The outrageous pop singer joined forces with acclaimed country band Sugarland last night.
Gaga had the opportunity to open and close the Grammy Awards nominations concert, held at the Nokia Theatre in L.A.
The singer sat by the piano, in her typically dark clothes and makeup as the more laid band country duo, Jennifer Nettles and Kristian Bush, played guitar. The three artists on stage sang Gaga’s “You and I”, which already has a bit of country twang to it.
Half way through the song, Gaga yelled “everybody put your drinks up!” to liven up the crowd. Lead singer of Sugarland, Jennifer Nettles looked really happy to be collaborating with an artist so opposite of her. As much as pop suits this mother monster, Lady Gaga could totally have a seperare career in country music if she really wanted to. Trust.

If you’re a country fan, you may have heard when a stage collapsed shortly before country-duo Sugarland were supposed to perform at the Indiana State Fair back in August. The incident killed seven people and injured dozens more.
Now, TMZ reports more than 40 people are suing Sugarland, as well as Live Nation, ESG Security, and the stagehands’ union, for their injuries. The people claim the band could have cancelled the show when they were informed of the bad weather reports.
“Unfortunately, this tragedy could have been prevented if the responsible parties had been concerned about the concertgoers that night,” one of the plaintiff’s attorney, Mario Massillamany, said.
“The injuries I sustained have left me unable to provide for my family,” Lisa Hite, one of the people injured in the collapse, stated. “The financial and emotional strain this has caused has left a lasting impact on my family.”
It will be interesting to see where this story goes once Sugarland’s reps release their retorts in a statement. Needless to say, the story blew my mind when it broke, but to completely blame the country-duo for the disaster is a bit extreme; however, I do see where both sides are coming from.
If you didn’t catch the video when the story broke, watch the stage collapse at the fair below. Note: it is an extremely unpleasant video to watch.
