Sandra Bullock To Star In Sports Dramedy
Sandra Bullock has signed to star in “Blindside,” a sports dramedy that will tell the true story of football player Michael Oher.
Oher, projected to be one of the first players selected in this year’s NFL draft, was the subject of a 2006 bestselling novel by Michael Lewis, “The Blind Side: Evolution of the Game,” on which the movie will be based.
According to The Hollywood Reporter, the story will focus on Oher’s beginnings as a homeless black teen who is taken in by an affluent white family and must then overcome new obstacles.
Bullock, 44, will play Leigh Anne Touhy, the matriarch of the conservative suburban household that Oher joins.
John Lee Hancock (”The Rookie”) wrote the adaptation and will direct.
Bullock will next appear in the romantic comedies “The Proposal,” co-starring Ryan Reynolds, and “All About Steve.”
