I’ve always marvelled at Taylor Swift’s ability to remain constantly shocked and amazed at the world, like a kid seeing bubbles for the first time. This is how she looks 90 percent of the time:

That’s not a bad thing. In fact, it’s pretty charming that she’s managed to stay humble despite all her success. Still, it’s definitely parody-worthy behaviour. In Swift’s unofficial new video for “Who Me” featuring The Soup’s Joel McHale, she goes crazy for everything. She can’t believe her luck when she runs into full rolls of toilet paper in the bathroom and gets Tootsie Rolls at Halloween.McHale even buys her a bunch of appletinis, which apparently make her feel pretty. Watch to see whether McHale is a gentleman and holds her hair back when she gets sick. [Source]

While you were busy watching Hunger Games AGAIN this weekend and thinking about all the chores you should be doing instead, Taylor Swift was recognized by the First Lady for her activism and chosen as Entertainer of the Year by her fans. She effectively makes us all feel like beached seals.
Meeting Michelle Obama
Taylor was presented an award at Saturday’s Kids’ Choice Awards by Michelle Obama for her outstanding charity work (above). Taylor donated the proceeds from a Nashville benefit show to raise more than $750 million for tornado victims and also donated $500,000 to Nashville flood relief efforts. Standing up in front of thousands, being honoured for helping the world and meeting Obama for the first time was enough to inspire Taylor’s trademark look of complete shock.
Entertainer of the Year
Remember when Taylor asked her cat fans to vote for her as Entertainer of the Year at the Academy of Country Music Awards? Well, what Taylor commands, her fans to do. She beat out Kenny Chesney and Brad Paisley with her army of fans. Win.
Taylor gets a signed copy of The Hunger Games
Taylor Swift made us more even more jealous of her happy for her when she eagerly shared this photo of a valuable copy of The Hunger Games on Twitter, which was personally signed for her by author Suzanne Collins. What?! Collins scrawled a thoughtful note above what’s presumably a Katniss plant: “For Taylor, With much thanks for your beautiful songs. Let the Games begin! Love, Suzanne Collins.” Swift boasts she received it in the mail like it was no biggie but she continued the tweet with no less than 15 exclamation marks, so I think she was surprised too.
Rihanna battles boredom, doesn’t know what to do with herself
Rihanna flies around the world, fearlessly performs to thousands of fans and has a new action movie coming out, so understandably when she has a couple minutes to do nothing she battles intense cabin fever. Symptoms including taking photos of herself in distress and posting them on Twitter so her followers can offer her support through this trying time.

Taylor Swift will accept an award from Michelle Obama for her charitable work (yea, no biggie) and I can’t help thinking about how the pop princess will accept the award.
Swift always seems genuinely shocked whenever she wins. Yes Taylor, we love you, accept it! I’m thinking her expression will be something like below:

But seriously, the 22-year-old will be honoured by the President’s wife at the Kids’ Choice Awards for her outstanding charitable work, including raising $750,000 for tornado victims with her Speak Now fundraiser. [Hold applause, I'm not done yet.] She also works with the Make-A-Wish Foundation, the St. Jude Medical Center, Habitat for Humanity and the Red Cross.
The Big Help Award is given to those who take actions to better the world and inspire kids to do the same. Previous winners include Justin Timberlake and Leonardo DiCaprio. You can get involved by going to the Big Help website.

Another reason to love Taylor Swift: she has meaningful conversations with her adorable cat Meredith and records them for publicity fun.
In the video, Taylor teaches her surprisingly responsive cat how to vote for her at the Academy of Country Music Awards. Since the winners are chosen by popular vote, Taylor can campaign harder than Reese Witherspoon as Tracy Flick.
Of course, by teaching Meredith about ACM voting and posting the recording on Twitter she inadvertently teaches us all about the process too. Huh, see how that works? She has my vote either way because she seems so down to earth. You can vote for her as Entertainer of the Year, once a day, every day at the ACM website and watch the awards on April 1.
Watch the video here:

