Sling Media Inc. announced last week that the SlingPlayer Mobile for BlackBerry will be available for download as part of a public beta beginning December 30. SlingPlayer Mobile software allows users to watch TV and programming via their handheld device. The BlackBerry Bold 9000, Curve 8900, 8820 and Pearl Flip 8220 will be compatible with the software, as well as other models of the smartphones. SanDisk Corporation announced last week the availability of its 16GB microSDHC and Memory Stick Micro (M2) mobile memory cards. These cards have the world’s largest storage capacity for mobile phones available on the Canadian market.
The fingernail-sized memory cards allow consumers to use the many storage-based features offered by today’s smartphones, such as music ans video playback, digital camera functions, as well as gaming and GPS applications. Consumers can also use the memory card in video cameras, GPS receivers or some MP3 players.
SanDisk’s 16GB microSDHC card will cost $119.99 and the 16GB M2 card will be at $169.99. The 16GB microSDHC cards will be available at Best Buy and Best Buy Mobile stores in December.
