Taylor Swift dropped the second single off her upcoming album Red called “Begin Again” and it’s an ode to love — maybe Conor Kennedy? Swift regales us with tales of her brand new beau, who continually surprises her by appreciating her awesome sense of humor (why would he?) and being all gentlemanly.
We also hear even more details about her horrendous ex-boyfriend, who didn’t think she was funny and hated when she wore high heels. (Obligatory speculation: Taylor Lautner??) Whoever it’s about, it’s a damn good track that we should appreciate without putting any faces on.
Anyway, the song is melodic and has that country twang we missed. It’s the perfect balance to the upbeat “We Are Never Ever Getting Back Together.” The track quickly shot to number one on iTunes.

You wouldn’t think the two songs would complement each other, but this mashup featuring Taylor Swift’s “We Are Never Ever Getting Back Together” and Kanye West’s “Homecoming” (ft. Coldplay’s Chris Martin) is addictive. I love the chripy beat of Swift’s pop song mixed with the edgier rap lyrics by Kanye West.
While we know a collaboration would probably never happen (can Taylor forget the past?) we sure as hell wish it would. ”We Are Never Ever Coming Home Again” was mashed together by NOxPETSxALLOWED, who has previously done mashup battles between Drake and T-Swift, and Rihanna and Skrillex.

Justin Bieber’s mom Pattie Mallette went on The Ellen Show and gushed about her son’s girlfriend Selena Gomez. Naturally, she loves the girl, which isn’t surprising considering you can’t find a much more adorable girlfriend than a dimple-cheeked Disney star who bakes cupcakes with Taylor Swift. She would absolutely destroy a Meet the Parents-style dinner, in a good way.
After sharing her feelings about Gomez, Ellen presented her with a special gift. When Justin was born, Mallette took a vow to not have sex until she was married. And since she wouldn’t date until Bieber turned 18, she was off the market until recently.
Ellen just couldn’t understand how she went so long without getting some action and thoughtfully presented Mallette with a Match.com six month gift certificate. That means our next mission is to sign up for Match.com and find Mallette. She’s a catch!

I hate to say it, but last night was one of the most boring red carpets I’ve seen in a while. I always look forward to the VMAs because the younger generation of celebs either go all out in unconventional styles (it’s where Lady Gaga wore her smelly meat dress) or theyat leastkeep it fun and simple. It’s a lot more down to Earth than the more snobby arenas.
Last night we saw a lot of white and black gowns and while everyone looked okay, nobody really stood out in that “ZOMG I can’t believe she wore that” or “get my pocketbook Jinx I’m buying that dress now” sort of way. Nicki Minaj (above) wore a lace cat suit with sequin detailing that was way out there in a WTF-way, but other than that it was pretty tame.

Emma Watson picked up a lot of slack for her contrasting Peter Pilotto orange top and graphic skirt, however, it was one of my fave looks of the night. She looked youthful and fun, especially next to all the boring black and white most of the other celebs wore on the carpet. While some people claimed she looked half her age, you have to remember, she’s only 22!! She can still go there…

What she’s wearing: T-Swift was spotted in NYC in mustard short shorts, a yellow and navy letterman jacket, wayfarer sunglasses, and her guitar.
Why we love it: If the singer wasn’t 22 you would have thought she was heading back to high school in this look. Even if she was going to hit the books, she’d be looking cute doing so. The mustard yellow is a hot fall colour, but the short shorts and the sunglasses still scream summer! Also you can’t go wrong with a guitar, one of the coolest accessories one could possibly have. Just make sure you know how to play it.
Takeaway: The letterman jacket is a hot item for guys — so ladies don’t be afraid to shop in the men’s section and find one for yourself. (Really you should always take a stroll in the men’s section to snag some unique items.) Who needs a boyfriend to lend you theirs when you can be an independent women and pay for one your own? Can I get an amen!

What she’s wearing: The Canadian pop singer was snapped in colourful printed pants and a white blouse on her way to an interview in London, England.
Why we love it: Abstract graphic prints have been a huge trend for the past year, but we hardly see them in pant form. Jepsen‘s pants make a bold statement and are a nice change from jeans and coloured denim/pants we usually see. Her loose, white blouse provides contrast to the bold pants and contrasts the slim cut of the pants.
Takeaway: Pair printed pants with a neutral/solid top to add balance. If printed pants aren’t available, printed leggings are another option to consider.

Somewhere on my list of life goals (probably between making my parents proud and signing a marriage certificate with Ryan Gosling) is to have a tea party with Taylor Swift and her Scottish Fold cat Meredith. Swift seems like the ultimate BFF, not only because she’s so energetic and has a quirky fashion sense, but she also wrote the ultimate breakup anthem.
Now we get the visuals for “We Are Never Ever Getting Back Together” and I’m so happy she’s turning what’s usually a sad time into a regular hootenanny dance party. Never again will your friend have to be like “dude, you’re better off without him — let’s eat ice cream.” Now they can just gaze at you wisely and advise “listen to Taylor honey.”
The best parts of the video involve Taylor dancing with her bandmates, who all wear animal costumes, and Swift throwing Mr. Nobody out while wearing hipster glasses.

