Somehow, though, I don’t think the Razzies will have a great effect on who will win or lose at the Oscars.

The 2011 Golden Raspberry Awards were handed out last night, and here’s a list of the “winners”.

Worst Picture
“The Last Airbender”

Worst Actor
Ashton Kutcher, “Killers” and “Valentine’s Day”

Worst Actress
Sarah Jessica Parker, Kim Cattrall, Kristin Davis, Cynthia Nixon “Sex and the City 2?

Worst Supporting Actress
Jessica Alba, “The Killer Inside Me,” “Little Fockers,” “Machete” and “Valentine’s Day”

Worst Supporting Actor
Jackson Rathbone, “The Last Airbender,” “Eclipse”

Worst Eye-Gouging Mis-Use of 3-D
“The Last Airbender”

Worst Screen Couple/Screen Ensemble
The entire cast of “Sex and the City 2?

Worst Director
M. Night Shyamalan, “The Last Airbender”

Worst Screenplay
“The Last Airbender,” written by M. Night Shyamalan

Worst Prequel, Remake, Rip-Off or Sequel
“Sex and the City 2?

I haven’t seen many of the movies on this list, but by the looks of the commercial, “The Last Airbender” probably should win this title. I’m not a fan of M. Night Shyamalan, so I’m glad he won Worst Director as well. Very glad. I mean, have you seen The Happening? So, so, bad.

I’m not surprised the entire cast of Sex and the City 2 won Worst Actress and Sequel. I knew that movie would get ripped to shreds the moment it came out – nobody likes a sequel. But in all honestly, the movie isn’t that bad. Sure, all they do is shop, complain, and have sex, but that’s far better than something like “Mean Girls 2″ or “Leprechaun 2″…. seriously.

I think the Razzies are fun and take the seriousness out of award seasons… I mean really, are movies that important? People treat it like it’s a life or death situation during the oscars. It’s a golden little statue, people!

Posted on andPOP:

The glamorous women of Sex and the City jetted to Las Vegas last night – well all of them, but one. Sarah Jessica Parker, Kristin David and Cynthia Nixon were all in Sin City to accept the honour of winning this year’s Ensemble Award at ShowWest, a movie industry convention, but Kim Cattrall was nowhere to be found, according to E! Online.

This time, it is not because of gossip or a feud, she was simply busy starring in a West End production of Noel Coward’s play Private Lives, in London.

The girls joked about her absence, and expressed their fondness to the smokin’ 53-year-old actress.

“We don’t like her, so she’s gone,” Parke joked backstage. “We’ve actually been emailing with her for the last three or four hours. The next time you see us, we will be complete.”

Nixon added, “We miss her.”

Davis was there to set the record straight about yet another recent tabloid of the cast catfighting. “I want to clear this up,” she said, “I promise I have never made Kim eat alone in a restaurant!”

Fans are extremely eager for plot and storyline details for the upcoming sequel, but the cast stayed tightlipped, letting very little out. However, they did dish about a location switch – from glamorous New York City to not-so-glamorous North Africa.

“We happened to be staying at a hotel that had no electricity and no indoor plumbing,” Davis said. “We always had to run out to trailers to go to the bathroom.”

Much different than shopping on Fifth Avenue.

Parker added, “We were drinking so much mint tea, but it was a real dilemma: Do you hydrate or do you pee less?”

The much-anticipated sequel is released at the end of May, and fans are already hoping for a third. Although no decision has been made, Nixon cracked, “We’re going to do Sex in Space.”

All we can do is cross our fingers.

Posted on andPOP:

Bradley Cooper gained two important things from shooting his upcoming hyped summer comedy flick The Hangover.

The first being his now refined Yoda-like knowledge of throwing the perfect bachelor party- which he says should include condoms, a muppet, and lots of ice.

But the second, and by far gaining the most buzz, is Cooper’s promotion of a lifetime from a working actor, to well, a movie star.

Only, if you ask the humble 34-year-old North Philly about the hype, you’ll suddenly be hauled back down to earth.

“I don’t feel any of that and maybe I should,” Cooper tells andPOP modestly, trying to keep the excitement at bay. A failed attempt, considering Warner Bros. Entertainment already gave the green light to a sequel in 2011 even before the current film hits theaters on June 5.

“I will admit this though,” he says, “I do have a bigger role in the movie than usual which I really liked.”

A lot bigger. Try the de facto lead role or “the cool alpha-male character,” as co-star Ed Helms puts it.

