Despite being her fave song to record, Selena Gomez was shocked at the success of “Love You Like a Love Song.” We weren’t!
In the second part of andPOP’s exclusive video of Selena Gomez’s “Postcards From The Road,” she talks about how “Love You Like a Love Song” allows her to connect with fans on stage.
“Whenever I sing that, I feel like I’m talking to my fans, singing to them” she says. “They leave me little notes and they usually always say “Love You Like a Love Song” one them ‘ so I feel like that’s a really cool song to connect with.”
It’s no surprise that the song allows her to connect with her fans. Although she doesn’t share the same language as many of her fans, music transcends their differences and she becomes one with her fans.
“Music is the universal language. You can connect with anybody, you don’t even have to speak their language,” she says. ”Which is why I love the fact that music can bring people together like that.”

Selena Gomez has the best fans ever. No really. Even Selena thinks so, though admittedly, she might be biased. In a Canadian EXCLUSIVE five-part web series for andPOP called “Postcards from the Road,” she gushes about her devoted fan base.
Each of the webisodes display different aspects of her South American tour with The Scene, including intimate behind the scenes looks and clips of her actual concerts.
“My fans are really, really passionate,” she says in the clip. “I can have 10 people or I can have 10,000. And it just doesn’t matter the number,” she said. “They’re all really incredible people that really want to make a difference. That really care about the music. That care about each other. And to see them travel miles and miles to different countries, different places just to hear me play the same songs over and over again is really special.”

Well that’s fun. In a new film directed by Harmony Korine, The Black Keys are dressed like giant babies in pastel onesies, holding bottles and giving the camera their trademark deadpan expressions. It’s all to the tune of their song “Gold On The Ceiling,” which already has a music video, but hey, who cares?
What else would we expect from Harmony Korine after all? The guy is directing the controversial new film Spring Breakers starring Selena Gomez, Vanessa Hudgens and Ashley Benson.
The video is so bizarre it makes me like The Black Keys more than I already do, which trust me, is a lot. The track is from El Camino, which is out now.

According to paparazzi — a.k.a the photogs who make news out of nothing — Justin Bieber is a dangerous criminal. Well actually, TMZ reports he’s a suspect in a criminal battery for some sort of “physical altercation” with a paparazzo.
Bieber was in Calabasas, where he lives, just after noon on Sunday at a mall. The paparazzo attempted to take his picture and after an alleged physical altercation the photog called 911.
As if this story weren’t already bogus (I mean, WTF?) witnesses say a lawyer walked up to the photographer and told him to call for an ambulance and file a police report because he could get a lot of cash for the incident.
TMZ also reports the photog was blocking Justin’s car and when the popstar asked him to move the pap said “sorry, don’t want to.” That’s when the supposed scuffle ensued and of course, there are unfortunate photos of Bieber without a shoe.
The photog complained of pain to his upper torso and was taken to a local hospital. Cops are investigating the incident as a misdemeanour battery and want to speak with Bieber, his girlfriend Selena Gomez and other witnesses.
It sounds like another case of someone trying to milk a celebrity for whatever cash they can get. Who can blame Bieber for getting frustrated at a pap for blocking his car? I’ve heard the whole spiel like “well celebrities get paid so much money so they have to put up with all the garbage.” And yes, that’s true to a certain point, but there must be random moments of complete frustration, made even worse because any outburst will be blown up in the gossip rags within an hour.
Naturally, Bieber was training with Mike Tyson before the incident so you know you don’t want to mess with him. That aside, do you think this is a serious case?

With mashups becoming increasingly easier for the average music lover to create at home, authentic collaborations between artists are becoming more exciting. But alas, some of my fave potential collaborations are but a distant dream. So, if anyone out there can hook up the following artists together and convince them to make sweet musical love, I (not to mention my my ears) will be forever grateful. Without further ado, here are the top five unlikely musical collaborations we’d love to hear.
1) Selena Gomez / Azealia Banks
I’m convinced Selena Gomez has a hip-hop freak hiding underneath her pretty persona. With boyfriend Jusin Beiber’s recent foray into the R&B/hip-hop scene, Gomez could learn a thing or two from up and coming female rapper Azealia Banks. Both women are chameleons, with Banks sampling pretty much every genre possible in her music and Gomez pulling off every look possible in her “Love You Like a Love Song” video. Banks and Gomez could have a sassy hit together.
2) Taylor Swift / Florence and the Machine
Okay, Florence Welch is on a level of her own, creatively and vocally, but if any pop star can come close to keeping up with Welch’s powerful pipes, it’s T-Swizzle. The girl has proved herself, winning six Grammies in her career, and actually has instrumental talent, unlike many of her counterparts in the pop and country scene. Swift could back Flo with a piano or guitar and lend her sweet voice. The two women could create something magical. No really.

