Lindsay Lohan has been ordered to undergo psychological counselling, reports CTV.

The troubled actress has also been sentenced to three years probation, attend The Shoplifter’s Alternative program, pay fines of $180 and stay away from jeweller Kanofie and Co. after pleading no contest to stealing a necklace from the store.

Lohan didn’t appear in court this morning for the sentencing.

Last month, Lohan was deemed to have breached the terms of her 2007 probation, which was set following a driving under the influence conviction, because of the theft charges. She was sentenced to 480 hours of community service and 120 days jail, for which she must turn herself in on June 17.

The 24-year-old star, who began her community service last week, has made an application to serve the jail term under house arrest, a move which is expected to be approved.

“I’ve made a lot of poor decisions in the past and I’m dealing with the consequences of those decisions, so there were times when I was concerned but I’m a fighter and I know that I have a lot of work to do to gain the respect back and I’m willing to do the work that I have to do to be an actress,” said Lohan in an interview.

Hopefully this is the last time she goes through this. She got really lucky this time around, and I’m rooting for her to finally, finally, get back on track.

Lindsay Lohan checked herself into a Hollywood, CA rehab facility yesterday reports TMZ. Later in the day, Lohan’s mother Dina and Sam Ronson were spotted at the facility.

Lohan’s new lawyer Robert Shapiro is trying to work with Judge Revel to eliminate or reduce Lindsay’s jail sentence, and push rehab instead.

As part of Lindsay’s current sentence, she is supposed to serve 90 days in jail followed by rehab. Entering rehab now is obviously not part of the deal.

Although Lindsay Lohan has been sentenced to 90 days in jail, she is still convinced she can stay out of jail. In order to do so, she has hired Stuart V. Goldberg from Chicago to represent her.

“Lindsay has no intention of going to jail,” a friend of Lohan’s tells PopEater. “The only thing that Lindsay did wrong was hire the wrong attorney and now she has fixed that.”

Although Lindsay is supposed to start her sentence on July 20, with her new lawyer in charge, Lohan is convinced she won’t have to go to jail.

“She is paying her new lawyer a fortune to fix this mess. She doesn’t care what it takes,” an insider tells PopEater. “If Lindsay needs to start a Facebook campaign or set up protests or something like that she is totally into it. They are treating Lindsay differently because she is a star, so it’s about time she used her star power to help her. She’s seen the movie ‘Chicago’ several times, so it’s not like she doesn’t know how this sort of thing works!”

With what Lindsay is paying in legal fees to Mr. Goldberg, this new lawyer better do something for her!

Today was supposed to be the first day of Lil’ Wayne’s year-long jail sentence after the rapper plead guilty to attempted possession of a weapon in the second degree. As andPOP has already reported, Lil Wayne’s sentence start date has been delayed due to the rapper requiring “emergency” dental surgery.

However, “Weezy” didn’t leave home before saying a final good-bye to all of his fans.

“I’m out this bitch. To all my fans, my real fans, I really, really, really truly love you. I love you with all of me, for real. I’ll probably be loving everything else because I love you so much. Thank you from the bottom [of my heart]. Do not forget about me ’cause I will forever think about you, and I cannot wait for you to see me again. I’m out,” said the rapper as he choked back tears.

A few moments later, Lil’ Wayne sped off in his $1.7 million Bugatti Veyron to serve his one-year sentence.

Before serving hard time, Lil’ Wayne made sure to get in as much time in the studio as possible. In fact, the rapper’s last night of freedom was spent mixing and rapping in his personal studio.

Well don’t do the crime if you can’t do the crime, that’s the lesson here. It looks like the Balloon Boy’s parents will be going to jail for their executed hoax. According to TMZ Richard Heene, the mastermind behind the scam and father of the Balloon Boy, will be sentenced to 90 days in prison. Mayumi Heene, the Balloon Boy’s Mother, was also sentenced to 20 days, which she will serve after her husband’s term.

Richard Heene will be able to serve his sentence in a “work-release program” where he will be able to work as a construction contractor. Additionally he will be placed on a 4 year probation, and will not be able to profit from the Balloon Boy hoax during that period.

O.J. Simpson, who walked away a free man after one of the so-called murder trials of the century has been sentenced to 15 years in jail, with further conditions that may extend his imprisonment by 2 ½ years.

On October 3rd, the 61-year-old former football star was found guilty of armed robbery and kidnapping by a Las Vegas jury.

The incident leading to his conviction and then his later sentence on December 5th took place in 2007 inside the four walls of a Las Vegas hotel room, where Simpson provoked a raid to recover sports memorabilia items that he claimed were his.

Simpson’s lawyer, Yale Galanter stressed that the trial unfairly cornered Simpson during its investigations and that the results were ‘overblown charges’.

According to People’s Magazine, Nevada judge Jackie Glass who delivered the sentence made it clear that she was only sentencing Simpson for the actions for which he was currently on trial and not those of his past (referring to the 1994 murders of Simpsons ex-wife, Nicole Brown Simpson, and her friend Ronald Goldman). “The problem is that I can’t ignore that the behavior at the time…was reckless…A gun was used…property was stolen…and now I will sentence you,” she said.

While Simpson remained calm during this delivery he did not hesitate to make an attempted apology to the court for his actions, adding that he denied knowing they were illegal to begin with.

The statement was disregarded and he was then denied bail before being escorted from the courtroom in a navy prison jumpsuit.

Anne Hathaway’s ex-boyfriend, Raffaello Follieri, was sentenced Thursday to 4 1/2 years in prison in a Manhattan federal court.

Follieri delivered a statement through an interpreter, in which he stressed that he wasn’t raised with bad values, and started off with good intentions. He also admitted that what he did was wrong and hopes to be forgiven by those he has hurt. He will to not appeal a sentence of less than 63 months in prison.

Follieri was arrested in June and pleaded guilty to 14 counts of wire fraud, money laundering and conspiracy in September. Initially, sentencing was planned for December, but the hearing was moved up to Oct. 3 after Follieri was unable to meet his $21 million bail.

Hathaway began dating Follieri in 2004, and the two broke up in June this year. Follieri was arrested in April of this year as well, for trying to pass a $215,000 bad cheque.

Kiefer Sutherland pleaded guilty on Tuesday after he was arrested for driving under the influence.

As part of his plea deal, Sutherland will serve 30 days for this DUI, his fourth, and 18 days for violating probation on his 2004 DUI arrest.

“I’m very disappointed in myself for the poor judgment I exhibited recently,” Sutherland said in a statement, “and I’m deeply sorry for the disappointment and distress this has caused my family, friends and co-workers at ’24′ and at 20th Century Fox.”

Sutherland will start his service on December 21, while the show is on hiatus. He was also ordered to enroll in an 18-month alcohol education program and attend weekly alcohol therapy classes for six months.
