Now that Selena’s achieved mega-babe status, it’s getting harder and harder to remember that she got her start as a Disney kid. The Spring Breakers star got to cross paths with a few TV legends growing up too – take a look!
She was named after a pop star
Selena Maria Gomez was born in Grand Prairie, Texas, on July 22, 1992. Her look-alike mom named her after the ’90s singer Selena (basically the Madonna of Latin music), pretty much setting baby Selena up for her own run at stardom.
Her first TV role was with Barney
As a kid who grew up on Barney & Friends, I am mega jealous that seven-year-old Selena got to be one of Barney the dinosaur’s pals in 1999. While her real TV breakthrough was yet to come, she got to meet her BFF Demi Lovato on set.
First film!
At 11, Selena made her film debut in the opening scene of 2003′s Spy Kids 3D: Game Over with the least original character name ever: “waterpark girl.” At least she did 3D before 3D movies were cool, right? Way to stay ahead of the curve, Selena!
I seriously don’t know the relationship status between Selena Gomez and Justin Bieber. I thought they were back together but I just can’t assume these things anymore. Last month Selena’s on/off-again boyfriend Justin Bieber landed a double cover of Teen Vogue, and now it’s her turn to grace the newsstands with her cover of InStyle.

Selena Gomez is shedding her Disney Channel look in her latest music video for “Come And Get It.”
After releasing some teasers, the video is finally out and is completely different from Selena’s older stuff. The video shows off Selena’s sultry side as she’s seen dancing by fire, swimming in the ocean and in the arms of a hunky guy. Hopefully Justin doesn’t get too jealous now that the two are back together. The video is amazing and fits the Bollywood-inspired sound of the song album perfectly.

So if you missed out on Coachella, don’t fret because May Day is the perfect (and probably the most legitimate) reason for anyone to be wearing a floral crown. Floral crowns were spotted on the runways and magazine but hit the mainstream thanks to sultry singer Lana Del Rey. They became quite the phenomenon at Coachella and rightly overtook the Native American headdress (this should have never been a trend in the first place) as the hair accessory of choice for concertgoers. Don’t be surprised to see floral crowns at various music festivals this summer.

Things are going great for 20 year old Selena Gomez. Not only has she recently fangirled over meeting Brad Pitt and seem to be rekindling her romance with Justin Bieber, Selena also has the release of her new music video for “Come and Get It” to look forward to.
In this trailer, fans get a glimpse of what they can expect in the upcoming music video. Showing off her seductive side, Selena is seen belly dancing in fields as well as swimming. Fans will have to be patient to view the video in its entirety. According to her Twitter account though, it should be out soon!
While most people have been focusing on what appears to be a Jelena reunion, Selena has been focusing heavily on promoting her new single “Come and Get It.”
Her latest performance was at last night’s Radio Disney Music Awards (where she won Best Female Artist), and it was good. Not great, but not terrible. Her dancing is as good as always, and while she doesn’t have to strongest vocals, her live performances are definitely improving. Let’s just hope her rekindled romance doesn’t distract her from all the hard work she’s clearly been doing.

Featuring him without a shirt and being cuddled by his on/off girlfriend Selena Gomez, the picture was accompanied by a caption that said, ‘”You’ve been makin music for too long babe come cuddle” -her.’
Interestingly enough, the Biebs didn’t delete this photo like he initially did with the first picture he posted of the two together. But considering the intimate nature of the image, it’s safe to say these two are definitely BACK ON and want the world to know it!

Justin Bieber tweeted a picture of himself and ex-girlfriend Selena Gomez on Sunday, which he promptly deleted afterwards but not quickly enough for Beliebers and Selenators to miss. The two pop stars sparked rumours of possibly rekindling their relationship late last week when they were spotted kissing in Oslo, Norway Thursday night.

In an interview on On Air with Ryan Seacrest Monday, Selena Gomez announced that she will hit the road this summer for a 56-date world tour.
Her “Stars Dance” tour will be kicked off in Vancouver, August 4.
Gomez will have numerous performances in Canadian cities (dates below) before her European leg of the tour – Norway, Sweden, France, England, Austria, Russia, Italy and more. After her stint in Europe, Gomez will finish her tour in North America on November 27. This summer will be very busy for Gomez, but I’m sure she will love seeing the world, and meeting all of her cross-country fans.

After having her new single leaked, Selena Gomez finally officially debuted her new track on Ryan Seacrest’s website on Saturday—two days earlier than it was set to be released, and eight days before she performs the track at the MTV Movie Awards. You’ve got to admit, Justin Bieber’s European leg of his Believe tour has been a bit crazy. I swear I can’t go a few days without hearing news about him. From getting booed at the O2 arena in London, to Selena’s “Well, that makes two of us” on Letterman when the late night host said that he made Justin cry— it’s actually been a crazy few months.
It’s not all that bad for Justin, however, since he has had a few good moments while in Europe. Here’s a graph detailing the high and lows of his tour so far. With Spring Breakers in theatres, you can’t help to wonder – when did Selena Gomez grow up? Spring Breakers star Selena Gomez stopped by The Late Show with David Letterman last night to promote the new controversial movie.
The former Disney darling was charming throughout the whole interview, especially when the topic of her now ex-boyfriend Justin Bieber came up. The show’s host, David Letterman, talked about how the last time Bieber was a guest on the show, Letterman made him cry.
“Well then, that makes two of us,” quipped Gomez.
She pretty much stopped the interview as she had Letterman and audience in stitches. Letterman even gave props to Gomez for her comedic timing. “That’s pretty strong,” he remarked.

Spring Breakers stars Selena Gomez, Rachel Korine and Ashley Benson broke out into song and sang Britney Spears’ ubiquitous hit “Hit Me Baby One More Time” during their SXSW film panel.
The trio (who was missing Vanessa Hudgens) wanted to prove that they weren’t lip syncing in the movie. Funny because they sound just fine to me live.
Beliebers everywhere have brought an awful lot of hate on the pop princess Selena Gomez after she ditched the singer and broke his young heart into a million little pieces…or something like that. And now they are enraged again because they believe she is taking another stab at her ex.
She posted a video of her and her friends dancing to Dustin Tavella’s ‘Everybody Knows (Your Boyfriend is a Douchebag). Now, Selena’s groups of friends post videos dancing to other people’s songs all the time, but some people are saying the video is her response to Justin’s recent string of scandals in London.
I’m going to give Selena the benefit of the doubt. She seems like she’s just having a good time, and was not trying to be malicious. What young 20-something doesn’t love having a dance party with their friends?

It’s your 19th birthday today. Happy birthday! The older you get, the more mature you’re supposed to be.
I don’t know about you, but I feel like 19 is such an important year. The most important thing about being nineteen is that you’re now legal to drink all over Canada. We know that you probably get the star treatment and like most teenagers, you’ve been doing this for quite a while. But if you were still back in your hometown, we’d know that tonight you’ll be drinking and clubbing until your liver falls apart. So, make a trip to the Great White North and do just that. Just know your limit and don’t drive. If you want to just chill at home, that’s cool too. Not everyone wants to get black out drunk on their big day and subsequently loses memory of what happened.

MISS: Oscar Pistorius hits the courtroom
The paralympian appeared before a judge in Pretoria, South Africa after he allegedly murdered his girlfriend, Reeva Steenkamp. Save the waterworks, Pistorius. After he was charged with one count of murder, all he did was cry. Pistorius claims that he shot the supermodel because he thought she was an intruder. Police aren’t buying it because the athlete’s been charged with “previous allegations of a domestic nature.”