Even if you’re not into The Hunger Games like me, you have to admit they’ve wrangled up some of the most current artists for the movie’s soundtrack.
Kid Cudi recently dropped his track for the franchise called “The Ruler & The Killer.” The song is appropriately dark and haunting and I can imagine the tributes stalking their prey to this cut. The rapping is reminiscent of chanting too, which only reaffirms that the 12 districts are unwilling pawns of the Capitol.
Cudi rhymes: “Keep your mind in motion, yeah / Explain, yeah/ Remember you belong to me / Come on, we should get it going / Now, what I want is specific, hey, hey / You putting on a show for me / The ruler and the killer, baby.”
We already heard Taylor Swift’s song Safe & Sound and Arcade Fire’s Abraham’s Daughter. What do you think of this one?
Listen to it here:
Kesha has given us so much in her short career. She already claims the advent of brushing teeth with a gurgle of Jack Daniels and is a firm advocate for both animal rights and beards. Now, she gives us “Cock Pop.” The 25-year-old coined the term on Twitter, while recording with Dr. Luke and Benny Blanco. We’re not sure what Cock Pop entails but those two producers were involved with her hits “Tik Tok” and “We R Who We R.” So that’s a good sign, right?
Taylor Swift and her crew received welcome gifts from one of her fans. The T-shirts feature photos of their faces on the front. You say it’s strange to be wearing a T-shirt of yourself, I say it’s ironic.
Lauren Conrad is temporarily sacrificing the bohemian beaches and overpriced shops of Los Angeles for an African safari… and torturing us with her trip photos. Although she’s met some cute friends on her journey (above) she’s survived some perils too. Under the hashtag #safariproblems, she relayed the difficulty of self-manicures by headlamp.
Nicki Minaj finally found the men of her dreams. Here they are, wearing pink bowler hats, loin cloths, choker necklaces and furry anklets, all while preserving their masculinity. But which man will win the affection of Minaj? I think there’s only one way to decide that. It’s time for a limbo competition.

Watching scenes and listening to tracks from the upcoming Hunger Games movie is tempting but I feel like I’ll have seen the entire movie by the time it’s released on March 23. Don’t hold me to it, but I’m going to try to hold off from now on… after these ones of course.
Eyes Open
Today Taylor Swift previewed a minute of another song for the Hunger Games soundtrack. We already heard the eerie Safe and Sound and now we have Eyes Open. The song sounds a little too upbeat for the movie, where do you think it would fit?
Behind the scenes
Whether you’re into the book or not it’s interesting to see this behind the scenes footage. I’m sure some of these scenes won’t be recognizable on screen, after they go through special effects.
Shakira loves Skrillex
Shakira loves Skrillex so much that when she heard to song on her car radio in Barcelona she blasted it and started dancing.
Justin and Carly collaboration

Justin Bieber is doing everything he can to help his new artist Carly Rae Jepsen, even if that means collaborating with her. Jepsen mentioned in an interview with Ryan Seacrest that they’re working on a song that will be released soon. Bieber has been doing everything he can to promote her. On top of signing Jepsen to his own label, he called up some of his Disney friends and had them dance to “Call Me Maybe.”
Madonna’s “Girl Gone Wild” video
Snippets of songs from Madonna’s new album have been hitting us all week (to an annoying degree) and now we have a clip of her new video for “Girl Gone Wild.” Madonna gyrates with a bunch of male dancers in the black and white teaser. The video kind of reminds of Madonna’s earlier days.
Demi trashed hotels for fun

Demi Lovato has gone through some dark days and apparently she used to trash hotel rooms for kicks. In an interview with NYC radio Z103, she confessed to throwing things when she’s bored. “I break things,” she said. I’ve trashed dressing rooms just for the hell of it.” She also said she has thrown deli meat on the ceiling when she’s bored.
Taylor Swift rolls in cash
Taylor Swift was voted the number one moneymaker by Billboard. The country singer is only 22, but she still pocketed more cash from her album sales and world tour than U2, Lil Wayne and Lady Gaga, who were also on the Top 40 list.

