Selena Gomez continues to show the world what a sweet, sincere young woman she is.

As reported on Ryan Seacrest’s radio show today, the singer surprised a 13-year-old girl named Hana at an L.A. hospital. Hana has a  fatally genetic disease called progeria that dramatically ages kids ten times faster than normal. So, she may be 13 but looks and feels like a 70 year old.

Hana’s tutor Sara wrote Ryan Seacrest a touching letter about Sara’s condition and how Selena is her favourite singer in the whole wide world. It’s hard to make the Christmas holiday fun when you have a friend in the hospital. Ryan decided to help Sara and Hana out by getting Selena to visit them in the hospital.

Selena could have been busy recording or doing press for her music or hanging out with her boyfriend Justin Bieber, but instead, she decided to selflessly devote some time to a dying 13-year-old girl.

“I can’t believe it. I had so much to say, but I didn’t want to cry in front of her because I didn’t want to look like a baby,” Hana told Ryan.

Because of Selena, Hana now has a Christmas she will never forget. Stories like this one really tug at your heartstrings, don’t they?

Kevin Jonas might have a new reality show with his new wife Danielle. The couple currently has some TV cameras following them, and Ryan Seacrest is reportedly behind the project.

NY Post reports Danielle and Kevin were on the red carpet of Sarah Jessica Parker’s I Don’t Know How She Does It premiere in New York City last week.

American Idol alumnus Carrie Underwood called into Ryan Seacrest to update him on life and her new album.

She said about her new album; “I’ve been writing quite a bit and been in the studio a little bit so I have half an album done right now and trying to fill in the gaps and try to figure out what pieces of the puzzle are missing, but it’s a fun time right now just figuring everything out.”

And now that she’s married, she said; “We started out being married, he was still living in Ottawa and I was living in Nashville and now we actually live together under the same roof so that has changed.  It’s really nice having him around.”

Good news – you will be able to celebrate New Year’s with Lady Gaga. Gaga will be performing on ABC’s “Dick Clark’s New Year’s Rockin’ Eve With Ryan Seacrest 2012.”

“Lady Gaga is one of the most exciting and relevant artists of our time, and we’re thrilled to have her join ‘New Year’s Rockin’ Eve’ this year in Times Square,” Seacrest said of her addition to the lineup.

This particular year is especially special as it’s the 40th anniversary of Dick Clark’s New Year’s Rockin’ Eve.

Jennifer Lopez was on Ryan Seacrest’s radio show where she spoke about the first American Idol fight of the season.

“I think me, Randy and Steven got into our first fight,” J.Lo admitted when she called in to “On-Air With Ryan Seacrest” on Friday morning. “I got really, really upset. There was this girl that came in and sang and she was amazing, amazing. And Steven, as he will do when we’re doing our auditions, he’ll ask her for another song. I was like, I was surprised because I was ready to vote. I was like, ‘This girl is amazing.’ ”

Seacrest chimed in and said, ”The thing I recognized from that scene was there was blood boiling for one of the first times. I really felt like your blood was boiling.”

We are curious to see how this episode plays out in the upcoming season.

You think after nearly dying on a jet ski, Sean Kinston would take a break from the dangerous machines. However, Kingston insists that he will get another one soon.

Talking to Ryan Seacrest, Kingston said, “I’m gonna go on another jet-ski… I was new to the area; I had just moved to the island and I didn’t know about the tides, I didn’t know about anything like that. It happened to me because I chose to ride around in that area, but there’s so much water that I could have chosen to ride around on.”

Well – at least the guy has a hobby.

Yes, Ryan Seacrest is spreading his media wings and will be making the show with Bravo. The show currently titled Shahs of Sunset will follow wealthy Persian people in Los Angeles.

The Los Angeles Times says, ”Armed with chromed-out cars, logo-ridden purses and designer outfits, they’ve got it and they’re not afraid to flaunt it,” Bravo said in a statement, while adding that the group also “knows the value of family and tradition.”

Yes, who wouldn’t want to watch this. Now we can find out which ethnic stereotype is more tacky – Italians from New Jersey or Persians from Los Angeles. Whose taking bets?

Fox is reportedly aiming for Glee’s Jane Lynch to host this year’s ‘Primetime Emmy Awards,’ reports Deadline.

After ‘How I Met Your Mother’ star Neil Patrick Harris received rave reviews as Emmy host last year, Fox is apparently keen on hiring a major television star to host once again.

Under the recently signed new eight-year deal between the Big 4 broadcast networks and the TV Academy, the Emmy Awards will air on Fox this September, with Mark Burnett executive producing.

With Lynch’s background as an actress, comedian and singer, she not only emerged as a top choice for the hosting gig but seems like a perfect choice. Other Fox personalities that reportedly had been considered include ‘Family Guy’ creator Seth MacFarlane, but he would probably cause the network too much stress in censoring everything he says.

Another choice Fox is considering is Ryan Seacrest, who has hosted in the past. But with ‘American Idol,’ on an all-time high, it may be Seacrest overload.

