We basically had a slumber party convo with Princess Taylor Swift last night when she hosted a live web chat with the world on YouTube. She told us about a week ago that she had MAJOR news and she didn’t disappoint. Swift revealed that she has a new album coming out on Oct. 22 called Red and a new single called “We Are Never Ever Getting Back Together.” She also unveiled her new album cover (above).
Although Swift is so young, she’s also like an oh-so-wise Yoda when it comes to relationships. She said about the songs on the album: “They’re all pretty much about the kind of tumultuous crazy, insane, intense, semi-toxic relationships that I’ve experienced in the last two years. And all those emotions, spanning from intense love, intense frustration, jealousy, confusion, all of that, in my mind all of those emotions are red. There’s nothing in between — there’s nothing beige about those feelings.
She hosted the live chat from Nashville in front of fans from across the world. The album will have 16 songs, including the title track. It also features collabs with several artists and songwriters, including Ed Sheeran. Apparently Swift and Sheeran wrote the song while sitting on a trampoline.
She played “We Are Never Ever Getting Back Together” during the chat and joked “it’s a really romantic song that’s to my lovely ex-boyfriend.”

As we already mentioned, Taylor Swift is doing a live chat tonight (Aug. 13) at 7 pm EST, where she’ll revealing some very big news. While we speculate it might be something like “Yes, I AM a princess” it will more likely be about a new project, whether it’s a fragrance or album, which is still amazing.

Olympic gymnast McKayla Maroney has a lot to be proud of these days. Along with being the 2011 World Vault Champion she won a gold AND silver medal at the Olympics. However, Maroney didn’t look all that impressed at the medal ceremony for women’s vault after she fell during her second performance.

I’ve already deducted through days of research that Taylor Swift is most certainly a princess. I don’t have time to go into it now because there are SO MANY REASONS (read about them here) and also because I have a responsibility to tell the world she’s hosting a live chat on Monday, to answer your questions and to share some supposedly big news.
Guys, I don’t want to ruin anything, but I’m like 90 percent sure she’s going to tell us that she was born a princess and has to brush off sparkle dust every morning so we don’t figure it out. Busted!

Why we’re obsessed: We finally found the perfect Taylor Swift cover performed by Jayesslee, the insane twin duo from Australia. I’m OBSESSED with anything and everything Taylor Swift, but they really capture the depth of emotion in this track, which is off the The Hunger Games soundtrack.
This acoustic version has a similar rhythmical pattern to the original, but the blended harmonies from both Janice and Sonia make it eerie. Both ladies have super soft and effortless vocals, but together they gives me chills. So far this video has hit over 620,000 views in less than a week, I’m guessing I’m not the only one completely and happily haunted by it.
Background: Jayesslee’s Janice and Sonia have been around YouTube since 2008, uploading various covers and originals, in English and/or Korean. Sonia usually strums the guitar, but both share the spotlight with their killer vocals and harmonies!

Taylor Swift, purveyor of rainbows with a voice like a harp, has been walking among us mere mortals since 2006 ever since she released her debut studio album. Since then, it’s become evident to myself and rest of the Internet that Swift isn’t just a pop country singer. She is a princess.
Hear me out:
1. She’s dating American royalty
Swift has been linked to various douches (from John Mayer to Joe Jonas) but that was clearly a front to throw us off. Now she’s rumoured to be dating a Kennedy, which basically means she’s with the bees knees of American royalty. She and Robert F. Kennedy’s grandson Conor Kennedy have been cozying up together in Hyannis Port, Mass, going sailing and eating at a local pizzeria. If that’s not enough, I’m pretty sure you can see the faint hint of glitter burst from the soles of Taylor’s feet in the photos of her and Prince Charming.
2. She can talk to animals
Taylor enlightened us a few months ago when she revealed her unique skill of jabbering with fairytale creatures, namely her fluffy feline Meredith. When it came to last night’s Teen Choice Awards, there were no glaring sartorial errors. If I had one complaint it’s that some of the styles were a little safe and boring. We saw tons of classic silhouettes and brights colours walking down the pink carpet.
Taylor Swift (above) was the big winner of the night, snatching her 20th trophy, which is the most won by a female artist EVER. Last night she won five awards: choice female artist, female country artist, single by a female artist for “Eyes Open,” country song for “Sparks Fly” and choice movie voice for “Dr. Seuss’ The Lorax.” WOA. She wins as one of my favourite stylistas of the night, opting for a white dress by Maria Lucia Hohan. The back was beautifully cut and I love the sheer straps.

