After the suicide of 14 year old Jamey Rodemeyer over the weekend, Lady Gaga wants to meet with President Obama to make bullying a hate crime.

In a video, Rodemeyer cited Gaga as an inspiration, saying, “She makes me so happy. She lets me know that I was born this way. And that’s my advice to you from her: You were born this way. All you have to do is hold your head up and you’ll go far.”

Gaga tweeted, ”The past days I’ve spent reflecting, crying, and yelling,” she tweeted. “I have so much anger. It is hard to feel love when cruelty takes someone’s life.” She went further, posting Rodemeyer’s “Better” video, and insisting that bullying “must become illegal. It is a hate crime.”

The Huffington Post reports that during a screening of his film “Runaway” on Monday in Los Angeles, Kanye West revealed that he has considered suicide in the past.

Describing himself as a pop icon and “soldier for culture,” West told the crowd “there were times that I contemplated suicide.” However, he said, “I will not give up on life again.”

“There’s so many people that will never get the chance to have their voice heard” as loudly as his, West said Monday. “I do it for them.”

“Runaway,” which West is the director of the abstract 35-minute film, features portions of nine new West songs, with bold and beautiful visuals. The film will premiere this weekend on MTV, VH1, and BET.

TMZ is reporting that rapper T.I. had his probation revoked Friday by a federal judge and subsequently sentenced to an 11-month stint in jail.

The popular rapper had been put on probation as a result of a 2009 federal gun possession conviction, and then was arrested again last month for felony possession of a controlled substance.

This news comes just two days after T.I. talked a man from jumping off of a 22-storey building.  According to TMZ, one of the officers that was involved in that case testified on behalf of T.I.

Comedian Greg Giraldo was hospitalized yesterday for an overdose but it was not a suicide attempt, reports TMZ.

The comedian known for his “Celebrity Roast” appearances was taken to a hospital in New Brunswick, NJ after being found by a friend. He apparently overdosed on prespcritpion medication.

He remains in hospital in stable condition.

Two weeks after being hospitalized for overdosing on aspirin and a sleep aid, the “American Idol” winner is speaking out, saying she wanted to die.

“I didn’t have any fight in me. I didn’t care about anything. I just wanted out,” the American Idolwinner, 26, tells VH1 in a newBehind the Music interview, airing 9 p.m. ET/PT Tuesday, the same day her new album, Back to Me, is released. “At that moment, I wanted out. I wanted it to be over with – all of it, all of that [expletive].”

She continues: “I just sat in the closet and looked at the mirror and took all the pills in the bottle. I wanted to go to sleep and just be at peace. I knew exactly what I was doing. You can’t accidentally take a whole bottle of pills.”

What made the successful singer, who’s preparing to release her third album, want to end her life? “I was tired of people doing me wrong, constantly, over and over again, dealing with my family – my father, dealing with men and their [expletive] – I was tired,” she says. “My head was hurting me. I was over it.”

Swell Season played a show at the Saratoga Mountain Winery in California Thursday night and everyone in attendance witnessed a man commit suicide right in front of them, reports Billboard.

During a break between songs, as band member Glen Hansard was talking to the crowd, a man leaped from the top of the winery building and landed on the stage.

An audience member told the San Jose Mercury News, “I saw him standing there on the edge of the roof, I thought it was a part of the act, and then he took off running and jumped, did a couple of flips and landed on the stage,” continuing, “It was pretty traumatic.”

“The band, crew and all involved with them are shocked and saddened by the unfortunate events of last night,” reads a statement the band released to the press. “Their hearts go out to the victim and his friends and family.”

As was apparent when the doctors in attendance failed to resuscitate the man, he died as a result of the fall.

Shawn King, Larry King’s wife, recently had a failed suicide attempt, reports TMZ.

Shawn left a hand written note explaining that she OD’d on purpose and also leaving instructions where she wanted to be buried.

Her father called 911 on May 28 at the King’s home in Utah telling 911 that his daughter was not waking up or responding.

Emergency workers found several empty prescription bottles — among them, Ambien and anti-anxiety meds.

Larry King has said publicly that their marriage is still intact.

