Congrats to the new Hollywood couple!
Ryan Reynolds and Scarlett Johansson have officially tied the knot on Saturday in Vancouver, Canada, after having announced their engagement four months ago.
The two Hollywood actors who have been dating since February 2007, according to Us Magazine, wed at a remote wilderness resort just outside the city.
Reynolds, 31 and a native of Vancouver, is most notably known for his roles in films such as “Van Wilder,” “Blade Trinity,” “The Amityville Horror,” and will be seen in upcoming movies such as “Fireflies in the Garden,” “Adventureland,” and “X-Men:Origins.”
Johansson, 23, is well known for her performances in “Lost in Translation,” “Girl with a Pearl Earing,” and will be seen in her upcoming films, “The Spirit” and “He’s Just Not That into You.”
Few details are available, but guests reportedly included Scarlett’s mother, Melanie Sloan, and her brother Adrian Johansson.
The National Enquirer reports that Ryan Reynold’s jealous streak may be a threat to his engagement to Scarlett Johansson.
Reynolds is said to be insecure about the good-looking men Johansson works with. “He almost drove Scarlett away,” a source told The Enquirer. “Now that she is marrying him, she told him in no uncertain terms to quit being jealous – after all, he’s the one who is shattering many men’s dreams of getting sexy Scarlett down the aisle. But it drives him crazy when other guys flirt with her.”
Johansson just filmed a movie with Orlando Bloom and Ethan Hawke.
Now that she’s engaged to Canadian hunk Ryan Gosling, Scarlett Johansson may be becoming too big for her britches.
Britain’s Daily Mail newspaper reports that Johansson was absent from the premier of her new Woody Allen film at Cannes because the studio refused to meet her ridiculous demands.
She insisted that her $7,800-a-day make-up artist be paid to accompany her. She also refused to stay at the same hotel where Allen and co-star Penelope Cruz were staying, instead saying she required a hotel 30 miles outside of Cannes.
An executive close to the film said that “it wasn’t acceptable that Scarlett would be having to come in from that distance every day, most likely turning up late and it would have thrown schedules into a lot of confusion.”
Allen, normally quite enamoured with Johansson, is said to be annoyed that she’s not being a team player.
Johansson’s rep blamed conflicting schedules for Johansson’s absence.
The film, “Vicky Cristina Barcelona,” which features a kiss between Johansson and Cruz, received a ten-minute standing ovation at the festival.
Canadian heartthrob Ryan Reynolds is off the market again. He and girlfriend of more than a year, Scarlett Johansson, have announced that they are engaged.
Reports of their engagement began circulating in January. But they did not confirm their “recent” engagement until yesterday with People magazine – and it just so happens that Johansson’s debut album was released today.
Of their engagement, Johansson’s rep told People that the lovebirds are “both thrilled.”
Reynolds, 31, will next appear in a film called, “The Proposal” – something that he is now a seasoned verteran at. Reynolds never made it down the aisle when he was engaged to singer Alanis Morissette.
Actors making the transition to recording artist are usually looked at with disdain, but it’s pretty hard to argue with David Bowie.
Bowie croons along with Scarlett Johansson on two tracks of her upcoming Tom Waits cover album, reports Ananova.com.
With big name support like that, the future looks bright for Johansson’s singing career. But will Waits himself be a fan?
“I sent him some of the early recordings,” Johansson noted, “and he said, ‘Go ahead.’ I’ve heard he’s very pleased.”
Meanwhile, Johansson’s day job is keeping her busy, with “The Other Boleyn Girl” opening next weekend.
Amidst rumours that Scarlett Johansson and Canadian beau, Ryan Reynolds, are making plans to walk down the aisle, the actress has candidly dispelled any marriage myths.
In response to the engagement question, the 23-year-old actress cheekily told reporters that her heart belongs to presidential candidate, Senator Barack Obama.