I’ll half admit that I want to read Fifty Shades of Grey just to see what all the hooplah is about. The book was written by E.L. James as a work of Twilight fanfiction and went viral — it’s even going to be turned into a movie. So, you know I’m all over this Funny or Die parody, featuring Selena Gomez reading “Fifty Shades of Blue.”
I’m kind of loving that Selena is actually pretty funny, plus she manages to pull off the sexual undertones of the book while being tasteful. After reading a few chapters of the erotic novel, Selena is attracted to the grimey painter that paints her walls sky blue. The overall-wearing painter doesn’t cover his mouth when he coughs and scoops out belly lint right in front of her.
Meanwhile, a turned on Selena silently watches him paint from the corner, gnawing on his paint swatches like they’re dog bones and nearly drawing blood after biting her lip. Ultimately, she manages to creep out the creepiest guy ever.

Summer. [Insert a relaxing sigh here] The more I say it the more excited I get. Now that the weather is FINALLY bearable and the beaches are officially opened, it’s time to brainstorm summer date ideas… inspired by who else? Some of our favourite celebs.
1) Bike Date
Miley Cyrus and hunky boyfriend Liam Hemsworth pedalled to a nearby 7-11 convenience store to get a Slurpee in Toluca, California. They’re the ultimate couple for cute date ideas. In the past they’ve gone jet-skiing and got fresh Dirty Dancing-style. Miley also punk’d Liam, though we only advise that if you both have a good sense of humour.
2) Outdoor Movie
Justin Bieber rented out an ENTIRE movie theatre for a date with Selena Gomez. Okay, so this probs isn’t going to happen. For one thing, you’re not Justin Bieber. Also, you’re not Justin Bieber. Anyway, the musician rented out the Staples Center so he and Selena could watch Titanic in privacy. Apparently he didn’t even have to pay! We’re not expecting you to top this because it’s oodles of moolah, but a simple drive-in movie is be a cute date idea. If you don’t have a car, that’s okay. Set up a blanket on the grass and enjoy the movie in each other’s arms.

Staying true to her roots, Texas native Selena Gomez posted this picture on her Facebook yesterday with the caption, “released some stress today,” while at a shooting range in Bulgaria. Even Hollywood stars need some downtime and relaxation.
If she’s trying to break away from her Disney star image, she’s definitely done so with the movie Spring Breakers, which is set to be released next year. Selena is currently filming her action packed film for the re-make of The Getaway in Bulgaria. This girl never stops!

You’ve got to be certifiable crazy to be do either.

They say there’s no wrong way to eat an Oreo, but I’ve never seen someone stick a fork through the thing before dipping it in milk. I suppose you would get the maximum amount of coverage without getting your hands wet. Selena Gomez just knows all the tricks.
Figuring out what to do for Mother’s Day is always so tough and rigged with complicated questions. Do you get flowers (lilies, roses, lilacs), chocolate (dark, caramel, almond), or make breakfast (don’t get me started). We’ve been getting glimpses of the upcoming movie Spring Breakers for months courtesy of Selena Gomez and Ashley Benson’s Twitter feed — even though it doesn’t come out until 2013. As if those shots didn’t get us excited enough they were photographed for Interview Magazine, doing all kinds of bad, like getting arrested and looking indifferent to James Franco pointing a gun at their heads.
Spring Breakers stars Gomez, Benson, Vanessa Hudgens and Rachel Korine as four college girls who land in jail after robbing a restaurant to pay for their spring break vacation. And don’t go thinking it’s going to be one of those cheesy teen flicks either. The film is directed by Harmony Korine, who wrote the script for your parent’s worst nightmare Kids.
Are you excited to see the film?
I’d say my worst class photo is from grade two, when I made the regretful decision to chop off my hair in a short mushroom cut that wasn’t too different from Bam Bam in The Flintstones. Needless to say, it wasn’t a favourite look on the playground that year. Luckily, I can now look at that gap-toothed photo of myself and laugh.
It’s also why I love these awkward celebrity yearbook photos, which show how celebrities have evolved from their Wonder Years. Consider adorable Taylor Swift, above, who’s almost unrecognizable, save the eyes.
Surprisingly, most of them look relatively unchanged, despite some extra baby fat, different hair or braces. I’d say the least unchanged award goes to Snooki and the most changed award goes to Taylor or Vanessa Hudgens. What do you think?