Peter Lopez, husband to actress Catherine Bach of “The Dukes of Hazzard” fame was found dead late Friday morning in Encino, Calif. E! Online reports.

Paramedics reached the home of Bach and Lopez, responding to a possible shooting report.

LAPD spokesperson Lt. John Romero comments, “We’re still in the early stages of the investigation, but what we gather is it’s an apparent suicide.” reports E! Online.

Lopez was a music attorney who at one point represented Michael Jackson.

Bach and Lopez were married in 1990 and have two children together.

Another use for Twitter has been found – suicide prevention. That’s what Demi Moore and Nia Vardalos discovered after seeing a disturbing tweet from a Florida man.

The tweet from the Casselberry, FLA man said he was going to hang himself. Moore responded to the post asking “R U rlly asking 4 help?” The man sent several more messages to Moore.

Following that the Seminole Country Sheriff received phone calls from the West Coast, one of them being “My Big Fat Greek Wedding” star Nia Vardalos.

“Please call 1 800 SUICIDE . I’m on the phone with them right now. They are waiting to talk to you,” Vardalos wrote to the man.

She offered an update later saying “Just spoke to FL police again, they’re with [him] now. He is ok, it’s not a hoax. Thank u all for sending love,” she said. “I called suicide line, connected to FL police, I gave his name+city. They went to home, helped him.”

The man was taken to hospital by local police.

Last night, Marie Osmond stepped back on stage for the first time since the tragic death of her son, reports TMZ.

At her Las Vegas performance, Osmond spoke to the audience about her recent loss.

“The way Osmonds survive is we keep singing and that’s what we want to do tonight … I know my son would want that. He was full of love and laughter and this show is for him, ” said an emotional Osmond.

The ’90′s singing sensation stayed grounded for most of the concert. That is, until her brother Donny Osmond closed the show with the line, “May God keep you in his tender care.”

Osmond’s son Michael Bryan, 18, took his own life on February 26, 2010. The funeral for Bryan was held on Monday.

Multi-talented artist Mark Linkous took his own life on Saturday (March 6), Rolling Stone Magazine reports. Linkous, best known for his work with Sparklehorse and its collaboration with Danger Mouse, was 47-years-old when he shot himself in the heart outside a friend’s house in Knoxville, Tennessee. He had relocated there just recently to work on music.

“It is with great sadness that we share the news that our dear friend and family member, Mark Linkous, took his own life today,” a statement from his family read. “We are thankful for his time with us and will hold him forever in our hearts. May his journey be peaceful, happy and free. There’s a heaven and there’s a star for you.”

Strangely enough, this actually is not the first time that the musician has been met with death. In 1996, Linkous actually died for two minutes after he consumed a dangerous combination of Valium and antidepressants while he was on tour in the U.K. He recovered, but not fully – the accident left him crippled. He laid unconscious for 14 hours, cutting off the circulation to his legs. He had a heart attack when medics tried to straighten his leg out, and he had to undergo seven surgeries to save his injured limbs.

In 1999, Linkous told Rolling Stone that “for a while there, I was really scared that when I technically died – which I guess I did for a few minutes – that the part of my brian that allowed me my ability to write songs would be damaged.” Thankfully for him and his fans, this was not the case as Sparklehorse continued to produce music. In fact, Linkous’ manager told Rolling Stone that the singer was nearly finished a new record.

TMZ reports that Marie Osmond’s son, Michael Biosil, left a suicide note for a woman who lived in his apartment building.

Sources tell TMZ that the woman received a text message from Michael Biosil that he left a note for her in his apartment. The woman was let into the apartment by Biosil’s roommate and they found the note. The note explained that the woman was Biosil’s only friend in L.A. and that he was very upset.

After reading the note they heard sirens and saw emergency vehicles on the street. They immediately then figured out what happened.

The search for Growing Pains star Andrew Koenig ended today after he was discovered dead in Vancouver’s Stanley Park.

Koenig, who suffered from depression, reportedly took his own life.

The actor’s father, Walter Koenig, best known for his role as Pavel Chekov on Star Trek, made a public announcement today in a Vancouver press conference.

