Making it in Hollywood is not easy. From getting your television show pitch rejected to messing up that audition, it’s safe to say that the City of Angels is not a friendly place.
After taking a class about the film and television industry, I have learned that Hollywood loves to recycle ideas. So what’s a better way to get noticed than to recycle already popular TV shows and show it off as something new? That sounds like a formula for success, right?
WRONG. From making an eclectic choice of references from shows like Girls, Breaking Bad, Entourage, Louie and Flight of the Conchords, it appears that Hollywood JUST isn’t buying it. You can’t recycle TV shows that are still on the air!!
Personally, I think they should have went all out and combined all of them together.
So how about this? Two struggling (and awkward, because that’s what Hollywood seems to like these days) screenwriters in Los Angeles who break out into song while selling plant-based narcotics to make some money. Add in British accents, and you’ll be rolling in money in NO TIME.
It seems as though everywhere you look these days, there’s an ad for a new action-superhero movie. We most recently got The Amazing Spiderman and The Dark Knight. (BTW which one did you prefer)?
With all these trilogies going on, people go totally overboard and get really into it; dressing up as Peter Parker or even accessorize with a Batman cape — just to watch the movie in theatres. But if you’re extremely annoyed because your boyfriend rather go watch that instead of the new Nicholas Sparks’ chick-flick, don’t worry. There’s something here to fit your needs. It’s a support group for people who don’t like superhero movies.
Would you argue that Magic Mike is a superhero movie cause Channing Tatum is super-hot?