Now, I’m all for fangirling and fanboying for your favourite celebrity. I mean, I sit here all day and happily write love sonnets to Taylor Swift and Beyoncé. BUT when it comes to obsessing over a celebrity there’s a fine balance between what’s appropriate fan behaviour and what’s just stalkerish.
Case in point: madame nickjonas, who is such a massive “fan” of Nick Jonas that he/she detests anyone who has ever met him. Madam Nick Jonas uploaded a video to YouTube in which they’ve crossed out the faces of fans and celebrities who have been near him. MNJ writes in stanzas: “Fans of nick/ stop taking picture with him/ talk to him touch him/ if you go die/ it is that has me/ you have for that?/ nick is mine mine mine mine mine.”
In their message they specifically call out Demi Lovato for hugging him. Get a life and have some respect!!

Those crazy kids from 4chan and Reddit are at it again, this time attempting to send country singer Taylor Swift to a school of the deaf. Swift ran a contest with textbook rental company Chegg and pizza-maker Papa John’s to decide where she should play a free promotional concert.
4chan was slowly coming off the high of trying to give a dirty name to Mountain Dew’s new soda and Reddit was still mildly tickled by their success of exiling Pitbull to Alaska. The Internet trolls thought it would inspire total lolz to send the “We Are Never Ever Getting Back Together” singer to Horace Mann School for the Deaf, in Massachusetts.
According to the rules of the contest, any “accredited high school or college in the contiguous United States that is in the Chegg database” is eligible to win — so it could happen. And why wouldn’t it?
While some of the students might take offense to being part of this silly 4chan prank, they’d still get to meet Taylor Swift. Deaf or not, you can still cultivate an appreciation for music. Plus, the top five schools that receive the most votes will each receive a $10,000 grant for their music department.
Ever since Taylor Swift said her new song “We Are Never Ever Getting Back Together” is about an ex-boyfriend we’ve all been feverishly placing bets on who it’s about. Usually the guesses are on ex-boyfriends like John Mayer, Joe Jonas, Taylor Lautner or Jake Gyllenhaal. But the host of the 2012 VMAs is convinced it’s about him.
In a new promo for the awards show, Kevin Hart accuses T-Swift of airing their dirty laundry in her new song. Thing is, they’ve never ever dated. And they only met one time two years ago.
We don’t really blame Hart. Everyone is pretty much T-Swift’s BFF (best friend forever or boyfriend forever) in their head. But this might make things a tad awkward at the VMAs, no?

Why we’re obsessed: This acoustic version of T-Swift’s new single by The Fergies is catchy with a sweet tone at the bridge. Kahlia’s soft and high-pitched vocals add a certain flare to the hit and her brother Daniel lets her voice shining by playing a simple melody on the guitar. It’s a slightly more mellow attempt at calling out an ex.
The Fergies’ cover is one of the more unique covers I’ve seen. So far, it’s received over 37,000 views in just one week.
Background: The Fergies are a pop band composed of five siblings with the last name Ferguson from Brisbane, Australia. They’ve been uploading covers and originals to their YouTube page since 2010. While their videos and songs don’t always include every sibling, they seem to be really popular in their native country.

Ed Sheeran used Instagram as a weapon yesterday when he tweeted this adorable photo oh him with Taylor Swift all like: “Hey, look at us hanging out. SORRY you can’t hear our collaboration until Oct. 22!”
The two have been working on a duet for her forthcoming album Red. He tweeted the photo with the comment: ”Duet coming soon….” Their tortuous tweet comes just after sharing a video of them singing his song “Lego House.”

Taylor Swift and Pinterest are basically the two main factors that raise the expectations of young people today. Over the past two days, Taylor Swift has made us all look within and consider our lives as a whole. Let me count the ways that Taylor has raised our expectations:
1. She just released an awesome new breakup anthem called “We Are Never Getting Back Together” and announced that her new album Red is coming out on Oct. 22.
2. She is dating a Kennedy. Swift’s budding romance with 18-year-old Conor Kennedy has been going on for months now, though they really blew up after being spotted at the so-called Kennedy Compound over the July 4th weekend. She’s also buddy buddy with his grandmother Ethel.
3. The newest news is that Taylor bought a house — nay, mansion — that’s mere feet away from the Kennedy Compound in Hyannis Port MA, on Cape Cod. According to People, Swift spent $4.9 million for a 13-bedroom home. Steal of a deal.
This is possible for anyone to do, right? Oh, no? Drat.

We basically had a slumber party convo with Princess Taylor Swift last night when she hosted a live web chat with the world on YouTube. She told us about a week ago that she had MAJOR news and she didn’t disappoint. Swift revealed that she has a new album coming out on Oct. 22 called Red and a new single called “We Are Never Ever Getting Back Together.” She also unveiled her new album cover (above).
Although Swift is so young, she’s also like an oh-so-wise Yoda when it comes to relationships. She said about the songs on the album: “They’re all pretty much about the kind of tumultuous crazy, insane, intense, semi-toxic relationships that I’ve experienced in the last two years. And all those emotions, spanning from intense love, intense frustration, jealousy, confusion, all of that, in my mind all of those emotions are red. There’s nothing in between — there’s nothing beige about those feelings.
She hosted the live chat from Nashville in front of fans from across the world. The album will have 16 songs, including the title track. It also features collabs with several artists and songwriters, including Ed Sheeran. Apparently Swift and Sheeran wrote the song while sitting on a trampoline.
She played “We Are Never Ever Getting Back Together” during the chat and joked “it’s a really romantic song that’s to my lovely ex-boyfriend.”
Who do you think it’s about?
As we already mentioned, Taylor Swift is doing a live chat tonight (Aug. 13) at 7 pm EST, where she’ll revealing some very big news. While we speculate it might be something like “Yes, I AM a princess” it will more likely be about a new project, whether it’s a fragrance or album, which is still amazing.