Ellen Degeneres has knocked out nine (count ‘em) NINE seasons of her talk show, which means she’s onto her EPIC tenth anniversary. For her upcoming season, Ellen conveniently called up her famous buddies to promote her show, including Justin Bieber, Nicki Minaj, Jennifer Aniston, Carrie Underwood and Steve Carell.
Ellen was a little demanding with some of her promos, including one with country singer Taylor Swift, who she urged to stay silent for the entirety of the clip. Whenever Taylor speaks Ellen is all “shhh.” But that’s okay because Tay has a GORG smile anyway, even if it’s a tad awkward here.
In the promo with Nicki Minaj she says Ellen has that “boom badoom boom, boom badoom boom bass, she’s got that super bass,” which we all knew anyway but it never hurts to get confirmation from the girl herself. [Source]

One of the worst best parts of reading celebrity gossip rags is that they justify your seemingly banal life by providing photo evidence of celebrity GODS (in their books) doing the exact same thing you did just a couple days ago. The best part is that they feature the photos non-ironically, as though they actually believe celebrities are a different species, to be studied from an anthropological perspective. ”Hey look!” they say. “Alexander Skarsgard also uses grocery baskets to store his eggs and Hamburger Helper. Gosh, here I though I was the only one. What a relief”

I heart you.” I’m pretty sure I have this exact same photo in much less spectacular places, including my local dog-friendly park and in front of the fireplace for a family Christmas card. Note that Jelena resorted to the awkward “I don’t know what to do with my hands, screw it I’ll just do the peace sign” pose, JUST LIKE YOU. What a relief.

Brunettes now have something over blondes, redheads and raven-haired girls of the world. They have Taylor Swift. Apparently a subtly darker hair colour is trend-worthy news, especially with someone like Princess Tay who everyone obvs wants to be twinsies with. Not that brunettes are keeping score or anything…
Okay, so it’s clearly not the most earth-shattering news but the hair colour looks pretty debonair on Swift, who revealed it for CoverGirl’s “See You, Be You” campaign. During the photo shoot she showed off a bunch of looks, including farm chic, glam and rocker rebel.
Swift, princess of sparkles and cat photographer, was also revealed as one of the highest paid stars under 30. So she can basically rock a rainbow mullet with a fascinator if she really wanted.

Taylor Swift and B.o.B’s new video for “Both of Us” captures them in a sweaty, southern paradise, portraying all aspects of humanity.
“This is bigger than just B.o.B and Taylor Swift, this is about all walks of life,” says B.o.B.
While the video certainly looks airy and romantic Swift and B.o.B describe how sweltering the set actually is and how they basically save each other’s LIVES when monstrous fuzzy spiders and mosquitoes attack (shudder).
Meanwhile, Taylor pretty much captivates the entire crew as they film her playing with cute dogs, while a grown man softly blows dandelion seeds into the wind. I’m loving her style in this video which is a mesh of breezy country skirts with vintage tops.

Well actually they just hang out and play fetch. But that’s still pretty cool because Meredith is a cat after all, and not a dog. Taylor loaded this Viddy up today so we could all marvel at her cat’s superb dogness. Taylor Swift’s life is pretty much perfect. She’s the type of girl who has celebrity dress-up parties in honour of Shirley MacLaine’s birthday and lectures her Scottish Fold cat Meredith all about ACM voting regulations.
She also chills with Brit singer Ed Sheeran on her kitchen floor and sings with him while he plucks a few strings on the guitar. The duo sang his hit single “Lego House,” leading a lot of people who were already excited about them collaborating on material to LOSE THEIR MINDS.
Ed is penning songs for Taylor’s forthcoming album and based on their harmonies we know their singer/songwriter relationship will be freaking awesome.

John Mayer recently told Rolling Stone Magazine that he was humiliated by the song Taylor Swift wrote about him. “It made me feel terrible. Because I didn’t deserve it. I’m pretty good at taking accountability now, and I never did anything to deserve that. It was a really lousy thing for her to do,” he said.
Swift and Mayer were romantically linked before the song’s release and then came her not so subtly named song “Dear John. “The little number goes something like this: “Dear John, I see it all now it was wrong/ Don’t you think nineteen’s too young/ To be played by your dark, twisted games/ When I loved you so, I should’ve known.”
Mayer said he never had any indication of her feelings: ”I never got an e-mail. I never got a phone call. I was really caught off-guard, and it really humiliated me at a time when I’d already been dressed down. I mean, how would you feel if, at the lowest you’ve ever been, someone kicked you even lower?’ When asked about the song’s line, ‘Don’t you think I was too young to be messed with?’ He said: ‘I don’t want to go into that.’”
John also attacked the song: “‘I will say as a songwriter that I think it’s kind of cheap songwriting. I know she’s the biggest thing in the world, and I’m not trying to sink anybody’s ship, but I think it’s abusing your talent to rub your hands together and go, ‘Wait till he gets a load of this!’ That’s bullshit.’”
And our feelings? The f*ck we give. While I agree the song could have stood to be more discreet (maybe Dear Tom instead?) it’s not the first time Mayer has been called out for his douchbaggery behaviour in relationships. If John is tired of talking about the Taylor Swift drama, then he should stop talking about it.