“I am engaged … to Barack Obama. My heart belongs to Barack, and that is who I am currently, finally, engaged to. Yes,” she said, according to E! Online.
Johansson hasn’t been shy about her political support for the Senator as she publicly stepped out to support the Democratic contender at the Iowa caucuses.
As first reported by andPOP, Scarlett Johansson has announced she will release her debut album, consisting mostly of Tom Waits covers, this spring.
“Anywhere I Lay My Head” will hit U.S. stores May 20, and sees the 23-year-old actress interpreting 10 Tom Wait songs and performing one original track.
The album was produced by TV On The Radio’s Dave Sitek. Johansson also collaborated with Yeah Yeah Yeahs guitarist Nick Zinner and Celebration’s Sean Antanaitis.
Johansson recorded the album in Louisiana over five weeks last spring.
Her previous forays into music include singing the track “Summertime” for “Unexpected Dreams,” a 2006 charity album featuring celebrities not usually known for their singing.
She also sang with the Jesus & Mary Chain at last year’s Coachella festival.
Canadian heartthrob Ryan Reynolds previously called off his engagement to Alanis Morissette. So could he really be ready to take the plunge with his newest flame?
The New York Daily News is reporting that Reynolds has popped the question to Scarlett Johansson. Though Johansson’s rep denied the rumour, the paper’s source indicated that the public could expect an official announcement soon.
Reynolds and Johansson have been dating for just under a year. In comparison, Reynolds and Morissette dated for two years before their engagement, which they called off two years later.
Fittingly, one of Reynolds’ upcoming films is entitled, “The Proposal,” which will co-star Sandra Bullock.
Reynolds is 31 and Johansson is 23.

Scarlett Johansson will release an album on May 6 called “Anywhere I Lay My Head,” andPOP.com has learned.
The actress-turned-singer revealed in 2006 that she would be recording a Tom Waits cover album. Her album’s title, “Anywhere I Lay My Head,” is the title of a Waits track from his classic 1985 album “Rain Dogs.”
Johansson is most famous for her roles in such films as “Lost in Translation,” “The Island” and “Scoop.”
Update: Her label has pushed her album back until May 20
Scarlett Johansson reportedly gave boyfriend Ryan Reynolds a jaw-dropping birthday gift.
Rumours have been swirling that that Johansson presented Reynolds with her gold-plated wisdom tooth to commemorate the actor’s 31st birthday.
A source reports to E! News that Scarlett had her recently removed wisdom tooth dipped in gold and made into a necklace for the Canadian heartthrob.
The present was allegedly an early birthday gift given to Reynolds at the Chateau Marmont over dinner.
Ryan Reynolds will play an aspiring rock star in Superbad director Greg Mottola’s newest film, Adventureland.
The coming-of-age comedy, also written by Mottola, will star Jesse Eisenberg (The Squid and the Whale) as a recent college graduate in 1987 who has no choice but to work at a local amusement park. The uptight Eisenberg will learn to loosen up with the help of his love interest (Kristen Stewart, In The Land of Women) and Reynolds’ character, who is worshipped by all the kids at the park.
Reynolds is currently dating Hollywood darling Scarlett Johansson. Though the couple has not confirmed their status, they caused a tabloid frenzy last week when they were photographed walking hand in hand at LAX. They were returning from Vancouver, where Johansson was reportedly introduced to Reynolds’ family.
Reynolds was previously engaged to fellow Canadian Alanis Morissette.
SCARLETT JOHANSSON insists she never dated JUSTIN TIMBERLAKE, despite press reports that stated she came between the singer and fellow actress JESSICA BIEL.
The LOST IN TRANSLATION star tells the new issue of style magazine Vogue she has often “hung out” with Timberlake, but people let their imaginations run wild when the pair locked lips in the pop star’s steamy new WHAT COMES AROUND video.
She says, “We had fun together, but it’s not like the first time I’ve ever hung out with him.
“I think this (rumour) happens because we’re both single and in the spotlight, and obviously Justin’s a very high-profile person.”