I think Lynch is the perfect choice. She’s current, she knows what she’s talking about, and she’s funny. Done deal.

Gwen Stefani, lead singer of No Doubt, revealed on ‘On Air with Ryan Seacrest’ Friday that a new No Doubt album is expected to be released sometime this year.

The singer phoned in on Friday to chat about styling the girls on ‘American Idol,’ which she did awesomely if I may say so myself, as well as revealed what’s in store with the upcoming No Doubt record. She revealed the album will be “definitely out this year.”

Although Stefani didn’t mention an exact date, the L.A.M.B. rocker revealed, “we’ve been going for awhile trying to make this record and it’s been super challenging but really fun, we’re trying to enjoy the moment of writing and…it’s just a really fun process and I think it’s going to be out this year,” adding, “it’s generally a really happy album…the main thing we were trying to do is write really catchy good songs.”

Gwen further revealed, “we got about 10 songs done and we want to do a few more just in case, but it’s a really good record, I really love this record.”

I’m so excited by this news! They have always been a favourite of mine. I was so sad when I missed their reunion tour a year ago or so, so this will be a good kickstart to their comeback. I’m glad their taking their time to write this album too, instead of rushing out a bunch of crap like many other bands do. Although I loved Stefani’s solo stuff and her different experimentation, there is nothing that can replace the No Doubt music – it’s just so unique and fresh. Can’t wait!

BREAKING NEWS: Taylor Swift has chops! Alright, that we may have already known. But, who knew she had a great music taste?

Recently on her Twitter she tweeted about The Civil Wars, a lesser known Americana duo and their debut album Barton Hollow shot to the top of the charts. And now, the pop starlet has revealed her love for Mumford and Sons. It is admirable that Swift dug deeper than “The Cave”, “Little Lion Man” or Mumford’s better known songs to choose the haunting “White Blank Page”

At the 46th Academy of Country Music Awards on Sunday night, Swift won Entertainer of the Year, which is considerably the highest honour of the evening. Her name was announced by Ryan Seacrest and she appeared surprised, as usual. She is the youngest artist in the history of the ACM to win this award.

“This is the first time I ever won this and I’m just losing my mind!,” Swift said. “We just got back from Asia and Europe on tour and thank you for this wonderful welcome-home gift and thanks for not forgetting about me. The fact that this is from the fans, you are the best thing that has ever happened to me! Ever!”

In Britney’s words herself, “The bitch is back.”

Britney Spears made an appearance on KIIS FM’s On Air with Ryan Seacrest radio show last week, officially dropping her new single Till The World Ends and announcing her plans for a summer tour.

Spears’ album Femme Fatale drops on March 29th and is currently being labelled as the ‘comeback’ album. Although Spears has released two CDs since her mental breakdown and head-shaving fiasco, Blackout and Circus, this album is known as her comeback album since she is actually doing promotion, performances, and taking risks in her music.

Spears is also set to perform in San Francisco on the 29th for Good Morning America, in correlation with the release of her album. This performance is also highly anticipated by fans, as it will be her first televised performance in a while.

Spears sat down with Ryan to chat about her album, her personal life, and plans for the tour. Spears said she is currently happy, healthy, and ready to tour, and that this album is some of her best work to date. The album includes collaborations with artists such as will.i.am and Sabi.

I’m personally rooting hardcore for Britney. As a dedicated fans for years, I endured her mental breakdowns, hair choices, and gas-station fiascos. But that’s all behind me now, and I’m hoping she returns with full force and passion. She seemed to sound happier and more vested on the radio show, so that is a good sign. Her music video for Hold It Against Me, which was released a couple of weeks ago, also showed a more daring and edgy Britney, so I’m hoping this will transcend onto her album.

What’s really funny though is while Britney is on her way up, Christina is on her way down. Aguilera, who was recently arrested for public intoxication, is in between a messy divorce and public downfall. To all the Aguilera fans who have bashed Britney throughout the years, ha, who’s laughing now?

Ever noticed that over the past couple of years, Larry King has upped his fashion sense? And you may wonder who deserves the credit. Well it’s not his wife, but actually Ryan Seacrest.

Larry King appeared on Conan O’Brien last night as a guest, where the topic of his style came up in conversation. Larry said that Seacrest mails him jeans.

“Ryan Seacrest send you JEANS?!” Conan said, aghast. “Those are Ryan Seacrest’s jeans?!”

“No, he buys them I guess,” King responded, standing up and flaunting his wardrobe.”What do you mean: They’re not from his body! Maybe they are…”

“Maybe they are! Maybe he takes them off at night puts them in a FedEx envelope and you get them. Those are very Seacrest-y jeans, I’m telling ya.”

TMZ is reporting that Ryan Seacrest felt pretty generous Thursday night, where he picked up the bill for a $50,000 dinner, including a $10,000 tip.

