Possible ‘Sex And The City’ Sequel

The “Sex And The City” movie broke box-office records by becoming the biggest romantic-comedy opening of all time, but is there another one in store for Carrie, Samantha, Miranda and Charlotte? The answer is maybe.

When asked by MTV News if a “Sex And The City” sequel is a possibility, Sarah Jessica Parker said, “We are talking about it. We’ve had very general conversations about the idea. That’s the big hurdle: the idea. The studio is very enthusiastic, which is lovely and seductive. We’re at the place where [writer/director] Michael [Patrick King] has a wealth of stories so now it’s, ‘We think we have this story and how do we put this together and are we completely sure that it’s the right thing to do?’ ”

As for a shooting date for the sequel, Parker told MTV News next summer could be a possibility, “I think it’s a realistic timetable. That’s when we’d start shooting to be out in 2010. But that means we need to figure this out in the next couple of months.”

Hugh Grant, Sarah Jessica Parker Team Up For Rom-Com

The king and queen of romantic comedies are finally getting together.

Variety reports that Hugh Grant and Sarah Jessica Parker are in talks to star in an untitled project — a romantic comedy, natch — from “Music and Lyrics” director Marc Lawrence.

Lawrence also penned the script, which follows an estranged New York couple (Grant and Parker) who are placed in a witness-protection program in a small Wyoming town after witnessing a murder.

Shooting is expected to begin next March.

Lawrence previously worked with Grant on “Music and Lyrics” and “Two Weeks Notice” and also penned the “Miss Congeniality” films.

Grant is attached to star in a remake of the romantic comedy “Trouble in Paradise,” while Parker is expected to reprise her role as Carrie Bradshaw in a “Sex and the City” sequel.

Sarah Jessica Parker Steamed at Designer

Sarah Jessica Parker is furious to find out that her dress for the big “Sex and the City” movie premiere had already been worn, twice.

According to gossip site TMZ.com, The New York times reported that Parker wore a Nina Ricci gown to the premiere but was unaware that her “one of a kind’ gown was previously paraded by socialite Lauren Santo Domingo and singer-actress Lindsay Lohan.

Parker claims that she was assured by the designer that the gown had never been worn or photographed before.

“What they did was so short-sighted. It’s just unethical and disappointing that they would allow the dress to be worn again,” the actress told the newspaper.

This incident is quite the fashion faux pas for Parker, who is famous for playing fashion-savvy Carrie Bradshaw in “Sex and the City.”

‘Sex and the City’ Director Kills Death Rumours

Some “Sex and the City” fans may be burying their heads in shoe boxes to avoid any spoilers about the upcoming movie, but it may not be necessary.

Director-producer Michael Patrick King has killed the rumour about the death of an unnamed character.

“It’s a summer movie,” he told Yahoo! News. “Why would I want to kill anyone?”

King did say that killing Mr. Big – heroine Carrie’s long-time love – was considered, but he didn’t think it would go over well with the audience.

“I did want an emotional roller-coaster, but my ultimate target was to make our ‘girlfriends’ — in other words, our audience — happy. And I don’t think Mr. Big dying would make them happy.

“I would have been chased around the planet by women with torches.”

Beckinsale Replaces Sarah Jessica Parker in New Film

“Underworld” actress Kate Beckinsale will star in the new thriller “Vacancy” after Sarah Jessica Parker dropped out of the project.

Zap2It.com reports that the Nimrod Atal-directed movie follows a couple who discover they’re being secretly filmed in a motel room for a voyeuristic snuff film.

The film’s main couple will be rounded out by Luke Wilson, while Frank Whaley will play the anti-hero, according to the Hollywood Reporter.

No details have been released on why Parker took herself off the film, except that it was for “personal reasons.”

Sarah Jessica Parker May Return To TV In The Future

Fans of Sex and the City will be happy to know that former star Sarah Jessica Parker may be returning to the small screen.

Parker, who played Carrie Bradshaw on the HBO series that ran from 1998 to 2004, said on Friday that she may consider acting in another television series down the road. Since Sex and the City ended, Parker has focused mainly on movie roles.

“I didn’t say no more television ever. I just said not at this time,” Parker told Reuters.

“I would say that for the near future, I think doing films is much better for my son as it is a finite period of commitment. It is better for my husband, it is better for my life as a parent and gives me time to be a businesswoman.”

Parker, 41, is married to actor Matthew Broderick.