“We’ve already said what a great guy he was and (what) a good human being. He was obviously in a lot of pain.”

Walter Koenig wrapped up the press conference with a message to people like his son that are affected by depression.

“If you can learn anything from this, it’s that there are people out there who really care. So before you make that final decision, check it out and talk to somebody.”

TMZ is reporting that Tila Tequila believes there is something wrong with the unborn child she claims to be carrying. She further states that she will kill herself if she miscarries.

At 8am this morning, Tequila posted on Twitter “I just woke up in the middle of the night cuz im having these intense sharp pains in my belly.” Minutes after her next post was “Something is definitely wrong. The hospital gave me a list of symptoms & this is one of them.” And if that isn’t enough, she later added “I told my friend I would just kill myself if anything ever happened.”

Fashion designer Alexander McQueen was found dead this morning in his London home.

“At this stage it is inappropriate to comment on this tragic news beyond saying that we are devastated and are sharing a sense of shock and grief with Lee’s family,” said a statement released by his office, referring to him by his real name.

E! news reports that rumors are speculating that Mcqueen’s death could have been a suicide. Additionally Scotland Yard is not treating the death as suspicious.

The designer’s mother recently passed away and McQueen turned to Twitter to share his emotions.

“I’m letting my followers know the my mother passed away yesterday if it she had not me nor would you RIP mumxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxx,” the designer wrote on his since shuttered Twitter account last Wednesday.

“But life must go on!!!!!!!!!!!!”

A few days later, he spoke of his life’s stresses.

“Sunday evening been a f–king awful week but my friends have been great but now I have to some how pull myself together and finish,” he wrote of his forthcoming show at Paris Fashion Week.

Artie Lange, this is not funny! As previously reported on andpop.com (and everywhere else), Artie Lange was hospitalized over the weekend in New Jersey for undisclosed reasons. Details of the hospital stay are now surfacing. TMZ reports that Lange’s publicists explains that Artie Lange was hospitalized due to a suicide attempt in which he stabbed himself nine times. Lange was found by his mother in his Hoboken apartment where the comedian was laying on the ground bleeding. Prior to his hospitalization Lange was mysteriously missing from The Howard Stern Radio Show on Sirius XM.

“We all have our demons,” said Stern, referring to Lange’s past battles with addiction. “Artie has given this show tremendous moments of great comedy. He’s a tremendous contributor. He is a good man. Don’t forget how great he is.”

Amy Winehouse is reportedly on suicide watch after threatening to kill herself with a knife.

According to a British newspaper, Female First, the singer recently held a knife to her chest and said, “What’s the point in living?”

She is distraught after her jailed husband, Blake Fielder-Civil, turned down early parole. Fielder-Civil has also recently sent her father a threatening letter.

“American Idol” judge, Simon Cowell, says he considered committing suicide while in school.

“I hated school and I was always bored. I didn’t like the rules and I didn’t like discipline. So when someone said to me, ‘These are the best days of your life’, I actually thought about jumping off a bridge. I thought, ‘If it gets any worse than this I’m done’ because I hated my life,” New-magazine.co.uk quoted Cowell.

Cowell says that it is important to criticize contestants because experiencing censures in his own life made him strong. “No one gave me any handouts when I started. I had to work my way up. I certainly learnt more when people criticised me than when they lied to me and said what I was doing was right.”

Cowell, who is also known on the hit reality show as “Mr. Nasty,” says that one cannot survive in the music business unless that person knows they have made a mistake. “I would feel guilty about giving people fake hope when I genuinely believe they have no chance.”

Owen Wilson is getting his life back on track, following a suicide attempt in August.

OK! Magazine reports that Wilson will begin filming “Marley and Me” next month in Miami. Co-starring Jennifer Aniston, the film is the adaptation of the memoirs of John Grogan. According to IMdB.com, Wilson and Aniston’s characters will learn “important life lessons from their adorable, but naughty and neurotic dog.”

While healing, Wilson dropped out of the Ben Stiller film “Tropic Thunder,” so his return to work is a good sign that the Butterscotch Stallion is back on his feet.