Sources tell TMZ that Seacrest was at the Billionaire Club restaurant in Sardinia for a meal while talking business.  Although it’s just speculation, it could have had something to do with his radio gig, as that contract is due at the end of the year.

The sources also say that Ryan’s rumoured-girlfriend Julianne Hough was one of the attendees.

Seacrest picked up the tab for everyone in his party, accounting for several tables, dishing out $41,000 for the meal and an additional $10,000 tip.

Extra TV is reporting that Simon Cowell has released some big news! According to Cowell, Piers Morgan from “America’s Got Talent” could be Larry King’s replacement on CNN.

“[Morgan] was under contract to us on ‘America’s Got Talent,’ so he called me and we helped sort of broker the deal,” Cowell said. “I knew about this weeks ago.”

Although there has been nothing officially announced about King’s replacement, Cowell is very confident in Morgan’s ability as an interviewer.

“Piers is without question the best interviewer I’ve ever been interviewed by… apart from you, Terri.” (He of course is referring to Terri Seymour who was interviewing him at the time).

However there is another candidate for Larry’s replacement who has a connection to Simon Cowell. That is of course Ryan Seacrest, who has stood in for Larry King a few times.

We feel that Seacrest would be a better fit. What do you think?

Never fear Ryan Seacrest, your 26-year-old stalker is going to be behind bars, reports TMZ.  Today, after pleading no contest to felony stalking back in March, stalker Chidi Uzomah was sentenced to two years in prison.

But where did this all start?

Well, back in September.  Chidi went after Seacrest outside of an Orange County hospital armed with a knife.

Following this crazy event, Chidi showed up at the E! building where Seacrest shoots his daily TV show.  But this was no warm welcoming.  This was a month later in violation of a restraining order.  And Chidi was armed with a knife again.

So, in addition to the two year sentence, the judge ordered Chidi to stay away from Seacrest for 10 years.  Also, the judge ordered Chidi to use plastic cutlery for the rest of his life.  Just kidding, but not a bad idea.

It’s not fair to say “American Idol” is on life support but ratings are not as rosy as they once were.

“This is just not an exciting season,” said Lyndsey Parker, managing editor of Yahoo Music, who blogs about “Idol” in her “Reality Rocks” column. “As with any show it comes down to casting, whether you are casting for [MTV's] ‘The Real World’ or ‘American Idol.’ If the people you are casting aren’t that interesting, people aren’t going to watch.”

CNN reports that data from The Nielsen Company shows last season’s “Idol” performance night drew an average of 26.3 million viewers; results night had an average of 26.9 million viewers. Season-to-date data through April 18 shows 25.7 million viewers tuning in on Tuesday nights and 24.5 million viewers being drawn to the show on Wednesdays.

However in all fairness a bunch of shows are dealing with sliding ratings. During a recent appearance on CNN’s “Larry King Live,” “Idol” host Ryan Seacrest said  ”ratings traditionally take a little dip” before “heading back up” later in the season.

Ryan Seacrest was granted a temporary restraining order against an alleged stalker, reports TMZ. Chidi Uzomah, who was arrested Friday at the E! building, must remain 100 yards from Seacrest and may not contact the American Idol host or go near his home, work or vehicle.

Uzomah, who was convicted of three misdemeanors last month after attacking Seacrest’s bodyguard at an Orange County hospital, is being held in jail on charges of felony stalking.

He showed up at the E! building in Los Angeles with a knife in his pocket – not the first time he has gone to Seacrest’s place of work with a weapon. Earlier this month, he was looking for him at a Burbank, CA radio station. He also had a knife in his pocket when the incident with the bodyguard occurred.

One of the terms of his probation for pleading guilty to the three earlier misdemeanors was to stay away from Seacrest.

So You Think You Can Dance host Cat Deeley will be presenting an award at Sunday’s 61st annual Emmy Awards, but many say she should be among American Idol‘s Ryan Seacrest, Survivor host Jeff Probst, and Heidi Klum of Project Runway as a nominee for best reality show host.

At the G-Star Raw fashion show, Deeley told E! News two people had already told her she deserved a nomination in the 20 minutes since she’d arrived at the show.

“I’m a little bit nervous about it though,” said the Brit about presenting. “I’ve done it back in England, and I’ve hosted award shows back in England, but I’ve never actually done it before here. But I’m excited, you know? It’s a really exciting thing to do. I’m having a whole plethora of dresses coming in. I know I’ve got Matthew Williamson and [Burberry's] Christopher Bailey sending me over things so far, but I’m sure there’ll be more.”

Deeley said she’s also nervous about her show making the switch from a summer reality show to a staple in Fox’s primetime line-up this fall.

“I’m approaching it with a little trepidation,” she said. “There’s one part of me that is actually like, ‘Oh goodness, it’s really competitive, and we’ve just finished the last season, so is it too much too soon?’ But then I turn around and I go, ‘Well, Fox seems to have confidence in us, and the audience loves the show, so provided we keep doing what we’re doing and do it bigger and better than ever before, we should be OK.’”
