Matthew Perry is returning to rehab, reports Radar.
The ‘Friends’ star, who has struggled with substance abuse in the past, is making plans to go away to “focus on my sobriety.”
The actor released a statement explaining his situation, saying “I’m making plans to go away for a month to focus on my sobriety and to continue my life in recovery. Please enjoy making fun of me on the world wide web.” Aw, I won’t.
Perry has apparently not relapsed but planned the trip “as a proactive measure.” He has been in rehab twice previously for a prescription pill addiction, once in 1997 and again in 2001.
Good for him for dealing with his issues. Substance abuse is not quickly curable, it’s often a life-long issue, so I’m glad he’s being smart about it and taking the precautions he needs to take.
Rocker Rick Springfield has been arrested on suspicion of drunk driving, TMZ reports.
The 80s rockstar, who was arrested last night in Los Angeles, reportedly performed poorly on sobriety tests after being pulled over by the L.A. County Sheriff’s Department around 8:00 p.m. for a traffic violation.
The 61-year-old singer was then arrested on suspicion of DUI, after the officers noticed the smell of alcohol. Law enforcement sources say Springfield’s blood alcohol level was measured at 0.10 and 0.08, the legal limit being 0.08 in California.
Springfield was taken to a nearby jail, where he was booked then released on his own recognizance.
Another rockstar, another DUI. It’s not known whether or not he has a drinking problem, but driving under the influence is simply inexcusable. Hopefully this is a good wake up call for him.
After several bizarre interviews with Charlie Sheen went viral last week, the star has now jumped on the Twitter bandwagon. Twitter has become one of the most popular social media devices in the last few years, and it seems that celebrities have caught on to the trend with everyone from Roger Ebert to Kim Kardashian tweeting frequently throughout the day.
However, many of the celebrity tweets are rather unexciting to read, but Sheen is an exception. People.com reports that after Sheen joined Twitter on Tuesday night, his number of followers exploded. Over 1,003,00 people-due to increase even more-are now following the Sheenster.
Sheen is apparently planning his comeback and Twitter just might do the trick. Clearly the bad press and hilarious interviews are helping Sheen’s case. Though he is obviously a little out of his mind, his interviews are surprisingly articulate and his tweets are no different.
Sheen’s Twitter tagline: Born Small… Now Huge… Winning… Bring it..! (unemployed winner…)
Tweeted:Face it folks, you just feel better when you say it. #WINNING
Let’s hope Sheen can manage to stay sober and continue bringing unintentional comedy to the public.
Brooke Mueller is committed to her marriage and loves her husband Charlie Sheen, but she wants him to take sobriety seriously, reports TMZ. However, those on Charlie Sheen’s side say that his wife is the real problem.
Brooke has now left rehab and is living at their family home, accompanied by a cadre and therapists. Brooke says she loves Charlie to death. But, Brooke feels that the only way she can remain sober is if Charlie tries his best to get sober, no matter if he fails or not.
Brooke does acknowledge that they both have a huge problem and they might both slip from time to time. She has also been in rehab multiple times, trying her best to get sober.
