party in London which apparently turned out to be the worst birthday ever, he collapsed on stage, he hit a paparazzo, got dissed by his ex Selena, and then got his pet monkey confiscated! That last one sounds unreal, like when did J-Biebs get a monkey anyway?!
Hopefully the month of April will be a turning point for Justin and it’s already off to a good start with the release of his duel Teen Vogue covers for the magazine’s May issue. Judge which cover you like best.

But Justin isn’t the only celebrity who gets to celebrate scoring a magazine cover. April may have just started but the magazine industry is already busting out its May issues.

So check out who also landed themselves a cover and find out which celeb will rule the newsstand!

I needed a few seconds to get over how pretty Demi Lovato looks in these new Teen Vogue photos. Those rosy cheeks paired with her lovely mermaid hair. Swoon. As if the photos weren’t beautiful enough, Demi opened up to Teen Vogue about some serious topics — including her recovery from rehab. I totally love Demi for doing this. She’s turning out to be a great role model for girls her age and even younger.

Here are 5 amazing gifs from the photo shoot:
This one says, “I’m Demi Lovato. Watch me as I bat my lashes in slow motion.”
Unimpressed Demi is unimpressed.
TREND: One-Piece Swim Suits
There may be a month left of summer (@shitgirlssay: “This summer’s going by so fast!”), but you’ll probably spend it at the beach, right? Just in case you’re getting tired of your bikinis or realized you spent all summer eating delicious food instead of working on your beach bod (GPOY), one piece suits are the solution. They are a far cry from the old boring suits as cut outs and deep v’s add some sexy details. One piece suits also give designers room for more interesting prints, so keep a look out for great graphics. Better yet, they’re probably on sale right now as the “50 per cent off” signs go up while the summer winds down.
INSPIRATION: Rihanna

TREND: Denim shirts
It’s a trend that’s been quietly growing for a while, but one I’ve been hesitant about. I kept flashing back to photos of myself from the nineties where I’m rocking pretty awful Canadian tuxedos. Now, I become jealous instead of embarrassed as I see more and more bloggers (both men and women) looking dapper as they rock the American classic. Thankfully, the cuts on both denim shirts and jeans are more flattering, and the fabric supple and soft. The denim shirt’s soft blue hue makes it easy to pair with a nice pair of dark-wash jeans or skirt which can create a more dressed-down, but not sloppy, look. You could also try pairing it with those coloured jeans you invested in back in spring to help build on that wardrobe of yours.
INSPIRATION: Selena Gomez on the cover of Teen Vogue
WTF: Griz Coats
I always appreciate design created with humour and these Griz Coats are no exception. I’ve categorized this Kickstarter project under the WTF? section because it’s what I’d be thinking if I ever saw someone wearing this on the streets. On their Kickerstarter page, the company Buffoonery Factory claims the coat is “highly appropriate for: Halloween, Bay to Breakers, Monday morning meetings, most weddings, Tuesday morning meetings, high school reunions, and first dates.” Halloween, yes, but the rest, not so much. I’d still buy one but save it for the house on cold, Canadian mornings.
Apparently Teen Vogue wasn’t as forthcoming as Seventeen Magazine when 14-year-old Julia Bluhm asked them to stop Photoshopping their models and celebrities in mid-July. Instead of the tour and cupcakes the ladies were met with at Seventeen, they just got cold hard stares from the editors of Teen Vogue.
While that’s totally uncool, it’s nice to see that their September issue is a little more subdued and natural looking — something teen girls can ACTUALLY relate to. Selena Gomez looks GORG on the cover and inside spread, wearing little makeup, frolicking with horses by the ocean and relaxing on the beach.

In the behind the scenes video, girl raves about wearing cozy sweaters (probably Justin’s) and casual jeans. The 20-year-old also talks about taking more mature movie roles and choosing pieces for her fashion line (no biggie). Compared to her other two cover shoots with the magazine, this is by far her most laid-back. LOVE.

It looks like the teenage girls of the world finally want to see some real girls in their magazine.
It all started when 14-year-old Julia Bluhm petitioned Seventeen magazine to stop Photoshopping their models back in April. While Seventeen magazine maintains they don’t use the digital tool to alter faces or body shapes, Editor-in-Chief Ann Shoket published a “Body Peace Treaty” in their August issue. While Seventeen will still use Photoshop to get rid of wrinkles on clothing, misplaced bra straps and the odd zit, the magazine promises to be more transparent and publish the before and after shots on their tumblr page.
Now, the attention has turned to Teen Vogue. Sixteen-year-old Carina Cruz and 17-year-old Emily Stydahar have started an online petition to make Teen Vogue print a similar promise in their pages. The younger sister of the magazine bible says they, too, don’t retouch photos. While that’s all fine and dandy, the girls want the magazine editors acknowledge their practices in the magazine for all their readers to see.
The online petition has just 28,000 online signatures. Cruz and Stydahar also hope to stage a mock runway today outside of Teen Vogue’s offices with “models” holding hand-written messages on dry erase boards.
While asking for a no-Photoshop policy is unrealistic, asking for transparency isn’t. Here’s to hoping the magazine’s high powered editors take notice. This is 21st century Girl Power at its finest.
Here’s some Beyoncé to get you in the Girl Power mood:
In the world of celebrity news, there’s no shortage of hits and misses. This week, John Mayer is creepy and hits on Jennifer Lawrence and Justin Bieber feels “disrespected” by fans.
HIT: Andrew Garfield and Emma Stone are invading your magazine stand

Garfield is on Nylon Guys, British GQ, i-D and VMan, while Stone has New York Magazine and Vogue, with an extensive spread. They also look adorable together on Teen Vogue. The Teen Vogue interview is a good read as two banter with each other, Stone talks about the stupid questions she gets, and Garfield reveals his man-crush on Ryan Gosling. I may or may not rush into my local Chapters, place all the magazines together, and label that section “OTP.”
MISS: Justin Bieber is rude to fans as he waits for Selena Gomez
While JBiebs’ star shone at the legendary Apollo Theater in New York, the media blew up a scuffle he had with some fans at the airport. Apparently, Bieber was bothered by the number of fans who were asking for his autograph as he waited for Selena Gomez. “I’ve had a long day, I flew in,” said Bieber. “I don’t have to be nicer about it. You guys are in my face.” Bieber was probably having an off day and you have to admit, it must be frustrating to have no privacy. Everybody has those days once in a while!