Cooper stars as Phil, the front-man of four buddies who head off for a wild bachelor party in Las Vegas. But how wild? Well imagine waking up the following morning only to find your groom missing, your memory from the night before erased, and your $4,000 Vegas hotel suite trashed, to say the least.

Though “trashed” is generally an understatement when a chicken is waddling around the living room, Mike Tyson’s pet tiger is in the bathroom, and an abandoned six-month-old infant is crying in the closet.

“That set design was literally crazy” recalls Cooper. “We had a bowling alley, an amazing castle made out of cards that would have taken months to do, and there was also a whole other castle made out of beer bottles. So much detail.”

Adds the actor, “And the fact that they nixed the whole bachelor party sequence, makes the story so appealing. With the group trying to find clues as to what happened the night before- it’s almost like a detective or mystery story.”

Moving up on Hollywood’s totem pole, Cooper’s role required two crucial assets: superb comic timing and leadership, both which the actor had in spades.

His well-known ability in the comedy genre is evident. With supporting roles in Wedding Crashers, Yes Man, and He’s Just Not That Into You, Cooper knows how to make people laugh- but was long overdue to be given the reigns.

Sure enough, Director Todd Phillips -known for his work in Old School, Starsky and Hutch, and Road Trip- knew Cooper’s potential, and was 100% sure that the actor was a born leader and ready to prove it.

“I was really impressed with him (Todd),” says Cooper. “He has this ability to know what he likes and wants, and then get the most of of people.

“It definitely took some convincing from him to help me embrace the role, I just wasn’t feeling it right in the beginning. Phil’s just that guy who reeks of leadership, the guy who everyone turns to to solve everything.”

It’s a funny predicament considering Cooper is one of those actors who you would call a total contrast to their characters on-screen. Sure, his resume of roles in films tend to be the cocky, rowdy ringleaders, but here at the Windsor Arms hotel in Toronto, the guy couldn’t be more gentle and sincere if he tried. Beats him why he’s usually cast as the “jerk,” but Cooper explains how the character in The Hangover is different.

“You eventually realize,” says the actor, “that Phil doesn’t really go there to sleep with hookers and stuff, but that he’s an elementary school teacher and also a caring father.”

“He used to be a party guy- with the girls, booze and Vegas- but now he’s going along with the ride and trying to make his friend’s bachelor night the greatest. His buddies mean everything to him.”

Cooper found he was able relate to that kind of character, as those were the kinds of figures he had in his life as a kid growing up in an Italian/Irish family in Jenkintown, Pennsylvania.

“I knew fathers like that,” says Cooper, who would later on graduate with a B.A. in English from Georgetown University in 1997, and then a Masters in Fine Arts from the Actors Studio at New School University.

“You know they talk the big game, but they’re at every little league game, they have complete love and care for their children.”

With an initiation into the business in a 1998 episode on Sex and the City, Cooper has since then managed to swiftly maneuver through times as a supporting guy in someone else ’s hit movie- whether it be Owen Wilson and Vince Vaughn’s Wedding Crashers, Matthew McConaughey’s Failure to Launch or Jim Carrey’s Yes Man.

This time though, with the scales tipped in his favor, Cooper was the one fortunate to have a thriving supporting cast: fresh up-and-coming faces like Helms (NBC’s The Office), Zach Galifianakis (The Comedy Network) and Justin Bartha (National Treasure).

“Such funny guys,” says Cooper. “I tell you, we had such great chemistry, we played off each other perfectly.”

Stuck in Vegas for a month-and-a-half in the Fall, it was a combo destined to get lucky. But despite the endless entertaining opportunities in Sin City, Cooper reveals that with exhausting 16 hour work days, the crew rarely indulged and went out on the town.

“We never had anytime to go out after shooting,” he explains. “It was a lot of work, we would just get some sleep.”

Well almost. “We did crash Nick Cannon’s birthday party though,” Cooper says with a smirk, referring to the party hosted by Cannon’s wife Mariah Carey at PURE nightclub.

However, on cue, the actor refrains from elaborating on any further details, and only gives the age-old mantra “what happens in Vegas, stays in Vegas.”

Variety reports that all four stars – Sarah Jessica Parker, Kim Cattrall, Kristin Davis and Cynthia Nixon – will return, along with writer-director Michael Patrick King.