The Arcade Fire really channeled the eerie and epic vibe of Hunger Games when creating the lead song to the soundtrack, “Abraham’s Daughter.”
The band’s frontman, Win Butler, told Entertainment Weekly:
“Our whole approach was to get into the world and try to create something that serves the story and the film. There’s something in the story of Abraham and Isaac that I think resonates with the themes in the film, like sacrificing children. So we made a weird, apocryphal, alternate-universe version of that, where it’s as if Abraham had a daughter — kind of a metaphor for Katniss.”
The band puts a lot of thought into their music and you can tell. The song, which was recorded last month, will be played over the film’s closing credits. They also contributed another song for the movie’s score called “Horn of Plenty.”
Hunger Games is certainly racking up a mega soundtrack considering we recently heard Taylor Swift’s song “Safe & Sound.” The T Bone Burnett-produced soundtrack also features the Decemberists, Kid Cudi and Miranda Lambert and will hit shelves on March 20.
Here is the full soundtrack, just to torture you:
The Hunger Games: Songs from District 12 and Beyond:
1. Taylor Swift – “Safe & Sound” (ft. the Civil Wars)
2. Taylor Swift – “Eyes Wide Open”
3. Arcade Fire – “Abraham’s Daughter”

5. Miranda Lambert – “Run Daddy Run” (ft. Pistol Annies)
6. The Civil Wars – “Kingdom Come”

13. Ella Mae Bowen – “Oh Come and Sing”
14. Jayme Dee – “Rules”
15. Carolina Chocolate Drops – “Reaping Day”
16. Neko Case – “Give Me Something I’ll Remember”

After a long hiatus John Mayer is back with his new song “Shadow Days.”
We imagine the tune would be perfect for a mildly generic romantic comedy during the pivotal scene when the two main characters realize they’re actually destined for each other after an overplayed cat and mouse chase.
The mellow, easy listening song was supposed to be released on March 6 but he ended up leaking the full version of the track on Cities97 Radio.
The lyrics chronicle a man who had a rough start but is finally ready to let go: “Well I ain’t no troublemaker, And I never meant her harm, But it doesn’t mean I didn’t make it hard to carry on.”
What does it really mean? Our guess is that it’s a resounding apology to all the celebrities he’s tainted in the past by dating them: Taylor Swift, Jennifer Aniston, Jessica Simpson…
My heart is melting. This morning Taylor Swift and Zac Efron went on the Ellen Show and unleashed their general cuteness on the world. The duo skirted around rumors that they are dating, but they clearly should be.
Swift has been teaching Efron how to play the guitar and they revamped Foster the People’s “Pumped Up Kicks” just for the morning show host. They sounded pretty good and even changed up the lyrics.
Swift and Efron were there to promote their new movie The Lorax. Although the whole act was clearly choreographed their chemistry seems pretty natural.
While Swift shared a story about her Valentine’s Day “singles” party with her friends, Efron said he had dinner with a special friend. He was pretty cryptic about who this special someone is but I don’t think it’s Taylor. But the rumor is certainly good promotion for their movie…
Pumped Up Kicks
Are they a couple?
Taylor Swift has a lot to be celebrating these days. Fresh off her double-Grammy win and performance of “Mean,” she debuts her music video for Safe and Sound, which is on the Hunger Games soundtrack. She wrote and performed the song with music duo The Civil Wars, who opened for her at the Grammys. The video, which was directed by Philip Andelman, is pretty mellow and mournful, just like the movie.
What do you think of it? Does it fit the tone of the movie?

