Father son duo Will and Jaden Smith star together in M. Night Shyamalan’s forthcoming science fiction thriller After Earth. The new epic trailer is already trending online.
One thousand years after cataclysmic events forced humanity’s escape from Earth, Nova Prime has become mankind’s new home. Will Smith plays a general who returns home from duty to his estranged family. When an asteroid storm damages the craft the general and his 13-year-old son Kitai (Jaden) are flying, they crash land on Earth, which is hella dangerous since it’s now unfamiliar territory. Kitai is left to trek across the terrain to their rescue beacon all alone.
The film is hitting theatres on June 7, 2013. Do you like watching movies starring Will and Jaden?

A prequel to the Planet of the Apes movies is scheduled for a summer 2011 released, Slashfilm.com reports. 20th Century FOX has placed Rise of the Apes up against Pixar’s Cars 2—both films are set to be released on June 24th, 2011.
Apart from a release date being set, there is another great piece of news. This time around, costumes are out and CGI is in. Unlike the previous films in the franchise, actors costumed like apes will not be used; all of the apes will be rendered using CGI technology.
If you’re hoping for big battles between talking monkeys and humans, unfortunately it’s probably not going to happen. Rise of the Apes will be set in present time and will deal with the events which would enable the apes to dominate the world in the future.
Slashfilm.com has the official plot synopsis:
“RISE OF THE APES (tentative title) is an origin story in the truest sense of the term. Set in present day San Francisco, the film is a reality-based cautionary tale, a science fiction/science fact blend, where man’s own experiments with genetic engineering lead to the development of intelligence in apes and the onset of a war for supremacy.”
We are not generally into the whole sci-fi thing but this show looks pretty good. It should be considering it’s the same team who came up with Grey’s Anatomy. Defying Gravity follows a group of eight young astronauts on a six year space mission. There is comedy, politics and some romance (leave it to Jordan to focus on sex, even when it’s in outer space). We sat down with Laura Harris who is one of the stars of Defying Gravity. Check out the show airing on CTV and ABC sunday evenings.