Hollywood actress SCARLETT JOHANSSON was so desperate to get her hair colour just right, she once took a clipping of her father’s blond locks to the hairdressers to match it.
The LOST IN TRANSLATION star – who was named the Most Beautiful Celebrity Of
All Time by an anti-ageing website in December – is famed for her golden mane, but the colouring process hasn’t always been so easy.
She says, “My natural hair colour is dirty blonde. I’ve been a bottle blonde before, very yellow – and a white blonde.
“My dad is Danish and he’s a natural blonde. I’ve even taken a clipping from his hair to the salon so I can have it tinted the same colour!”

Scarlett Johansson was out yapping about herself again this week — this time, the topic was her sex life.
The actress wants the world to know that she only pretends to be promiscuous, but is actually a little bit of a prude when she’s in a relationship.
“There does seem to be a mistaken belief out there that I am sexually available somehow which is not to say that I’m not open-minded about sex,” Johansson said. “Yet I wouldn’t say I’m a serial monogamist, either. I mean, I went through periods of time when I was, ah, single. But when I’m in a relationship, I’m in a relationship.”
Where she got the idea that people care about how much she sleeps around is anyone’s guess. In any case, Johansson, who is dating actor and former hunk Josh Hartnett, thinks monogamy might not be the human way.
“I do think on some basic level we are animals, and by instinct we kind of breed accordingly. But as much as I believe that, I work really hard when I’m in a relationship to make it work in a monogamous way.”
Esquire has named Scarlett Johansson the “Sexiest Woman Alive,” earning the 21-year-old actress the cover of the magazine’s November issue.
And Johansson’s poses will definitely live up to her new title. The Hollywood It Girl is photographed sporting a bra and a white Calvin Klein mini-dress for the Esqure cover, while a spread inside the magazine will feature Johansson in sexy black lingerie.
More than just a pretty face, Johansson has shown she’s got the acting chops too with highly acclaimed roles in movies such as “Lost in Translation,” and “The Girl With The Pearl Earring.” She is currently starring in “The Black Dahlia” with Josh Hartnett.
In her interview with Esquire, Johansson makes it known that she wants people to see her for more than just her curves. “What about my brain? What about my heart? What about my kidneys and my gallbladder?” she asks.
The magazine will hit newsstands Oct. 18.
Athletic wear company Reebok announced on Tuesday that actress Scarlett Johansson will co-design and model a new line of clothes. Dubbed “Scarlett ‘Hearts’ Rbk,” the line will feature high-end retro-styled shoes and apparel.
E! Online reports that the line will debut in Spring 2007, with a worldwide ad campaign featuring Johansson.
“Reebok has a rich heritage in developing and designing cutting-edge women’s product which makes them an ideal company to partner with to launch Scarlett ‘Hearts’ Rbk,” said Johansson (or more likely, Reebok’s marketing team) in a statement. “I am very enthusiastic about working with Reebok to design this line.”
Johansson isn’t new to the world of advertising and product partnership. She is currently a spokesmodel for L’Oreal Paris and has appeared in ads for Calvin Klein and Louis Vuitton.
Her new film, Woody Allen’s “Scoop,” opens on Friday.
A new BBC movie, inspired by the life of King Henry VIII’s second wife Anne Boleyn, has landed actress Scarlett Johansson for one of the leading roles.
Titled “The Other Boleyn Girl,” the flick is based on a novel about various struggles for power in the Boleyn family, particularly between sisters Anne and Mary.
While Johansson will take on the character of Mary, Natalie Portman has been given the title role.
The novel, written by Philippa Gregory, was previously adapted for the big screen by the BBC in 2003. Natasha McElhone starred as Anne Boleyn in that version.
The role of King Henry VIII is expected to be filled by Australian actor Eric Bana.
The movie, to be directed by Justin Chadwick, is scheduled to begin shooting in October.