With the success of movies such as My Week With Marilyn, it is no surprise that biopic rumours are spreading fast in Hollywood. But which ones are true and which ones are false? It’s time to play my favorite game Fact or Fiction!
1) Harry Styles to star in a flick about Mick Jagger? 
Though Harry’s publicist hasn’t confirmed whether he’ll be staring in this flick it has been confirmed that a film about Mick Jagger is in the works. It’ll be called Exile On Main St. in honour of the Rolling stones’ tenth album. The movie will revolve around the Rolling Stones’ frontman and guitarist Keith Richards and will be produced by Richard Branson.
2) Taylor Swift stars in a movie about Joni Mitchell? 
The rumours are true! Taylor Swift has been in talks with Sony for months but still hasn’t been officially ask to play the role. I guess only time will tell. The movie will be based on Sheila Weller’s book Girls Like Us, a biography of Joni Mitchell, Carole King and Carly Simon. The crew will consist of Katie Jacobs’s (director), John Sayles (scriptwriter) and and Lorenzo di Bonaventura (producer). Along with Taylor, Alison Pill auditioned to play King. Though the Sony pic hasn’t received the green light yet, it’s set to start production later this year.
3) Zooey Deschanel as Loretta Lynn?
This is a fact! However, it’s not a movie. Zooey Deschanel will be playing Loretta Lynn in a new musical stage show based on the country star’s life story. The 80-year-old singer has been working on a Broadway show based on her 1976 autobiography Coal Miner’s Daughter for a while now. Lynn specifically chose Deschanel as the star and her warm feelings are mutual as Deschanel called Lynn her hero.

With mashups becoming increasingly easier for the average music lover to create at home, authentic collaborations between artists are becoming more exciting. But alas, some of my fave potential collaborations are but a distant dream. So, if anyone out there can hook up the following artists together and convince them to make sweet musical love, I (not to mention my my ears) will be forever grateful. Without further ado, here are the top five unlikely musical collaborations we’d love to hear.
1) Selena Gomez / Azealia Banks
I’m convinced Selena Gomez has a hip-hop freak hiding underneath her pretty persona. With boyfriend Jusin Beiber’s recent foray into the R&B/hip-hop scene, Gomez could learn a thing or two from up and coming female rapper Azealia Banks. Both women are chameleons, with Banks sampling pretty much every genre possible in her music and Gomez pulling off every look possible in her “Love You Like a Love Song” video. Banks and Gomez could have a sassy hit together.
2) Taylor Swift / Florence and the Machine
Okay, Florence Welch is on a level of her own, creatively and vocally, but if any pop star can come close to keeping up with Welch’s powerful pipes, it’s T-Swizzle. The girl has proved herself, winning six Grammies in her career, and actually has instrumental talent, unlike many of her counterparts in the pop and country scene. Swift could back Flo with a piano or guitar and lend her sweet voice. The two women could create something magical. No really.

I’d say my worst class photo is from grade two, when I made the regretful decision to chop off my hair in a short mushroom cut that wasn’t too different from Bam Bam in The Flintstones. Needless to say, it wasn’t a favourite look on the playground that year. Luckily, I can now look at that gap-toothed photo of myself and laugh.
It’s also why I love these awkward celebrity yearbook photos, which show how celebrities have evolved from their Wonder Years. Consider adorable Taylor Swift, above, who’s almost unrecognizable, save the eyes.
Surprisingly, most of them look relatively unchanged, despite some extra baby fat, different hair or braces. I’d say the least unchanged award goes to Snooki and the most changed award goes to Taylor or Vanessa Hudgens. What do you think?

If there’s such a thing as being TOO adorable, Taylor Swift’s cat Meredith fits the description. We’re already familiar with some of her cutest moments, like when Taylor patiently explained the ACM voting process to her in a video. In this photo, which Taylor posted on Twitter, she explains: “Meredith in various displays of bad posture. This is happening a lot lately.”
Tay’s Instagram is quickly becoming one of my faves. Think of the time she posted a photo of herself as a lioness at a circus-themed party with Dianna Agron or baking cupcakes with Selena Gomez. Sure, they’re just lighthearted Instagram photos but at least we can count on her for some good old, PG fun.
