On St. Valentines Day in the City Hall of the Sixth Arrondissement in central Paris, Le Point reports that 42 year old actor Salma Hayek married 46 year old French billionaire Francois-Henri Pinault. The couple had originally planned their engagement for March 2007 however it was delayed.
The couple currently has one daughter, Valentina Paloma Pinault, who was born in Los Angeles in September 2007. A source told PEOPLE that the two went away to Paris which evidently rekindled their relationship. Hayek has been making appearances on NBC’s 30 Rock and recently told TV host Rachael Ray that when she kisses Alec Baldwin on the show, “I keep telling Francois, ‘I imagine I was kissing you.’ ” Pinaut also has two children from a previous marriage.
There’ll be no wedding bells in the near future for Salma Hayek–she and her fiance have called off their engagement.
A rep for the Mexican actress and her French billionaire Francois-Henri Pinault confirmed the news yesterday to USA Today.
“We are sad to announce the engagement of Salma Hayek and Francois-Henri Pinault has been canceled,” said Hayek’s rep. “There will be no further comment.”
The Frida star and fashion tycoon announced their engagement back in March 2007, but no wedding date was ever set publicly.
But the couple of two years–and parents of one–might not be done for good. There’s no word on whether or not they plan on staying together.
The couple welcomed their baby girl, Valentina Paloma Pinault, last September. She is the first child for 41-year-old Hayek, and the third for the 45-year-old CEO of Gucci and Yves Saint Laurent.
They were last publicly seen together in February, at a Gucci party hosted by Madonna.