Although plot details have yet to be released, Parker told MTV News in November that fans shouldn’t expect to see Carrie sporting a baby bump underneath her high-fashion threads. “[Motherhood] doesn’t seem as if that’s going to be a choice she’ll make,” she said. “It feels a little bit manipulative to toss that into the mix because she seems so pointed in a different direction.”

The sequel’s release date mirrors that of the first movie, which hit theatres on the same weekend last year (May 30). It went on to pull in $412.6 million at the worldwide box office, a whooping amount for an R-rated romantic comedy.

The only other movie currently scheduled to open against the sequel is the action fantasy “Prince of Persia: The Sands of Time,” starring Jake Gyllenhaal and Gemma Arterton.

Posted on andPOP:

It’s official: Carrie, Samantha, Charlotte and Miranda will return to the big screen.

A sequel to the “Sex and the City” movie is in the works, with all four female leads — Sarah Jessica Parker, Kim Cattrall, Kristin Davis and Cynthia Nixon — aboard the new project, movie studio New Line confirmed Thursday.

The script will be written by Michael Patrick King, who wrote and directed the first movie.

“I’m very excited to work with these amazing actresses again and would love to give everyone more information about the sequel,” King said in a statement, adding jokingly, “… but I’m busy with my Sex life.”

King also worked on the hit “SATC” cable TV series, which ended its six-year run in 2004.

The show’s leap to the big screen last year was a box-office success, grossing $415 million worldwide.

The sequel is tentatively scheduled to hit theatres in 2010.

The answer is maybe.

When asked by MTV News if a “Sex And The City” sequel is a possibility, Sarah Jessica Parker said, “We are talking about it. We’ve had very general conversations about the idea. That’s the big hurdle: the idea. The studio is very enthusiastic, which is lovely and seductive. We’re at the place where [writer/director] Michael [Patrick King] has a wealth of stories so now it’s, ‘We think we have this story and how do we put this together and are we completely sure that it’s the right thing to do?’ ”

As for a shooting date for the sequel, Parker told MTV News next summer could be a possibility, “I think it’s a realistic timetable. That’s when we’d start shooting to be out in 2010. But that means we need to figure this out in the next couple of months.”

Posted on andPOP:

And the casting of teenage Carrie Bradshaw begins.

According to E! News, Since HarperCollins announced that ‘Sex and the City’ author Candace Bushnell has signed a deal to write two novels focusing on Bradshaw’s high school years, rumours are starting that a television or movie adaptation are soon to follow.

But if the book series does move to the little (or big) screen, will Selena Gomez play the young Bradshaw?

Not quite.

“That’s not really the audience I’m going for,” Gomez, 16, tells E! News. “I mean, my mom loves the show and it’s a very popular show, but that’s not the direction I’m looking to take at this time.”

How about Miley Cyrus?

“I’d love to do a younger, cleaner version of Sex and the City,” Cyrus, 15, once said in an interview. “I like to think of myself as the girl that no one can get, that no one can keep in their hand.”

Posted on andPOP:

The critics who lamented Sex and the City lost something in its translation to the big screen have forgotten something: it wasn’t a very good show to begin with.

Don’t get me wrong: it was a good show. It was a three-and-a-half star show. It was groundbreaking, certainly. Even now there’s nothing else – on TV or in movies – that’s quite like it. It was gloriously frank; unlike many half-hour sitcoms in the late 90s (and possibly today – I wouldn’t know since I stopped watching them) Sex and the City could actually show sex and thus its characters engaged in sex rather than always talking about it, which left them free to also talk about other things, which ironically made Sex and the City one of the least dirty shows on television. Most importantly, it was consistent – whereas many character driven shows are either cancelled before their time or continue airing long after their time has passed, Sex and the City paid attention to its characters, maintained its talented writing staff, and gave everyone room to grow. After six seasons it wrapped up just as it should have, bringing each of its major storylines to a close and yet, like all great entertainment, leaving its audience wanting more.

So of course there was demand for a reunion. But consider: Each of these women have continued living their lives, except (we hope) with less drama. Carrie Bradshaw (Sarah Jessica Parker) ended up with her longtime on-again, off-again boyfriend, Mr. Big (Chris Noth); Charlotte York (Kristen Davis) lived happily ever after with Harry Goldenblatt (Evan Handler), her former attorney; power lawyer Miranda Hobbes (Cynthia Nixon) got everything: the job, the home, the husband (Steve Brady, played by David Eigenberg), and the kid; while Samantha Jones (Kim Cattrall) became stinking rich managing her boy toy, Smith Jerrod (Jason Lewis).