Demi Lovato is trading her Mercedes for a horse – okay that was a tad over exaggerated. However, Lovato is definitely going country. She posted on Twitter that she is experimenting with country music.
“Wrote my first country song today.
” she wrote on Twitter on Thursday.
“I like to experiment with my music,” she told MTV News. “Someday, I joke around, but I’m actually pretty serious about coming out with a country album. I want to do everything. I love music and I love all types of music.”
Her latest album “Unbroken” has been a smash hit. If she starts going country, Taylor Swift better watch out.
Taylor Swift announced via Twitter that she has teamed up with The Civil Wars for a track on The Hunger Games soundtrack.
The song is called “Safe,” and fits The Hunger Games perfectly. Writing the lyrics “Just close your eyes / The sun is going down / You’ll be all right / No one can hurt you / In the morning light / You and I’ll be safe and sound” it’s clear that Swift and The Civil Wars are singing about lead character’s Katniss and Peeta’s relationship.
Taylor later tweeted the photo above and wrote, “And this is it, the big surprise… Go get it! #TheHungerGames”.
Have you heard the track yet? What do you think?
Last night’s Saturday Night Live was brilliantly hosted by alumni Jimmy Fallon and the musical guest was Michael Buble. There was a handful of holiday skits, but one of the standouts was definitely a hit.
In this hilarious promotional skit for ‘Michael Buble’s Christmas Duets’, the Canadian boy festives up with a pop-locking Justin Bieber, an overly humbled Taylor Swift, an auto-tuned Kanye West. Other spoofs by Jimmy Fallon and the SNL cast included Sting, Radiohead’s Thom Yorke, Russell Brand, American Idol’s Scotty McCreery and a barely recognizable Lady GaGa.
Buble is currently sitting comfortably on top of the American and Canadian Billboard charts and is reportedly on its way to being the second-highest selling album of this year. With 1.52 million copies sold in the States (after seven weeks) it is already the fourth biggest selling album of the year, according to Nielson SoundScan. It is expected to face some competition when it nears Adele’s “21″ that hit 5 million copies.

The country superstar turned 22 just 3 days ago and her dear friend Selena Gomez took a few minutes before going on stage to record her a special and adorable message.
The video was just posted on The Hollywood Life today but we’re certain Taylor got the memo on her actual birthday.
Selena Gomez had a concert that night in San Joe, California but she didn’t forget about Taylor’s big day. The two have been inseparable lately, they even sat beside each other at the American Music Awards.
“I know you’re having an awesome time, and I love you, and you’re amazing. You have a lot of people that love you, so happy birthday!” Selena says.
Watch the sweet video below.
Our beloved Taylor Swift turns 22 today! It felt like it was just yesterday when she was getting off that schoolbus for her first day of kindergarten. It felt like it was just yesterday she was singing about John Mayer and his douchey, heartbreaking ways.
Taylor tweeted to let her 9 million followers know how she’s feeling on this special day.
If you ask me, 22 is the perfect age to be. You’re old enough to drink anywhere in the world, you’re old enough to live on your own (unless you play WoW), you’re old enough to date around without getting serious and without getting called a “ho”.
We know Taylor loves cats probably just as much as music. MTV even dedicated a funny photo gallery of cats for the birthday girl. So, here at andPOP, we gathered some of the best cat videos for Taylor to enjoy on her special day.
Yoga Cat
Taylor, you must keep that body of yours lean somehow. I’m pretty sure you do yoga. Now that you’ve got your own precious feline, Meredith, you may want to use her as a yoga buddy, like this cat here.
Overly Excited Cat
Taylor, do you ever go home from a successful award show, asking yourself what kind of a reaction face you made when your name was called? Just take a look at this video, it’s basically you in cat form!
Cat GIFS

If an entire article about cat gifs are more up your alley, Taylor, you might want to take a moment or two and head over to this Buzzfeed page. It’s coated with a ton of cute cats that get into all kinds of silliness.
Happy birthday, Taylor Swift!
Fresh off a visit from the hair salon, Taylor Swift shows off her new ‘do to her 9 million Twitter fans.
She posted a photo yesterday, showing off her gorgeous locks while posing next to her friend.
What do you think of her new bangs?
Her newest video for “Ours” is set to premiere on t.v. and the internet tonight. Unfotunately, I’m guessing this recent ‘do is post video production.
