Sheryl Crow Records Holiday Album

Sheryl Crow will offer an advance sprinkling of holiday spirit come September with the release of a Christmas album.

The singer-songwriter worked with producer and long-time collaborator Bill Bottrell to record the collection of holiday songs, which will be released through Hallmark Gold Crown stores.

The album will be the latest in the greeting card chain’s annual series, which previously featured releases from James Taylor, Barry Manilow and George Strait.

Crow told Billboard.com that she had wanted to record a holiday record for some time.

“I love Christmas music; every year we have this ritual after the Christmas Eve service, 40 or 50 people come over the house and we play Christmas music,” she said.

“We pretty much rely on the same Christmas music every year, and every year I’ve said, ‘I’m gonna make some Christmas music of my own.’”

She described the upcoming album as “just gorgeous. It’s kind of a humble record; it’s very sweet and innocent and a little bit of a throwback to maybe the ’60s or ’70s in production. It’s definitely a departure from any Christmas record I’ve ever heard.”

Songs on the as-yet-untitled album include traditional X-mas tunes such as “Oh Holy Night,” “I’ll Be Home For Christmas,” “All Through The Night” and “White Christmas.”

The album also features an original track penned by Bottrell titled “Hello, Friend,” which Crow says “is about people coming back together at Christmas, which I think is really poignant.”

Crow is currently doing the festival circuit in Europe and will return to North America to tour with James Blunt beginning July 24.

Sheryl Crow To Work With Fleetwood Mac

Fleetwood Mac haven’t toured since 2004, but the next time fans see them they may have a big name in tow: Sheryl Crow.

Crow told website Spinner.com, “I don’t want to make any official announcements, but I will say that we definitely have plans for collaborating in the future, and we’ll see what happens.”

Fleetwood Mac, which formed in 1967, have seen numerous line-up changes throughout the years. The band found its greatest success in the late 1970s following the addition of members Stevie Nicks and Lindsey Buckingham.

Crow is friends with Nicks, and the two have also wrote and produced together.

“I think the person I learned the most hands-on from is Stevie Nicks because she allowed me not only to co-write with her but also to produce her, and she’s a true artist,” Crow said.

Crow had a hand in several songs on Nicks’ 2001 album, “Trouble In Shangri-La.”

The singer didn’t have a firm date for her Fleetwod Mac collaboration, but said it could be sometime next year.

She also said she’d love to perform “The Chain” and “Second Hand News” with the band.

Sheryl Crow Moves On, and Makes A Record While Doing So

All she ever wanted to do is have some fun, but these last few years have been anything but for singer and song writer Sheryl Crow.

But, when life gives Sheryl lemons, she either makes lemonade – or a killer record.

Crow has announced that she will be ready to release her album, entitled “Detours”, on Feb. 5.

As it turns out, “Detours” is a fitting name for the singer’s latest album, as she was forced to make many during the past few years. Only weeks after her devastating split with long-time boyfriend Lance Armstrong in 2006, Crow was diagnosed with breast cancer. After a number of surgeries, the singer successfully recovered from the disease. Then, after spending just over a year alone, the singer adopted a son whom she named Wyatt.

Shortly thereafter, Crow got word that the GirlFrenzy festival that she was slotted to headline had been canceled for unknown reasons.

Like any artist, crow has turned her hardships into gold, as great things are expected of “Detours”.

Crow has a number of television appearances scheduled in the next few weeks where she will debut some of the new songs, like “God Bless This Mess”, from the album.

Crow Finds Love After Armstrong

Rocker SHERYL CROW has moved on from her broken engagement to LANCE ARMSTRONG last year and is currently enjoying a new romance.

The celebrity couple announced they were splitting last February and less than two weeks later she was diagnosed with breast cancer.

Crow is now cancer-free and in a healthy relationship with a partner whose name she won’t reveal to protect his privacy.

She explains, “I’m celebrating being in a happy, successful relationship. I think you’re at your best when truly your love is for yourself and all other love stems from that.

“I’ve been really good at loving other people, but you get a little short-changed when that comes above yourself.”

She adds, “I’m the happiest I’ve ever been, without question. And the most fulfilled.”

Crow To Kick off Tour With John Mayer

Sheryl Crow will be hitting the road again for a tour with John Mayer kicking off Aug. 24 in Pittsburgh, the Associated Press reports.

The singer has been doing small shows over the last few months, but this will be her first cross country tour since her diagnosis of cancer.

Crow told AP although she only finished treatment six weeks ago, she has been itching to get back on to the stage and perform again.

“A song as simple as ‘Home’ for me, it really grabs my heart when I sing that song because the way people really showed up for me in my illness, not just family and friends but people all over the world sending me cards and sending prayers and love,” she said. “It was a powerful experience for me.”

A portion of proceeds from the ticket sales of the tour will go to support the Breast Cancer Research Foundation.

Sheryl Crow Returns to the Stage

After undergoing surgery and radiation treatments for breast cancer, rocker Sheryl Crow returned to the stage today for the first time, the Associated Press reports.

Crow performed at the launch of My Network TV, a television station premiering in the U.S. this fall. She was hired to sing three of her hit songs, including “A Change Would Do You Good,” which will be the theme on one of the new programs on the network.

Crow reportedly had to stop and restart the song “Soak Up the Sun” after messing up a few of the lyrics.

Despite the mistake, Crow said she was glad to be back on stage again.

Another week, another celebrity break-up. This time, it’s one of America’s most beloved couples, singer Sheryl Crow and cyclist Lance Armstrong.

The couple had been engaged since August and were planning to get married in April in Armstrong’s adopted hometown of Austin, Texas. It would have been the Grammy-winner’s first marriage and Armstrong’s second. He has three children from a previous marriage.

In a joint statement issued to People magazine, which reported the break-up on Friday, Crow and Armstrong said, “After much thought and consideration we have made a very tough decision to split up. We both have a deep love and respect for each other, and we ask that everyone respect our privacy during this difficult time.”

Aside from winning a record seven consecutive Tour de France titles, Armstrong, 34, is known as a cancer survivor. He was diagnosed with testicular cancer in 1996. The disease went on to spread to his lungs and brain, but Armstrong recovered and went on to become a cycling champion.

Crow and Armstrong began dating in 2003 after meeting at a cycling event.

Singer Sheryl Crow and biker Lance Armstrong have ended their engagement after two years of dating.

The multi-Grammy winner and seven-time Tour de France champion announced their split in a joint public statement to People magazine this week.

“After much thought and consideration we have made a very tough decision to split up,” says the statement. “We both have a deep love and respect for each other, and we ask that everyone respect our privacy during this difficult time.”

Crow and Armstrong met in 2003 at a cycling event and became engaged in 2005. They had planned on having their wedding in Austin, Texas.

Sheryl Crow and Lance Armstrong announced their engagement on Monday after almost two years of dating.

Armstrong, 33, proposed last week while the couple were on a mountain biking vacation in Sun Valley, Idaho.

Armstrong, a seven time Tour de France winner, and Crow, 43, began dating after meeting at a charity event in October 2003.

No date has been set for the wedding, but Armstrong’s spokesperson said it would likely happen in the spring and somewhere the United States.

It will be the first marriage for Crow and the second for Armstrong, who has three children from a previous marriage.
