Posh Not On Board for Spice Girls Come Back

The Spice GirlsThe Spice Girls are reuniting for a full-scale comeback, reports Perez Hilton, but Victoria Beckham, known to fans as Posh Spice, will not be joining her former bandmates in their efforts, saying she doesn’t have the “time or desire” to resurrect the pop group.

Sources say Melanie Brown, Geri Halliwell, Emma Bunton and Mel C. plan to be on the road in a year’s time.

Bunton is reportedly still not sold on rejoining the group, either. “Emma is being cautious, but the minute she’s with the girls, they’ll talk her ’round,” said a source close to the band.

Spice Girls to End Tour In Toronto

Spice Girls fans around the world will not get the chance to see their favourite girl-power group reunite on stage.

The Girls have cut short their reunion tour and announced they will end off with a scheduled appearance in Toronto on Feb. 26.

The announcement was made via the group’s website and confirmed that they would not be making tour stops in China, South Africa, Australia and Argentina as previously planned.

Known to fans as Baby, Ginger, Posh, Sporty and Scary, the girls are citing “family and personal commitments” as the reason for the shortened tour.
The websites statement also said the high-demand for tickets was part of the decision. The group had thousands of requests and offers to play in countries worldwide since announcing its reunion last June.

“No-one could have predicted just how phenomenal the demand was eventually going to be,” the posting said, CBC Online reports. “Spice fever was well and truly back.”

The news isn’t all that bad for North American and European fans however, as more dates have to added, including four shows in Toronto and 17 in London.

Posh Peaks Worst Dressed List For ‘07

Typically, Posh Spice is heralded for her award-winning style, however this year, the only mention Victoria Beckham received for her look was a negative one.

Mr. Blackwell, famed fashion critic, placed asymmetrically bob-headed Beckham at the tippy top of his 48th annual ‘Worst Dressed in 07′ list.

The critic, who found his footing in the A List fashion world back in 1960 while designing dresses for the wealthy and well-known, roasted some of Tinsel Town’s hottest names while firing out this year’s list.

Some of the other failed fashionistas include ghetto-fab Fergie, singer Kelly Clarkson, Lindsay Lohan and Jessica Simpson.

Although others felt the heat from Blackwell’s flaming lips, Posh evidently got it the worst.

“Forget the fashion spice, wearing a skirt would suffice! In one skinny-mini monstrosity after another, pouty posh can really wreck-em,” he quipped.

However, it wasn’t Posh’s first time at the top, or the bottom (depending on how you look at it). Blackwell selected her band, the Spice Girls, as number one on the same list in 1998, saying that they were “the only spices on the planet that have no taste.”

Spice Girls Add New Canadian Dates

The Spice Girls reunion tour just keeps getting bigger, with the girl-power group adding new shows in Toronto and Montreal to their schedule.

Baby, Posh, Ginger, Scary and Sporty will now stage a show at the Air Canada Centre in Toronto on Feb. 25. Tickets go on sale Saturday.

Other new shows added to meet extra demand include Jan. 31 at Montreal’s Bell Centre, Feb. 16 in Detroit and Feb. 18 in New York. Tickets for those shows are already on sale.

Toronto was named “Spice City” after outvoting cities around the world to secure concert dates. The first sold-out T.O. shows take place on Feb. 3 and 4.

The Spice Girls reunion tour kicked off Dec. 2 in Vancouver. They are in London this weekend to play the O2 arena.

Spice Girls Start Comeback In Vancouver

Girl Power is officially back. The Spice Girls will kick off their highly anticipated reunion tour tonight in Vancouver.

The famous five have been making quite the stir in Van City this weekend as Spice sightings have been frequent and fans are waiting anxiously for the girls to perform together for the first time in almost a decade.

There has been enormous hype surrounding the reunion and everything from wardrobe changes to the 22-song set list have been kept exclusively under wraps.

Victoria “Posh ” Beckham, Emma “Baby ” Bunton, Melanie “Sporty” Chisholm, and Melanie “Scary” Brown and Geri “Ginger” Halliwell officially split in 2001 and have sold more than 55 million albums worldwide.

CTV reports that Spice fans have been hanging out at Vancouver hotspots hoping to catch a glimpse of the British band all weekend.

The girls have been seen shopping at Gucci, and Posh Spice herself was rumoured to be at Holt Renfrew.

Tickets for GM Place show have been selling online for as much as $550.

The only other Canadian appearances are shows in Toronto on Feb. 3 and 4.

Girls Still Set To Spice Up Buenos Aires

Argentina can stop crying for the Spice Girls.

Fans in Buenos Aires encountered quite the scare this weekend when various web sites reported the concert for the group’s reunion world tour had been cancelled.

Reps for the Spice Girls are adamantly denying the internet claims that originated after a fake e-mail was sent to fans saying the British pop stars had nixed the Buenos Aires event.

“The Spice Girls would like to make it clear that they have not cancelled their Buenos Aires show,” a spokesperson for the girls told BBC News, CBC reports.

“The fake e-mail claims that due to the demand so far in the U.K. and the U.S., this show is going to be cancelled. This is not the case and this e-mail is 100 per cent unofficial and has nothing to so with the Spice Girls,” the rep said in a statement.

The girls most widely known as Scary, Sporty, Ginger, Baby and Posh made the announcement this spring that they would be reuniting for an exclusive world tour.

The tour will start on on Dec. 2 in Vancouver.

The Spice Girls To Make Another Stop in Toronto

The Spice Girls have announced a second Toronto show. Just minutes after the phone lines opened, all 19,800 seats of the Air Canada Centre in Toronto had been spoken for. To the dismay of many Spice fans, that meant no Posh, Baby, Scary, Sporty or Ginger.

Alas, never wanting to disappoint, the girls announced a second show to follow the first. The show dates will now be Feb. 3 and Feb. 4 in Toronto.

It seems as though the Girls’ are not opposed to adding shows onto their tour, as the their highly-anticipated performance sold out in just 38 seconds in London. Again, the girls added another tour date in London to accommodate the high demand for tickets.

The Canadian leg of their comeback tour will start in Vancouver before stopping in Toronto.
