Taylor Swift

When it came to last night’s Teen Choice Awards, there were no glaring sartorial errors. If I had one complaint it’s that some of the styles were a little safe and boring. We saw tons of classic silhouettes and brights colours walking down the pink carpet.
Taylor Swift (above) was the big winner of the night, snatching her 20th trophy, which is the most won by a female artist EVER. Last night she won five awards: choice female artist, female country artist, single by a female artist for “Eyes Open,” country song for “Sparks Fly” and choice movie voice for “Dr. Seuss’ The Lorax.” WOA. She wins as one of my favourite stylistas of the night, opting for a white dress by Maria Lucia Hohan. The back was beautifully cut and I love the sheer straps.

Time to break out the surfboards again as voting for this year’s Teen Choice Awards finally begins!
Hit sci-fi show The Vampire Diaries and reality show American Idol lead the pack in nominations apiece. The blood sucking show is nominated for Choice TV Show (Fantasy/Sci-Fi), Choice TV actor (Ian Somerhalder AND Paul Wesley), and Choice TV actress (Nina Dobrev AND Kat Graham). Idol is nominated for Choice TV Male and Female Personalities (Steven Tyler and Jennifer Lopez), Choice TV Reality Show Competition, and Choice TV Male and Female Reality Stars (Scotty McCreery and Lauren Alaina).
Justin Bieber leads the artist category with five nominations: Choice Male Artist, Choice Single, Fashion Icon, Choice Male Hottie, and Choice Twit. He will probably win every single one.
I would love to see Twilight lose every category its in (Choice movie, choice actor, and choice actress all for the fantasy/sci-fi category). I’m actually a bit offended the book series was even nominated for choice book because there are so many other Young Adult novels actually worth your time and money (i.e. The Hunger Games, The Fault in our Stars, etc.).
I would also love to see Ryan Gosling win some awards, because who wouldn’t love to see Gosling looking suave on the red carpet? Come on, teens of the world! Make my dreams come true!
And the Teen Choice Award goes to…
Hosted by “Big Bang Theory”‘s Kaley Cuoco, the 2011 Teen Choice Awards were anything but dull; from blue and orange surfboards, to Ashton Kutcher belting out “Teenage Dream,” to Justin Bieber busting a move during Selena Gomez & the Scene’s performance of their single, “Love You Like a Love Song,” to Robert Pattinson’s moving Cancer Bites speech after winning Choice Vampire. My favourite part of the night? The Harry Potter tribute montage followed by a live chat with the one and only Daniel Radcliffe through the wonderful world of modern technology, to put it in the words of Rupert Grint. The film won itself and its actors a whopping seven Teen Choice Award surfboards, including the awards for Choice Summer Movie, Choice Summer Female Star, which went to Emma Watson, and Choice Movie Liplock, which went to Danielle Radcliffe and Emma Watson.
Here is the full list of winners:
MOVIES
Choice Summer Movie
“Captain America: The First Avenger”
“Harry Potter and the Deathly Hallows: Part 2″
“Horrible Bosses”
“Monte Carlo”
“Transformers: Dark of the Moon”
The Justin Bieber gravy train just won’t stop. Of course the Teen Choice Awards air tonight, and the Biebs is nominated for multiple awards. They include:
- Choice Music Male Artist
-Choice TV Villain for his guest appearance on CSI
- Choice Red-Carpet Male Fashion Icon
- Choice Male Hottie
So what do you think he will win? His guest appearance on CSI wasn’t that bad.
Levi Johnston is living up to his “King Douchebag” title very well. Last night Levi was at the Teen Choice Awards where he tried to pick up Sandra Bullock – big mistake!
PopEater reports that Levi spent the night trying to get Sandra Bullock’s attention, but Sandra was not buying. “All night long Levi was trying to get close to Sandra,” an award show insider tells PopEater. “He desperately wanted to get his picture taken with Sandra hoping it would show up on the cover of a magazine or at least be able to meet her in person and give America’s sweetheart his phone number. Sandra was having none of it, telling everyone, ‘get him away from me.’”
Can’t someone tell this guy his 15 minutes are up! And it’s only going to get worse now that he has his own reality TV show. We can’t wait to see him next season on “Celebrity Rehab.” However Dr. Drew probably can’t stand him either.
Teens know what they want, and what they want is “Gossip Girl” and the Jonas Brothers.
The pop culture sensations each garnered six surfboard trophies on Sunday at the 10th annual Teen Choice Awards.
“Gossip” stars Blake Lively, Chace Crawford and Ed Westick each took home their own awards, for Best Breakout Actress, Actor and Villain, respectively. Lively was also named the best TV Drama Actress.
The Jonas Brothers got an obscene amount of love from the crowd, picking up the titles of “choice breakout group, love song, music single, song of the summer, male red carpet fashion icons and male hotties,” CBC News reports.
Miley Cyrus, who reportedly once dated one the Jonas bros, picked up three awards herself, despite the fact that she was hosting. She won for best TV comedy, best TV comedy actress and best female artist.
Canadian cutie Ellen Page picked up the awards for choice breakout movie female and choice movie actress in a comedy for her performance in “Juno,” which also won for best film comedy.
