Twilight Author, Stephenie Meyer will be producing the Jane Austen-inspired Austenland, an adaptation of the Shannon Hale novel according to MTV News.
The movie is about a woman who ruins her love life due to her obsession with Mr. Darcy. She goes to Austenland, which is an Austen-themed resort in England and falls for the actor who plays Mr. Darcy at this resort.
The cast of the film has not been finalized but so far includes Keri Russell, J.J. Field, Bret McKenzie, Jennifer Coolidge, Jane Seymour, Rupert Vansittart and James Callis.
Not only will Meyer be making her debut outside the world of Forks, but newcomer Jerusha Hess will be directing the film.
Meyer says that Twilight is inspired by Austen’s Pride and Prejudice, so much to the point where every so often, Bella’s character in the book compares her relationship with Edward to Elizabeth’s relationship with Mr. Darcy.
Meyer went into producing with the final two movies of the Twilight series, Breaking Dawn, and will also produce the adaptation of her book, The Host.
Looks like Meyer is looking for non-vampire jobs since the finale of the Twilight series that made her millions is quickly approaching.
Breaking Dawn part 1 is set to hit theatres this November but fans will have to wait a full year for the final installment which will be released fall 2012.

Stephenie Meyer, author of the hugely popular book-turned-movie series “Twilight,” was recently being sued over allegations that she stole her beloved vampire ideas from another author. However, as TMZ reports, the judge completely dismissed the idea.
Competing vampire author Jordan Scott claimed that her book, “The Nocturne,” was ripped off by Meyer. The judge slammed Scott, saying that her accusation was “deceptive,” and completely illegitimate.
Scott alleged that the wedding, consummation and birth scenes between Edward and Bella in Meyer’s book “Breaking Dawn” were eerily similar to scenes from “The Nocturne.” But the judge shut down Scott, saying that she had “twice manipulated aspects of the subject works in order to create the appearance of similarity.”
Breaking Dawn, the fourth and final installment of the Twilight series, will shoot right after the third film, Eclipse, according to Perez Hilton. While the second and third films were previously slated to be filmed back-to-back, fans were concerned about no apparent plans for the fourth movie.
Ashley Greene, who plays Alice Cullen in the films, recently revealed in an interview that she would be preparing to shoot the last installment immediately after shooting wrapped on the third movie. “We’re going to start right after Eclipse,” she said.
Filming for Eclipse is planned to begin August 17 of this year, and is expected to wrap around October 31.
When asked about “Twilight” author Stephenie Meyer Sci-fi author Stephen King said she “can’t write,” according to E! Online.
In an interview with USA Weekend, King was asked a question regarding the success of both Meyer and “Harry Potter” author J.K. Rowling and responded with, “The real difference is that Jo Rowling is a terrific writer and Stephanie Meyer can’t write worth a darn. She’s not very good.”
Although King criticized Meyer’s writing, he admitted the “Twilight” author knows how to make her stories compelling. “People are attracted by the stories, by the pace and in the case of Stephenie Meyer, it’s very clear that she’s writing to a whole generation of girls and opening up kind of a safe joining of love and sex in those books,” King said to USA Weekend. “It’s very exciting and it’s thrilling and it’s not particularly threatening because they’re not overtly sexual.”