Cody Simpson’s new track “Got Me Good” has a bit of a Jack Johnson vibe that’s perfect for lazy summer days when you’re sunning by the water, under the shade with absolutely nothing to do.
Cody premiered his latest single on his YouTube account over the weekend. The track is from his upcoming EP Preview to Paradise, out June 12 (my birthday FYI). The laid back tune combined with the dance number “So Listen” shows the album has some serious versatility.
The track is also about (surprise) girls, which isn’t a surprise considering what he recently told Teen Vogue at a photo shoot recently. He croons: “Word on the street is that you’re single,
so baby have you heard my single?”
We’re excited to see what else is on the album. What does everyone else think of the track?
Listen to it here:
Our favourite Aussie Cody Simpson was photographed for Teen Vogue, looking dapper with retro inspired hair. The behind the scenes video is basically his dating profile as he talked about girls and then more about girls.
Here’s his unofficial dating profile:
Cody’s perfect girl is someone who has a relaxed personality with a certain level of self-respect and class. Naturally she has to be a fun time and apparently dayam good looking too, because his celebrity crushes are Eva Longoria and fellow Aussie Miranda Kerr. Cody enjoys long walks on the beach followed by a zesty dinner and perhaps he’ll teach you how to surf.
He said most of his songs currently revolve around girls but that wasn’t always so. The very first song he wrote when he was seven was actually about chickens. Here’s how it started: ”I bought some chickens and I changed their diapers.”
“I hope my song writing concepts have improved since then,” he laughed.
Cody also talked about how music was always a big element in the Simpson household.
“I’ve been around music since I was very young. My dad had always sung and played guitar around family and friends,” he said. “We’d all sit around the fire singing country songs.”
We can’t wait to see the final spread, which will be in the June/July issue!

Selena Gomez is temporarily pausing her music career to focus on acting, specifically on a new action flick called “The Getaway,” with Ethan Hawke.
With the help of her stepdad, she took a moment to make a random video to answer fan questions. ”One of the favourite things I’ve been doing this year is being really focused on more acting. For me it’s been really fun to kind of take risks and do things that are completely different. Maybe some of you guys might not be comfortable with it but I’m not doing anything that I’m completely uncomfortable with doing.”

The 19-year-old has also been busy promoting her debut fragrance, because you’re apparently not successful if you don’t brand your scent. She told Teen Vogue about the fragrance, which will be out this summer. She put it together with the help of her fans and describes it as fruity but strong.
Teen Vogue photoshoot:

Reasons why I love Katy Perry: she has wicked blue hair, she’d go to Starbucks in a bedazzled, feathered costume, and she loves M83 and Gotye.
During her photoshoot with Teen Vogue, she revealed she’s a bit of a control freak and very hands on when she chooses her wardrobe. ”I’m involved with everything I do to an annoying point,” she said.
She also talked about the attention she’d get when she first started singing as a young child. “I felt like I had a magic trick cause everybody’s attention would be everywhere else and then when I’d start singing they’d be like aw! So it was like the only thing that I could pull out of my hat.”

Lisa Love usually gets what she wants – but this time that may not be the case. With The Hills’s sixth and last season premiering on April 27, people are buzzing if LC will ever appear on the screen again, even just for the season finale. E! Online reports that Lisa Love believes she should.
“The show gave her a great run,” the Teen Vogue editor told E last night at Diego Della Valle’s MOCA fundraiser at Tod’s in Bevery Hills. “She should definitely come back for the finale.”
The show’s creator, Adam DiVello, told EW.com that his dream was to have LC walk down the aisle for the last episode. Love, however, has other ideas.
“It’d be fun if Lauren and I caught up in Paris,” Love suggested. “I think they could find a way to make it work with her coming back.”
Although Love is hoping for Conrad’s comeback, she has not been following the reality TV show since Conrad left.
“It was over many years ago for me, and I haven’t watched it since,” Love said. “I never watched it even when I was on. You don’t want to watch yourself on TV. I only follow what’s going on with the cast when I’m at the airport.”
The 24-year-old clothing designer has been focusing on just that – her clothing line, The Lauren Conrad Collection, as well as writing New York Times Best Seller LA Candy and Sweet Little Lies: An L.A. Candy Novel. All of which leaves her choice, but to leave her reality TV days behind her.
Vanessa Hudgens may be turning 20 this year but she’s not in any rush.
“Your fans are the ones who support your movies,” she says in the new issue of Teen Vogue. “Without them, your career is over. I’m turning 20 this year, so of course I’m going to have to grow up. But I’ll do it when the time is right.”
Hudgens has enjoyed success with the family-oriented Disney musical blockbuster High School Musical. The last of the franchise series is the upcoming HSM3 movie, scheduled for release on October 24.
Hudgens’ music career has capitalized on her young teen fanbase from High School Musical, having recently released her sophomore solo album.
“It’s a little more sophisticated [than my first album],” Hudgens explains, “though not in a sense where it’s too old for my fans.”
Hudgens has not been without controversy. Nude photographs of the young Disney star surfaced on the internet this past year. She, along with Disney, has worked vigorously to restore her wholesome image.
