Yikes! Looks like being a new mom might have to cost some money for Adele.
According to The Sun, the British songstress (who gave birth to a boy on October 19), missed the 42 day cut-off date to legally register her baby. Neither Adele or her boyfriend Simon Konecki, have made any appointments to register their new son with the British government.
“Cops are hardly going to be banging on their door tomorrow and it’s probably just an oversight on their part,” said a source to the tab.
“Most parents register their baby within a couple of weeks because it’s a nice thing to do – and because there’s a maximum fine of £1,000 (about $1,613) if they don’t. There’s loads of reasons why parents are late and millions of couples don’t bother for ages.”
I can see why Adele probably hasn’t went out of her way to register her baby.
She is a busy woman and has been quite quiet about her pregnancy. And since it is natural for a mother to feel protective, she probably knows that registering the tot will make his name known and risk more details leaking about him.
However, it would be best to get this kind of thing out of the way before warning letters start coming. If the birth hasn’t been recorded within three months, the registrar can be held liable and fined—meaning that the proud parents may have more things to worry about in the future.
But that being said, I’m sure Adele can cover the costs.
Rumour has it that Adele has become a mother.
According to reports from Daily Mirror and Daily Mail, the 24-year-old songstress and her boyfriend Simon Konecki are said to have welcomed their son on Friday.
While there has been no official confirmation from the singer yet, a spokesperson told the Daily Mail, “we are not releasing a statement at this time.”
Adele has been laying low since announcing the pregnancy in June on her official website after weeks of rumours .
At the time she wrote, “I’m delighted to announce that Simon and I are expecting our first child together. I wanted you to hear the news direct from me, obviously we’re over the moon and very excited but please respect our privacy at this precious time. Yours always, Adele xx.”
The multiple Grammy and Brit-award winner started dating after meeting last summer but only confirmed their relationship in January. With rumours that they were married in August, Adele was forced to deny those reports on Twitter by tweeting: ”I’m not married… Zzzzzzz.”
While I totally understand why Adele and Konecki want us to respect their privacy, I would just like to offer my congratulations if the reports are true!! With the new addition to their family, perhaps Adele might find some happy inspiration to write some music??
Rumour has it Adele is going to be a mother.
Announcing Friday that she is expecting her first child with boyfriend Simon Konecki, the singer took to her website to confirm the news.
“I’m delighted to announce that Simon and I are expecting our first child together,” said the Grammy award-winning singer. “I wanted you to hear the news direct from me, obviously we’re over the moon and very excited but please respect our privacy at this precious time.”
Adele, 24, has been dating Simon Konecki, 36, since last summer. Konecki, is a former financier who co-founded the United Kingdom bottled water company, Life Water, which also runs a charity called Drop4Drop that brings clean water to developing countries. Previously married, Konecki divorced his first wife four years ago.
This news is obviously a bit shocking, but I’m so happy for the couple. I’m glad Adele has found happiness and I wish them all the best!
Adele’s music might be in turmoil as she is back in love with a Zack Galifianakis stunt double. Well he’s not technically his stunt double, but they look quite similar.
The Sun reports her new man is Simon Konecki, a 36 year old gentleman who runs a charity called Drop4Drop.
The couple was spotted hanging out in Florida, and they seemed to be very much in love. And here’s hoping Simon is a funny guy. Adele once said, ”If they make me laugh, I’m in the bed.”