Now drama requires conflict. Stability does not provide conflict, which is why we often go to movies in the first place. Series head Michael Patrick King (who wrote and directed the movie) essentially had three options: conflict between the girls (unlikely), within the girls (the neuroses of all four were explored thoroughly in the show), or with outside forces, such as their boyfriends or a vacation destination (also unlikely, since nearly any excuse to send the girls, none of whom like travelling, outside New York is going to come off as contrived, while issues with their boyfriends were also thoroughly explored). And he must leave the girls wrapped in the same kind of bow they were wrapped in when the show finished. What to do?

King picked among the lesser of these evils. He threw in some curveballs which initially feel contrived, but are quickly accepted (which also happened on a fairly regular basis in the show). He threw in at least one instance of toilet humour (something along the lines of Miranda discovering tread marks on Steve’s underpants). He made deals with top designers and shows off their fashions early. And he threw in labels, labels, labels. No mention of Carrie’s beloved Prada bag, but there is a lovely pair of blue Minolos.

The film is by fans, for fans: if you’re not familiar with the series, I can’t see you liking the movie. The series took time to grow on you, and even at its best wasn’t for everyone. SATC newbies will look at the movie, turn away from the affluent, selfish characters and focus on designer labels, and complain that it’s too long. (Two and a half hours, or five episodes of the show.) SATC fans wouldn’t have it any other way.

The only complaint I can make actually is that Carrie’s gay friend, Stanford Blatch (Willie Garson), barely has three lines in the entire film.

According to gossip site TMZ.com, The New York times reported that Parker wore a Nina Ricci gown to the premiere but was unaware that her “one of a kind’ gown was previously paraded by socialite Lauren Santo Domingo and singer-actress Lindsay Lohan.

Parker claims that she was assured by the designer that the gown had never been worn or photographed before.

“What they did was so short-sighted. It’s just unethical and disappointing that they would allow the dress to be worn again,” the actress told the newspaper.

This incident is quite the fashion faux pas for Parker, who is famous for playing fashion-savvy Carrie Bradshaw in “Sex and the City.”

According to PerezHilton.com, Davis, who plays Charlotte on the hit series and movie “Sex and the City,” will launch her own clothing line at Belk department stores this fall.

Davis says that her clothing line is similar to her “Sex and the City” character’s fashion.

“Charlotte dresses in a very feminine way, and I love her playful nature. I grew up shopping at Belk. It was the nicest store we had, and I’d save my allowance to go.”

The collection is said to consist of very feminine clothing and accessories, and will include clothing, undergarments, shoes, jewelry, and purses.

Items are set to cost between $38 to $240, which is much cheaper than a pair of Manolo Blahnik shoes.

Co-star Sarah Jessica Parker already has her own clothing line, BITTEN.

Posted on andPOP:

Some “Sex and the City” fans may be burying their heads in shoe boxes to avoid any spoilers about the upcoming movie, but it may not be necessary.

Director-producer Michael Patrick King has killed the rumour about the death of an unnamed character.

“It’s a summer movie,” he told Yahoo! News. “Why would I want to kill anyone?”

King did say that killing Mr. Big – heroine Carrie’s long-time love – was considered, but he didn’t think it would go over well with the audience.

“I did want an emotional roller-coaster, but my ultimate target was to make our ‘girlfriends’ — in other words, our audience — happy. And I don’t think Mr. Big dying would make them happy.

“I would have been chased around the planet by women with torches.”

Posted on andPOP:

KRISTIN DAVIS is desperate to star a big screen version of her hit TV show SEX AND THE CITY, so she can complete storylines involving her character.

The 41-year-old star, who played CHARLOTTE YORK in the show, says writers had planned to wrap up her storylines in a feature film, but everything was left hanging when the movie fell through.

She explains, “One of the reasons that I want to do the movie personally is that I feel like Charlotte is unfinished.

“We had taken a lot of her storylines and meant for them to be in the movie, so I need that movie, but I’m kind of a broken record talking about that!”

Davis says the film is back on track, but nothing is set in stone adding, “It’s a big deal!

“We feel an obligation to our fans that if we did it, it needs to be great we don’t want to just throw something up there on the screen. Are we closer? Yes.

“Can I tell you that it is absolutely going tot happen on a certain date? No, we’re not that close. But I’m certainly doing everything in my personal power to make that happen!”
