Everyone knows Barack Obama is charming and charismatic. What you might not have known is that the POTUS is pretty damn hysterical.
At last night’s White House Correspondents’ dinner, President Obama’s jokes were a hit with the the star studded crowd. He poked fun at everything from Michelle’s bangs, to CNN to the Beyonce/Jay-Z Cuba scandal. Not only should he tell jokes more often, but he should definitely try out that new haircut.
What do you think of Obama’s speech??
Only in America.
After two days of debating helium legislation in the House, Republican Hank Johnson of Georgia had enough. He decided the best way to end the pointless debate was to get up and give a sarcastic speech about the merits of helium – and it could not have been more hilarious.
While his spokesman insisted it was all a joke, let’s not forget this is the man who once expressed concern that increased military presence in Guam would cause the island to capsize. Joking or not, I’m just glad somebody is bringing attention to the fact that there are more important things to be dealt with than whether or not comedians should have the right to use helium in their stand up performances. Plus, his puns were spot on.
The Red Sox played their first home game since the Boston bombing yesterday, and David “Big Papi” Oritz used some choice words while paying tribute to the work of the city’s law enforcement team.
In a speech that struck a chord with many fans, Oritz thanked the mayor, the governor, the police department and everyone else involved in capturing 19-year-old suspect Dzhokhar Tsarnaev. He also declared “this is our f*#!ing city, and nobody’s gonna to dictate our freedom.”
It may not have been the most appropriate language for a baseball game, but after a terrifying manhunt and the tragedy caused by the bombing, I think it was exactly what Bostonians wanted to hear.

Psy got super nostalgic speaking at Oxford University last Wednesday, speaking about how he got his start in music. When he was 15 he saw video footage of Queen at Wembley Stadium singing “Bohemian Rhapsody” and was completely shocked at how it combined rock, opera and ballads. Upon graduating he went to the U.S for school and started making music… admittedly just to meet girls.
The “Gangnam Style” Korean singer made his speech to the 89-year-old Oxford Union Club at the university. He was mobbed by screaming fans when he arrived in Britain from France on Wednesday for his three day visit.
While we’re not sure how Psy relates to the debate society, his inspiring speech will surely motivate them to kick major ass. The best advice he gave? One of the things that sets him apart from his fellow artists is his humorous and accessible dance moves. While most artists implement complex choreography into their routines, people saw Psy’s dance moves and thought “Wow, I can do that!” He also wanted to keep his music and choreography humorous because the world was going through a tough time economically. ”I tried my best to be as ridiculous as possible,” he said.
I think he totally nailed it: People love his music because it makes them feel happy and they love his dance moves in because it feels interactive.

Not everyone was happy after the White House Correspondents’ dinner, after Obama made a series of jokes that — gasp! — weren’t PG!! The president turned into a comedian, joking about drunk texting, the cast of Glee and Kim Kardashian.
On Eating Pitbulls
Obama adressed the outrage over the fact that he ate dog meat as a child.
“What’s the difference between a hockey mom and a pitbull?” Obama asked. “A pitbull is delicious.”
On Kim Kardashian
At the beginning of his speech, while he was still offstage, Obama said: “Seriously, guys, what am I doing here? I’m the president of the United States, and I’m opening for Jimmy Kimmel?…Why am I telling knock-knock jokes to Kim Kardashian? What is she famous for, anyway?” Then he promptly started his speech so he wouldn’t keep the cast of Glee waiting.

Birstol Palin is not getting the love she thought she had. Ms. Palin was initially asked to speak at Washington University in St. Louis, but students have threatened to protest if she shows up, reports TMZ.
The talk was cancelled according to the University “because of the growing controversy among undergraduates over the decision to pay for [Bristol's] talk with student-generated funds.” Bristol who is an advocate to avoid teen pregnancy was supposed to give a brief lecture on abstinence (how ironic).
Anyways, it’s interesting to see Bristol is as hated in some circles as her Mom. Additionally, if Bristol has anywhere the same intelligence and public speaking skills as her Mom, Washington University was just saved from a really dumb speech.
