MySims Go Undercover

MySims Agents was announced by EA today.

The game, for Wii and Nintendo DS, makes players the heroic agents called upon to stop a plot threatening an entire city.

“It’s mystery-meets-adventure theme allows players to hone their problem-solving skills while still enjoying all of the beloved MySims charm, characters, customization and humour.”

The game will be available in the fall and is yet to be rated.

The Sims Make History

“The Sims” has topped more than 100 million copies in sales to become the biggest-selling PC game franchise of all time.

Since its first installment launched in 2000, the game has been released in 60 countries and 22 languages, and raked in about $4 billion U.S. in sales.

Nancy Smith, who heads Electronic Arts Inc.’s Sims Label, said the game franchise is “truly unique in the world of interactive entertainment because it attracts creative people around the world of all ages and both genders.”

“The Sims” gives players the power to shape the day-to-day lives of virtual characters. Rather than dodging bullets or rocketing down the freeway at 200 km/h, the players deal with routine situations like creating homes, relationships and careers for their characters.

Women make up 60 per cent of the game’s players, a rare figure in the world of video games overwhelmingly aimed at teenage boys and 20-something men.

EA released “The Sims 2″ in 2004 and plan to release “The Sims 3″ sometime next year.

The company has also put out a number of add-on packs and spin-off games.