If there’s such a thing as being TOO adorable, Taylor Swift’s cat Meredith fits the description. We’re already familiar with some of her cutest moments, like when Taylor patiently explained the ACM voting process to her in a video. In this photo, which Taylor posted on Twitter, she explains: “Meredith in various displays of bad posture. This is happening a lot lately.”
Tay’s Instagram is quickly becoming one of my faves. Think of the time she posted a photo of herself as a lioness at a circus-themed party with Dianna Agron or baking cupcakes with Selena Gomez. Sure, they’re just lighthearted Instagram photos but at least we can count on her for some good old, PG fun.
Justin Bieber has major swag — both literally and figuratively — in his new video for “Boyfriend,” directed by Director X. The first couple teasers he released were apparently intended to throw us off or he changed his mind at the last minute. Instead of the Michael Jackson “Thriller” video I was expecting, it was truer to the behind the scenes video he released a couple days ago.
We get a glimpse of those teasers at the very beginning, but exactly 30 seconds in the song stops, the video goes blank and it starts all over again but this time at a car park.
Justin and his friends are doing donuts and posing pretty in their souped up cars. Although he has major bling and looks tuff (Grease Lightening tuff) he’s also a sensitive guy, whispering in a girl’s ear and playing her songs on the guitar. Really, who can resist someone that vows to be your Buzz Lightyear and eat fondue with you?
He’s markedly more grown-up in this video, seducing a lady who looks like an older version of Selena Gomez (aww). All in all he’s handling his evolution from kid to young adult pretty well. He also has some pretty sweet JT-style moves near the end of the video, which in fact do look cooler in gold shoes.

Will Taylor Swift stop posting these adorbz photos already? Last week Taylor posted snaps of her and Diana Agron donning vintage dresses in celebration of Shirley MacLaine’s birthday and then pics of her and Selena Gomez baking cupcakes and strumming the guitar.
Taylor and her friends dressed up again, but this time for Dianna Agron’s circus-themed birthday party. Taylor is the lion and she stands beside her ringmaster. She tweeted: “The most magical night at @DiannaAgron’s circus themed birthday party!” Stop it already!
Taylor Swift posts the most adorbz photos on Instagram, the app that girlifies mundane life experiences so they’re ready for Pinterest.
These photos in particular make me want to break out a lacy vintage dress, loop dandelions through my hair and go to a Victorian garden party. Taylor and her buddies, including Glee’s Dianna Agron, donned fancy vintage dresses to honour a special someone.
Taylor writes on Twitter: “We dressed up full-time fancy and went out in celebration of Shirley MacLaine’s birthday.”
Taylor also retweeted Selena Gomez’s photo of the girls baking delicious cupcakes at home while dancing and strumming the guitar. Selena tweeted: ”Because you need a best friend that sings beautifully, another best friend to dance with you and another to listen. Oh and cupcakes… Cupcakes.” LOVE. These girls are just being young. It’s a relief that not everyone young in Hollywood trashes it up at night.
Apparently the day-long party in Selena Gomez’s first music video for “Hit the Lights” was so fun it couldn’t be documented in one video alone.
In the original video Selena and her friends frolic and jump in a giant cornfield while giant yellow ballons float around them. When it gets darker, they light sparklers and have a dance-off on a football field.
The new version of the video chronicles their nighttime shenanigans. The 19-year-old is miraculously admitted into a club downtown (it must be all ages) where she dances in front of a disco ball.

Selena Gomez revealed to her fans that she intends to focus on acting for a little while but she still took time to perform “Hit the Lights” with her band The Scene on Dancing with the Stars.
Selena looks GORG in her gold and black strapless dress and we love her bedazzled mic. However, the song doesn’t really showcase her voice. In fact, we can barely hear her! The music and her background singers are so loud her voice is nearly drowned out.
