Kid Cudi Busted for Smoking at VMAs

Kid Cudi was busted for smoking in the venue at the MTV VMAs last night. Cudi could be seen live on TV lighting up as Lady Gaga went on stage to accept the award for Best Female Video.

Reps at the Nokia Theater quickly approached Cudi and asked him to put out the cigarette. He complied as a rep told TMZ, ”He was asked to put it out and he complied.”

Cudi didn’t get the memo that you can’t smoke in public and enclosed spaces. Nevertheless, it’s still badass….

BoB Talks About Canadian Weed and Airplanes

Russell Peters to Co-host with Charlie Sheen in Toronto dates

Perhaps the show won’t be a bomb after all.

Charlie Sheen has announced via his Twitter account that Russell Peters will be joining him as a co-host for his two Toronto shows scheduled this weekend at Massey Hall.

“Anyone wanna guess who my co-host is for my 2 Toronto shows? 2 tix if you guess right! Hint: he’s one funny mother…. (you’ll love it!),” the former Two and a Half Men star tweeted.

“RUSSELL PETERS IS my co-host and guest for both Toronto shows yes!! We’ll see ya’ at the Meet & Greet!!”

While this is exciting news for Canadians, health officials will be watching the show to ensure the actor doesn’t violate the province’s anti-smoking laws.

In previous performances of his live show “My Violent Torpedo of Truth/Defeat Is Not An Option”, Sheen has lit up cigarettes on stage.

Inspectors will be monitoring Sheen’s shows both on Thursday and Friday, according to Ontario Health Promotion Minister Margarett Best. She also offered the actor smoking cessation help, suggesting that he can call her directly or contact the province’s smokers’ quit line.

Hopefully Sheen obeys this law, as being cut off from funnyman Peters would surely disappoint. With his tour receiving plenty of negative reviews from his performance in Detroit, Sheen certainly needs to win over the Toronto crowd.

So it begins! Miley is now 18 years old and she is going to start acting like a complete moron. For her latest act, she chose to smoke out of a bong on camera – well done!

TMZ who obtained the video says Miley was smoking a legal psychoactive plant called Salvia. She also later confuses some guy in the room for her on/off again boyfriend Liam Hemsworth.

Pregnant Nicole Richie: ‘I Wasn’t Smoking’

Nicole Richie has denied reports by Page Six that she was smoking this weekend in New York. The pregnant Richie apparently wasn’t even in States at the time of the two reported incidents. She is traveling abroad with boyfriend Joel Madden of Good Charlotte. Her rep told “Extra” that the reports were “irresponsible and untrue.” Continue reading →

Studios Asked to Put Smoking Warning on DVDs

Movie studios have been asked to include anti-smoking messages on DVDs, after studies show actors who smoke on the big screen entice youth to light up.

Attorney generals in 32 American states sent the message to Paramount Pictures, Fox Filmed Entertainment, Warner Bros., The Walt Disney Co. and five other studios this week.

“This is consistent with the state’s long-running commitment to reduce underage teen smoking,” said Janelle Guthrie, spokesperson for the Washington State Attorney General Rob McKenna.

A spokeswoman from the Motion Picture Association of America (MPAA) said the studios contacted would consider the request.

“There’s no collective decision at this point,” she said.

Under the study, by Dartmouth Medical School, 6,522 adolescents were asked about their smoking habits. Thirty-eight percent said they first tried smoking after seeing actors lighting up in films. Even if the youth’s family members and friends didn’t smoke, they were likely to try it after watching stars smoke on screen.
