Celebrity Romance Rumours: Krasinski and Blunt, Tyra Banks, Shania Twain

As the summer of love comes to a close, a few celebrities have squeezed in romantic updates and even one delicious scandal.

First of all, everyone’s favourite tall-awkward-funny-guy John Krasinski (The Office) announced his engagement to actress girlfriend Emily Blunt (The Devil Wears Prada). The couple have been dating since November, but keep their relationship under lock and key, including any details about an upcoming wedding.

Another potential celebrity wedding was spotted in Los Angeles this weekend: America’s Next Top Model Tyra Banks was caught sporting an awfully large stone on her ring finger, possibly meaning an engagement to longtime boyfriend, businessman John Utendahl. Banks hasn’t revealed any details, but she sure isn’t shy about carting the ring around town.

News surfaced from one of Canada’s most sordid love triangles this week, as Shania Twain celebrated her 44th birthday by posting vacation videos on her website featuring her and Frederic Thiebaud. Thiebeaud is the ex-husband of Twain’s ex-best friend, Marie-Anne Thiebaud, who incidentally was also Twain’s secretary before she became involved with Twain’s ex-husband, Robert Lange, and ruined their marriage. Got that? Yeah, me either.

Twain has never publicly stated she and Thiebaud are in a relationship, but she blogs on and on about their ongoing support for one another during the tumultuous last year. The videos don’t shy away from evidence, though, as the two are inseparable during a series of vacations through Florida, Switzerland, Spain and Egypt.

Could Shania Twain’s former long-time secretary and house manager be the reason the singer and her husband Robert “Mutt” Lange split?

Several sources claim Marie-Anne Thiébaud, 37, was behind the couple’s recent marital break-up.

“Mutt and Marie-Anne left their spouses for each other and are still in a relationship,” says one source. However, the “other woman” denies she is the cause of the couple’s marriage problems.

According to E! News, Thiébaud said, “If you’re looking for a person that broke up a marriage, then you have the wrong person. I’m not that person.” Lange has also denied to “People” magazine that Thiébaud was the reason he and Twain have split, stating that an affair was “absolutely not the reason [for the breakup]… It’s literally just a growing apart, that’s all.”

Last week, Twain announced her split from her music producer husband after 14 years of marriage. The couple have a six-year-old son together named Eja.

Shania Twain and Hubby Calling It Quits

According to People.com, Canadian songstress Shania Twain and her husband Robert ‘Mutt’ Lange are separating.

The couple have been married for 14 years and have a daughter together.

Twain and Lange married after dating each other for six months.

A spokesman for the family said that the separation was a private matter and that there would be no further comment.

Twain, Sutherland to Get Hollywood Walk Stars

Two Canadians — actor Kiefer Sutherland and country musician Shania Twain — will be given stars on the Hollywood Walk of Fame in 2007.

Next year’s recipients of the honour were announced Friday by Walk of Fame committee chairman Johnny Grant, reports the Canadian Press.

“It’s a privilege to honour these performers,” said Grant, adding that more than 200 nominations had been reviewed before a final selection of 23 honorees was made.

The list of recipients was ratified by the Hollywood Chamber of Commerce board of directors.

In addition to the two Canadians, the following celebs will be getting a sidewalk slab of their own: Barbara Walters, Sean “P. Diddy” Combs, rock DJ Rodney Bingenheimer, Michael Caine, Matt Damon, Lauren Shuler Donner, Jamie Foxx, John Goodman, Michelle Pfeiffer, Robert Altman, Erik Estrada, Jerry Stiller, Dick Wolf, Mariah Carey, The Doors, Crystal Gayle, Tim McGraw, LeAnn Rimes, Tim Rice, Lily Tomlin and Stu Nahan.

Shania Twain Given Order of Canada

Country singer Shania Twain will receive the Order of Canada on Friday.

Twain will be among 43 recipients honoured by Governor General Michaelle Jean.

CTV.ca says Twain was a last minute recipient.

The Governor General’s office said her nomination is the result of her remaining true to her Canadian roots (she is a native of Timmins, Ont.) and her dedication to eliminating child hunger (she supports several food banks and breakfast programs).

“According to the Governor General’s office, Officers of the Order of Canada have demonstrated an outstanding level of talent and service to Canadians”, reports CTV.ca.
